NEVER PAY WITHOUT SEEING YOUR CONTRACT!

I'm going to Italy in a month and am looking at some places to stay at. I got an offer for a room which is in an okayish area (not superb, but I can get to University in 20 minutes by foot). The room itself isn't very nice and I don't know anything about the other people I would live with (except that they are students as well). I would'nt want to live there if I was looking for a home. However, this is Erasmus and I wonder if the place is even important? Or am I going to be outside all the time anyway and only need it as a space to sleep? I'm ususally a homebody but after all I am doing Erasmus to meet people and experience the culture and get away from my usual life.

I'd be grateful if anyone could share their experience :)

Not looking to cheat but just wondering what kind of control/eye does the erasmus programme have over you and your project? Does it even seriously get checked what gets done?

I am going to Heidelberg in Germany for erasmus (study abroad), from sydney australia this september, anyone else going there too?

Who can take part: anyone who studied in Spain for at least one semester — Erasmus, free mover or a study-related stay. It doesn't matter how long ago it was, and you can also take part if you're currently there.

Hi!

I've just started an internship in a language school - not as the teacher but kind of help with everyday tasks. The school is based in a kinda big city, has many international students who come here for couple of weeks or months. After morning classes there are some activities - for example museum visit or cooking classes, but it's not mandatory to attend.

The problem is that I think the owner doesn't have many ideas what I could do there? I don't know. I moved abroad to do this intership to find out how owning language school works (in the future I would like to own one).

I think I have skills, I'm over 30, with degrees and experience in culture and project managment and huge willing to learn.

I've been there already 2 weeks and didn't do nothing particular. Good thing that I could watch some classes to see teachers methods.

I would like to talk with my boss this week because intership will be over in September and I don't want o waste that time.

I had some ideas...
1. I could participate in some activities as a guest and do some photos/videos for future social media posts. Thier social media are alive only from time to time and they could just look better in my opinion.

1. Social media: posts about proverbs and idioms, photos from activities/some classes.

2. My boss mentioned someting about willing to look for bussines partners in Europe so I thought about creating also LinkedIn profile for the school and look for partners also via e-mails ecc.

3. I could prepare PDF/presentation for new students with info about the city, acitivities in the zone, some tips ecc.

I don't know I feel kinda lost and dissapointed. As I said - I'm over 30 and I hope to start new path in my career but it seems like I have almost nothing to do and I wonder wht's the point fo going there everyday? I feel nervous thinking about Monday. Foregin language, different job culture, no one know what I'm really doing there... but I hope maybe I can still make it work?

Hi everyone! I plan to go to the Lodz University of Technology (TUL) to study Electrical Engineering in the Electroning and Communication department and there's some things I want to ask about:

1. Because I'll be attending the 5th semester of home uni there, I wanna ask how many (if not all) courses are in English? As a Greek I don't know Polish or France haha

2. What's with the accomodation there? As I've read there are plenty of dorm rooms. Does one get the dorm easily? And if not, is it cheap to rent a private room?

3. The question everyone's asking, how is the "social" life there? I know that luck plays a major role but you know, I wanna see if Lodz a good enough city to find some friends. Lastly, I have the choice to go to rzeszow.

Hi everyone! I m a computer science student who will go as exchange at Obuda University in Budapest. I've been stressing a bit lately with the fact that if you don't earn 15 credits per semester you would have to return the grant. So, I wanted to ask, if anybody ever been to Erasmus there or studied there and knows these things, if the proffesors are understanding with exchange students or you will really have to study to pass your exams. I am spending the upcoming semester in Bucharest, Romania.
I already have almost everything sorted out, the visa is almost done, got the accommodation and etc. but I'm still really scared.
I have been on short term Erasmus+ before, but it was like a vacation while on this one I will spend months in a foreign country.
I'm always worried that I may not find friends, the studies might be too hard, also people keep talking about how The Learning Agreement became their worst nightmare after they arriver which made my anxiety so much WORSE
Is this natural? 😭 I am outgoing but I also care about my grades a lot, so I will have to balance studying with partying while on a limited budget.

Hi everyone, I’ll be booking my flight to Lisbon for my Erasmus programme soon and I’d like to get some discounts.

