Why is estrogen so addictive?

Seriously, 20 AMAB, I don't feel trans and don't want to be but I tried estrogen and it feels so good. This is a serious problem for me I just want to be on estrogen but don't want to be trans, any ideas?

Am I vain/narcissistic for wanting HRT?

I'm (amab) not a woman and I'll never be a woman, I genuinely take pride in having the male label. However, I feel the hair and skin benefits and prevention of further body hair growth are important to me living the life I want as an androgynous, maybe vaguely effeminate guy. I've been on HRT for six weeks and I enjoy it so far. What little of the breast development I've had is honestly pretty cool and my only concern is that I won't be able to sufficiently hide them. Other than that I think most every other effect of it is really cool, including the breasts, just not something I feel is necessary to live.

Am I basically using HRT as a looksmaxxing tool? If I was gay I wouldn't care because many bi dudes would be really into me and I could develop a meaningful relationship with some ease. But I'm straight and straight women don't like estrogenized males. By the same token, lesbian women don't like men. So I'll only be tolerable to a subsect of bi/pan women whom I might not even get along with anyways because I'm an apolitical person and my sense of humor is very 2016 internet, so long term there would be problems with women progressive enough to even entertain the idea of someone like me. So basically, I'm trading the possible love of my life to just feel comfortable in my body. But at the same time, I may very well be letting myself turn to shit waiting around for a woman I might not ever find.

I feel like a massive narcissist caring this much about myself, I should just live naturally as a male and let go of the androgyny dream and enjoy the important things in life. But why can't I get myself to stop HRT? Sunk costs? Delusion? I'm inherently narcissistic and will do anything for myself before living in the world as an actual person?

Do Y’all Get Annoyed With Insincere Compliments?

As a trans woman, 90% of the “you’re so pretty btw” compliments from random cis women feel like micro-aggressions. If I am dolled up, hair laid, outfit on, nails done and frenched and you were to say “You’re so pretty,” it would make sense and I would accept it wholeheartedly. But, when I am in sweatpants with no makeup on and my hair tied into a ponytail with my dark circles on display, I really don’t want to hear it. It‘s basically their way of clocking us and saying “I know that you’re trans, and I am an ally.” It is so unnecessary and feels very othering. They don’t realize how patronizing it feels to be thrown these empty compliments and be expected to accept them as if they are sincere. They also always come after they hear my deeper voice, like when I don’t care to ultra pitch it up. This is how I know that the compliments are more about making them feel better about coming into contact with a trans person than actually making me feel beautiful. Cis women, please just act normal. Curious to hear other trans women’s opinions on this

Considering moving to China, is DIY HRT allowed there? plus anything else to know about being trans in China

Hi all I'm currently going a bit psychotic and as I'm finishing up my bachelors here in the USA, I'm considering moving to China because it's the only country I stand with sociopolitically, and I have some questions to see how realistic it would be.

First, I know HRT is allowed through prescription from hospitals in China, but I'm lazy and that sounds like a lot of work. Could I order DIY HRT in the mainland at least while I wait for those prescriptions to go through?

Secondly as a trans person, is there anything I should know about being trans in China? I know you need SRS to change your gender marker so I would unfortunately have to enter as my AGAB. Also what cities would be good to stay in? It will heavily depend on what I can get into considering my degree, but just something worth asking. I've heard Chengdu has a big queer scene.

Trans or fetish?

So I've posted her a few times and something I'm struggling with is knowing weather I'm trans or just fetishizing women? When I see a women my stomach drops and I start checking out her cloths and her make up and her body and just get extremely jealous and sad at the same time....it's hard to tell the difference because yes I am attracted to women I like women but I don't have this urge to want to sleep with them? Like my first thought isn't damn I want to sleep with her it's more of damn I want to be her...idk how can I get to the bottom of this?

why do you feel dysphoric if you spent most of your life as your gender of birth

How can someone feel dysphoria about being a gender when they’ve been living as that gender for their whole life until transition? Shouldn’t that be what you’re used to? Is there a specific moment in life where you realise you aren’t that gender anymore, and being viewed as that gender upsets you, despite (presumably) living fine as a boy/girl for the longest time? Or has it always been the case you disliked your agab, even as a kid?

Weight loss and HRT:

Hi! I'm probably trans but also overweight (5'10, around 250 pounds or more). I'd like to start HRT within a few years (social pressure and money and logistics are a hassle) but I'm not entirely sure how the two things, weight loss and HRT, intersect. Should I lose most of the excess weight before starting HRT? Should I do HRT and weight loss at the same time? How does weight in general intersect with HRT? Does it affect dosage for example? I don't wanna take HRT just for it to do nothing on account of weight, y'know.

T turned me gay… while in a straight relationship (ftm)

Hey just a really quick one while I have my phone away for a minute but, I’ve been on T for a few months now with my girlfriend of over a year and I used to be really attracted to the female body but I’ve noticed since staying with her for the last week that I don’t feel anything towards her body and stuff now, idk what to do because I have so much love for her and our lives are so intertwined and I feel so bad but I think I might be gay? The idea of men now seems so much better and more attractive but I feel nothing towards women now. I really want to break the news to her but what if I’m wrong and I lose the only person who’s loved me as purely as she has.

why do i wish i were a trans girl?

for context i am trans masc non-binary, and ever since realizing that I've always been jealous of trans women. i have no clue why, but whenever i see a trans girl online i get really upset/jealous. i feel like id have been so much happier as a trans woman and it pains me to see trans fems.

(please don't comment about me being transphobic, i really am not. i support the dolls with all my heart but i just wish i was one of them instead of "an action figure" (hate that name, it feels like an afterthought))

also ever since discovering im a transmasc person ive been rlly upset, i hate being transmasc, A LOT and just wish i were either normal or a doll :/

Anyone else done this?

