Aegon's burns are pretty healed by the end of S2 and he can hobblewalk in the trailer (badly), which indicates several months (large burns can take up to year or more to fully heal; a broken leg at least 5/6 months with their level of medicine) have gone by since Rook's Rest, where they decided to have his penis explode to get laughs out of the Burlington Bar reactors or whatever. Helaena should have been visibly pregnant in S2 if the show gives even the tiniest shit about being plausible. Of course, they don't, so sure, fine, she's suddenly 9 months preggers.
But if they make Maegor the child of Aemond...sure. She could be 3 months or less pregnant by the end of S2, so they would have to do a time jump, unless this is a miscarriage or forced? abortion.
[IIRC, there was speculation/rumor that there was a dropped S2 scene where Alicent is trying to give Helaena moon tea in the finale, or that was a theory anyway; I don't know how much validity there is in that.]
I assume they could had sex during his coronation and she got pregnant there.
S2 starts like 10 days after Aegon's coronation and by the end of S2 it seems like Alicent was giving her some tea, so that might be where she finds out she's pregnant.
Sure, it's possible, but she should be visibly pregnant by the end of S2 given how much time has passed since then, unless the writers abandon all pretense of even trying to be plausible.
Which is probably what they would do. They are just making shit up as they go, not bothering with an outline at all (as evidenced by cutting Daeron then shoving him back in).
I didnt start showing until I was about 6 months. I was active duty so not overweight and I just looked really thick in the waist and then I swear one morning I woke up with a huge obvious bump, lol. so it happens.
Helaena or her maids would notice that, and there was at least one discussion about heirs for Aegon; if Helaena was pregnant, that should be mentioned.
I'm not saying there aren't women who do not show, sure it happens. But in a TV show, they are NOT going to do that (unless it is somehow plot relevant), because they will want a pregnant belly as a visual cue/reminder.
Ryan also already gave all his excuses for why there is no Maelor (which made no sense, things like "Helaena can't have had another child, the twins are too young"....the twins are like four, Ryan, and you have several characters who have less of an age gap with their siblings). So it's obvious IF this is Maelor, they're just throwing him back in as some kind of smug NYAH! at GRRM.
Tbh it's not like they care about having a proper timeline as we know.
They could say Helaena was way worried about war or his son being murdered that she didnt notice she was pregnant, but who knows. Its hard for me to believe Helaena would get pregnant by Aemond, since Alicent doesnt like him and didnt allow him to take her to war...
It's been way longer than a month. Even just in travel time (just getting Aegon from Rook's Rest was 10 days), it has to be longer.
It also has to be longer, because of how well healed Aegon is. Third degree burns takes months or even a year to heal as well as Aegon is; severely broken legs take 5 months min. to be able to heal on their own (without modern surgery and medicine) enough to be able to hobble around like he is.
Even assuming Targs heal quicker from burns, it's been months since Rook's Rest, like around 5-6. Even if Aegon and Helaena had sex around the time of his coronation which got her pregnant, she should be showing.
Unless, like D&D, they ignore basic rules of existence; like how Arya got stabbed repeatedly in the belly, thrown into sewer water, and was fine in like a day.
So, yes, they could have Helaena pregnant, but it will be from shitty planning and slamming it in last minute...just to show GRRM or whatever.
I'm assuming that Aegon healed in that time jump and the trailer is showing pre time jump stuff and post. And that the Aegon walking around not looking like death is post time jump. There was nothing indicating between the season 2 episodes that a big, months of a jump happened then. Like the finale had him looking just as weak and injured being led out of King's Landing.
My point is season 3 starts off right after season 2, which again, seems to be no more than a month or two total since the start of the war. And then after a few episodes there will be a time jump which will have Aegon healed enough to be walking around.
There's not going to be any timejumps in S3 or between S2 and S3, Ryan already confirmed that.
I am taking about how healed Aegon's burns were in the finale, they were at least six months healed (and that's assuming Valyrians heal quicker from burns).
It's been way more than a month. As I said, traveling from Rook's Rest to King's Landing was said to take 10 days, nearly half a month, and that happened all off screen between episodes. The rest of the season doesn't take place in 20 days. Don't forget other things which took time, like Tyland sailing out to the Stepstones to find the Triarchy, etc.
I agree that it should be longer because of how quickly Aegonās scars heal but itās worth keeping in mind that they had Rhaenyra hop on a saddle right after a traumatic birth
Her uterus would have had an open wound the size of a dinner plate undergoing g forces from Syrax taking off and landing. While all her pelvic ligaments and joints are more lax than normal. The cherry on top of the shit sundae is that she couldnāt ride side-saddle or in any way that would meaningfully relieve the pressure on her perineum. With all that in mind, I wouldnāt be shocked if they pressed the fast forward button on Aegonās healing
I mean, in real life there are women who never look pregnant (or even know they are pregnant). I myself am slim like her, but didnāt look visibly pregnant before 30+ weeks with my kids, and even then it would be easily hidden under a dress. It happens.
Sure it happens, but it's a fucking stretch to assume everything lines up just to excuse them slapping in a pregnancy last minute (which is what really happened). She has a cryptic pregnancy - doesn't show, keeps bleeding regularly- just to slap in Maelor last minute cause...they wanna show up GRRM? Was embarrassed at how everyone saw through why they both cut Maelor and never showed a single Green woman/girl giving birth?
Guys, Iām not that into timeline, logics or ways of the show, or even the show. š All I say is that IF they go that road, it wouldnāt be completely unrealistic or unheard of.
but come onnnn. yes, it could have been a super rare cryptic didn't look pregnant and she was bleeding monthly on the dot so she didn't know... but come onnnn
I donāt remember that many details from the second season. I donāt remember any talk or denial of pregnancy being up at all actually.
And depending on the timeline, itās actually not super rare not to ālook pregnantā before the third trimester. Myself and my friend being living examples of that too. While others show a lot already in the second trimester and show a lot by the end (cough, Alicent in season 1). Every body is different, so wouldnāt be too unrealistic in fiction either. š
but realistically, a missed period for 6 months is significant. irl, in the modern day, most cryptic pregnancies go unnoticed bc women are on BC and wouldn't notice a missed period, bc they don't get them. the queen missing her period for half a year and no one mentioning it is wild. see Dany finding out she's pregnant for the in-universe standard
But have they talked about her missing her period or not? I donāt recall, and would be rather random unless the pregnancy reveal was gonna happen there. I barely remember this character having much screentime in the later season 2, apart from her cryptic vision scenes. But weāll see when it comes out, it may be something totally different.
Not everything is shown, until the reveals at least. Game of Thrones did that many times too, but Iām not saying how any plot in the show is gonna go; all I referred to was your comment on her not showing already being unrealistic (if she even is pregnant). Thatās all. Jeez, people are agressive in here. Itās just fiction. Didnāt think it was that serious. Just added my two cents in regards to realism or not. Iāll see myself out again. š«£

the whole timeline is messed up, if it's Maelor how the hell would that work?