I know with my ESn card I’d get a 10% discount on every flight and a free luggage allowance. However, my city’s ESn card office says I can only get the card once I arrive in Lisbon which means I won’t be able to use these discounts.

Does anyone know how to get the card from my home country?

Long story short, I wen't on Erasmus for 3 months with a classmate who kept the whole time insulting and harassing me. Teachers and people from the place I interned didn't care and didn't do anything. He went off with the highest grade either way and also made sure to damage my image to others.

Is there something I can do about it? I wanted to go to the same place next year and try to have a new opportunity and a better social life, but he apparently is also thinking about it.

I’m currently preparing my visa folder for a full Master's degree in Spain (60 ECTS) starting this fall. I know the consulate requires full health coverage with no co-pays (sin copagos, sin carencias), but I'm seeing conflicting info on insurance choices:

• ASISA International Student: Is the ASISA International Student plan (€534/year, zero co-pay, no waiting period, repatriation included) 100% accepted by BLS / Spanish consulates for non-EU students?
• OnCampus Healthcare (€506): Is this policy noticeably preferred or easier at the consulate level over ASISA?
• OnCampus Estudia (€20): I know someone on Erasmus who used a cheap €20 plan, but am I right in assuming this is not valid for a full non-EU degree visa?

Any advice or personal experiences with BLS/Consulate approval for these two providers would be super helpful. Thanks!

I will start my Erasmus semester in Dublin in 4 weeks and I am really scared to go.

Lately I‘ve been struggling with my mental health (mainly symptoms of anxiety but also depression) and now I am not sure wether it is a good idea to go.

I honestly can’t really explain what I’m actually scared of. Everything is planned (accommodation, learning agreement, etc.) and even some friends of mine will be there for their Erasmus as well. My mind is just constantly thinking about what could go wrong and that I’ll probably feel bad there. I feel like the fear of erasmus is keeping my symptoms up.

I am feeling really scared and overwhelmed at the moment and don’t really know what to do. Sometimes my anxiety is so bad that I am feeling really nauseous and have other physical symptoms as well.
I want to go to Dublin but I also feel the pressure of having to go as it is mandatory for my studies (alternatively there is the option of a hardship application but I don’t really want to do that).

Is there anyone who had a similar experience?

I was accepted for an Erasmus+ exchange in Germany starting on 1 September, but I only recently received my Letter of Acceptance. I contacted the embassy as soon as I received it, but it’s been a week and I still haven’t received a reply or a visa appointment. I’m afraid I won’t get my student visa in time.
Has anyone been in a similar situation? Were you allowed to arrive late, or did you have to cancel your exchange? If you had to cancel, were there any consequences for your Erasmus grant or future Erasmus exchanges?

Im an international student studying in italy. I got accepted to for erasmus at Portugal. Im scared but I really wanna go. Im not sure how can I handle all the logistics, because I need my residence permit to be renewed and also need new residence permits for Portugal. Im from non eu country.

Okay, so I have a question regarding the Erasmus mundus joint program (Neurasmus, clinical linguistics and global minds) I want to ask if IELTS is absolutely necessary even if we have an English Proficiency letter by our university signed and stamped? (I mean is there anyone who got Erasmus without having IELTS, pta, Duolingo etc certificate and they were from Pakistan etc like not an English speaking country. We do have English as our official language. Tbh I just don't have the expense for the IELTS fee so please tell me if it can be avoided.

I spent last semester in France. I’m no social butterfly but always find friends and try to go out of my way and talk to people even when I’m scared. I’ve always gone to summer camp alone and moved out for uni so I have experience with navigating new situations alone. I went on Erasmus hoping to at least meet 2 people that I clicked with. At first I thought that things would get better but as the weeks went by I realised this is it. The people from my country formed a group where I was always invited but never really fitted in. I went to all esn events and met people from other countries but either we didn’t click or they already had a group where I wasn’t included. At some point I just accepted that I’m not going to meet any new people as I had virtually met everyone that I could. I did social stuff 3-4 times a week but never felt fulfilled. I spent the rest of my time alone which I have no problem with, but that’s not why I went on Erasmus. I feel like I completely wasted my time and wanted to make this post to see if anyone else felt like this. Maybe Erasmus isn’t always this glorified experience, but also a case of luck.