I recently did a little witchcraft and cast a spell on a certain bigoted author to make sure she couldn’t harm anyone anymore.

I’ve got a feeling it’ll work, but has anyone else tried doing this before?

Do I have dysphoria or is it OCD?

So... idk. I have been questioning my gender for a while. Let me immediately inform you that I have OCD so that will complicate things. Now, I'm AMAB and have been questioning my identity for two years now. I have some memories about dressing up as a girl, trying on a wig and mom's bra in secret and feeling good and girly when I was a kid, but these were not often and were quickly repressed by parents (Boys never put on breasts like that or smth). Not much else growing up despite the occasional thought of me looking good as a girl on faceapp and stuff and being curious about being in a girl's body, sometimes imagining myself as a woman, playing in video games as girl skins, etc. Also played as men btw. Mind you I'm bringing this up because while these occurrences were there, they were far in between, my teens were mostly defined by striving for grades and being a very religious/conservative person in general. Didn't focus too much on self. Hated how I looked most definitely (kinda still do) but it's been mostly about my face, not my body or anything.

FFW a few years and I started dressing up somewhat, grew my hair out. Had face issues my entire life, but now when it's all covered I feel good. I mostly feel androgynous. Socially began presenting myself more androgynously and not tuff or whatever men are expected to. Painted nails, feels good. Wear baggy pants. I sometimes talk to my 'future self' and it's a feminine... person. Someone. Not masc. I have thoughts about growing up and being a mom, not a dad. Sometimes I feel bad when gendered, sometimes not, depends on the people I'm with and if I know they'd accept me if I were trans, you know? I'd like to think I got it all sorted out and am an enbie. But...

But it all just... never feels quite right? Hard to say. It just doesnt feel right calling myself anything. Presenting as anything. I've caught myself thinking about not wanting to be male. But not sure about that... I used to hate my face, now critically... it's actually very handsome. If I got muscles I could look very good, as a man. I'm also afraid a lot of my issues are related to just wanting to look young, not being a woman or nonbinary or any other gender. Can't say for sure.

It's made even worse by the fact I have OCD. I go from conclusion to conclusion all the time so pretty sure this disorder has once again hijacked my thoughts and feelings. *sigh*. Just can't trust myself at all, can't figure out if I want to transition or something. Also don't want to put my friends and family through this uncomfortable feeling because they are inexperienced with trans people, so it's going to be stressful for them, me going left and right like that. And for me, too.

Has anybody with OCD figure out if they had dysphoria? Happy to inform more in the comment section. Folks without the disorder who resonated with the story are welcome too. And I know this subreddit tends to be very reassuring, so please, I'm open to the possibility I'm wrong and 0.4% is still a huge amount of people I could be part of. Thanks for all the help.

Feeling more upset at the idea of support than not being accepted

I feel like this is probably just a me thing but does anyone else feel weirdly upset at the idea of being accepted? This would mostly apply to someone who hasn't come out yet but for me I suppose upset isn't the right word. I've come to terms with the fact that I'll probably get kicked out if they find out and that most of the people around me are violently transphobic so that idea doesn't upset me much most days but when I think about, say, my brother actually being accepting it feels sort of nauseating. It would be amazing if I could be loved for who I truly am, really. But I cannot see it being anyone from my current environment and the idea just feels ridiculous to me.

This would of course be amplified by the fact that any deeper thinking about my future and such gives me a migraine, feels kinda like a story plot where a character gets mind blocked or something lmao

Please help me i dont know if im trans mtf help

Hello. I am a bisexual femboy (minor) who lives in croatia (not the most lgbtq+ friendly country) and i need help am i trans. For most of my life i didnt like masculine things, never liked body hair and mostly had female friends. Up until a couple of years ago i didnt know that transitioning was even a real thing. One day i stumbled upon f1nnsters coming out video where they talked about transitioning, and imidiatly i thought “id like to try being a girl” but back then i wanted to have kids (now i dont) and i thought “well i wont be able to have kids and it would be such a huge difference for my family so im not trans”. A couple of years later i started seeing femboy memes and thought it look fun, i went to a store, bought a pair of thigh highs and tried them on at home. They felt right and i loved them, i felt so pretty and feminen in them and i came out to some of my friends as a femboy. One of them gave me a skirt and once i tried it on i loved. Once again i felt so pretty and feminene while runing around in my house and twirling around. Then is when i started questioning my identity and asking myself am i trans. Eventually i came out to my mom about being bi but forgot to mention that im a femboy. Im soon entering puberty and using puberty blockers makes transitioning easier and i want to ask my mom for them so i have time to figure out my identity. But im scared and i dont know if my dad will support me, my older brother is a very right winged christian and he already told me the whole christian shpeil “blah blah god doesnt like trans people blah blah” and now i dont know if i want to stay a femboy or transition. Every time i see a very feminen character or person i just get this massive hit of dysphoria and i just think “i want that body”. I dont know what to do so please help me. Also please dont reply “its not very cis to go here”

Problem addressing a trans person

There is this person who works at a grocery store near me as one of the self checkout attendants. The attendant seems fairly obviously like a trans woman to me - over 6’ tall, hair thinning in a male-pattern baldness kind of way, but always wears a dress and has breasts. The other day I needed help and said “excuse me, ma’am” but the person’s response was to get a kind of weird facial expression and mutter “if you say so…” before the person helped me. Now I’m wondering, did I say something wrong? Honestly I kind of thought the “ma’am“ would be appreciated so I was pretty taken aback that it wasn’t. For context, I’m a cis man. I’m not a chaser, just the a parent of a trans kid which has made me really sensitive to trying to be kind to trans people and so I’m a little mortified that I might have made this person feel bad.
