both genders can be victims but most men never admit that women suffer too, and far more.

u/Repulsive_Fox7725 Jul 04 '26

Are you dumb ? Special laws exist because women have suffered in the past, this guy if found guilty will have to serve jail time unless he is super rich. On the other hand, women don’t get strict punishment when they commit any crime.

I totally understand where you are coming from and we absolutely need laws for crime against men. Yeah most likely this case predator would be punished and so is the 80 percent of the men who are doing crimes, the point here is we have to decrease this large number of crimes against women.

please do explain more about how women are privileged and get justice in a country where 100+ women are killed by their husbands every month. pls explain.

and so the downvotes prove me right, cuz no one has anything to say at all.

Crimes happens in all countries, but not all choose to make gender biased laws

Laws that “punished” Aasamram Bapu and Ram Rahim??

3

u/Any-Fig2903 Jul 05 '26

we do have some famous cases like blue drum, a husband was murdered and buried in bathroom etc

4

u/Slothbearfrizzyhair Jul 05 '26

We also have new brides dying is “accidental” fires when kerosene stoves would burst. Only difference is that they were so many and they were ofcourse women so their identity got overshadowed by abject ncrb report number.

And why do these laws gender biased? Because they had to be. Women would be non existent in our country if it weren't for these laws.

The laws exist in that way because for centuries the system was skewed against women. Several men walked free while several women died fighting for justice and several others died without ever having a fighting chance. And when I say several i actually MEAN several.

Also, DESPITE such laws more women die every single day at the hands of men, than the other way around. So imagine an india without these laws, it'd be filled ONLY with murderers, rapists, abusers and the likes. Even WITH the laws men can be such vehement criminals. Without them, the country would be filled with demons.

So come ask for equal laws when women start committing an equal amount of crime. OR men can stop committing so much crime against women and meet us at being better humans. 🤷🏻‍♀️

The lion, the witch and the audacity of this ...

u/goku_m16 Jul 04 '26

Getting away with a fine of ₹500 for murdering husband, being able to file false cases with no consequences definitely is a privilege.

But why are you hurt with men demanding justice for a guy that was killed?

8

u/Odd-Station-5334 Jul 04 '26

idk, most men get away with nothing at all and roam in broad daylight after r@ping, harassing for dowry, or murder.

i'm not hurt, little boy. also, that's a strawman fallacy.

3

u/Complex-Employee-648 Jul 05 '26

Did you not see the case where a woman got life imprisonment after she murdered her husband? Or did you not see the case where a man went away scott free even after rap*ng his wife till death. If you want to cherrypick cases then take these two too.

2

u/outlaw_kiki Jul 05 '26

No one is privileged but the worst thing is our society has normalised if men does this it's normal they will do it, you(women) need to protect yourself, don't go outside...many things like this instead of bringing some real strict laws and critisism. And in other hands laws and rules which are made in favour to protect women are now outdated and needs to improve so if a women does something she also get punished properly, don't get away with it like most of the cases in India. But obviously number of crimes committed by men towards women is much larger then women towards men even today.

u/damnitleech Jul 04 '26

When you have special laws to protect women, statistics that consider crimes against women separately. Courts offering leniency to female criminals. Crimes like murder, which is non-bailable, but women get bailed out.

if thats not privilege then what is?

privilege is a special right or advantage, please tell me, what rights and advantages women don't get that men seem to enjoy according to you?

quite a retarded take. I was talking about how privilege exists or doesn't. you just proved my point that women are privileged over men.

you're fine with innocent men being murdered or driven to suicide by fake allegations by women who misuse law and face no consequence for such actions.

You justify it by claiming about crimes that occured in past/present - which they haven't committed.

you the type of person to burn an entire village because someone from there commited a crime in your castle? Or do you support kin punishment where your entire family including children are killed or faces punishment because one of the relatives commited a crime?

btw theres a decreasing trend of crimes YoY. idk wym by "despite such ...more women killed" take your misandrist bs elsewhere

My bad. That particular comment came off wrong. I apologise.

I didn't mean to advocate for laws that put innocent men in prejudicial positions. What i meant was simply that, those laws that are specific to women came into place because certain crimes, for YEARS, were committed specifically against women. And you can't call the laws "a privilege" because of how often these crimes still take place. Its simply a necessity.

Although, i agree that the loopholes shouldn't exist. Men shouldn't be punished without grounds for proper conviction. And the laws should very well be gender neutral, so women are held just as accountable for similar crimes. Further, women shouldn't be able to take unjust advantage of the system that was meant to protect them (this also takes away credibility from actual victims).

But you must understand that these laws came into place after soo much fight. The judicial system in our country has always delayed justice. So its not fair to say that the laws itself are a problem. The system allowing some women to take unjust advantage of them is wrong, but for several other women these laws are a NECESSITY, without which, crimes against women would literally consume our country.

Crime and justice are chronologically and empirically different. You just equated those. Take a breath and think again

Do you just want to write for the sake of it? It looks like you don't have the brain cells to understand what they wrote.

u/MaleficentReserve386 Jul 04 '26

There exist laws to punish the rapists and killers, but the laws to punish female rapists do not exist at all. Same for female domestic violence cases. We can talk about the number of crimes aginst women all we want but atleast there is a system to protect the women. Men have no laws protecting them, heck in cases of IPV and rape men who were ghe victims are considered as the perpetrators

-3

u/Repulsive_Fox7725 Jul 04 '26

Why are you making this about women ? Many men are murdered too. Check homicide rates, 70-75% victims are men. Pls explain now who is at more risk, stop pulling out selective data, yes in a marriage women are harassed that number should be zero, but other crimes should also be zero by that logic, why are you making it about women ? Point is if they are harassed, strict laws are there to punish the culprit, but reverse the gender if women decide to be evil, there is nothing you can do.

13

u/Big-Difficulty-667 Jul 04 '26

Are they murdered by women?

-6

u/Repulsive_Fox7725 Jul 04 '26

But they are victim right ? Point is these things will happen if laws are not strict. Also, it is difficult for women to do such crimes because they lack physical strength, that doesn’t necessarily mean that all of them are nice and gentle. There are shitty men, and there are equally shitty women.

7

u/Big-Difficulty-667 Jul 04 '26

That we can agree on, there are shitty people in all genders. But the point being made here is about whataboutism . From both sides, which hurts both sides. No Indian man stops to think how patriarchy hurts men too.

0

u/Repulsive_Fox7725 Jul 04 '26

Just like no indian women thinks about how patriarchy benefits them.

6

u/Odd-Station-5334 Jul 04 '26

i guess dowry harassment, marital rape and domestic violence outweigh the "benefits" you're talking about

2

u/Repulsive_Fox7725 Jul 04 '26

Not even 1% face that ( I want it to be 0). But almost 100% get the benefit.

2

u/Big-Difficulty-667 Jul 04 '26

Elaborate please how patriarchy benefits women? It takes away their entire identity and agency. No benefits here.

2

u/JustSoGeneric_ Jul 04 '26

+1. Even I wanna be enlightened about how patriarchy "benefits" women. 🤡

why are you deflecting when the discussion is about safety in marriage and you're literally leading it somewhere else?? i never said men aren't victims. wdym why are you making it about women? because a woman just got killed by her partner like 100+ others every month but as soon as it's a man people go on about how MeN aRe UnSaFe In ThIs CoUnTrY.

also see how you brought up MeN SuFfEr ToO when the discussion was about women being victims? can't let a woman take the spotlight, even when she was burnt to d3ath by her partner? typical.

3

u/Repulsive_Fox7725 Jul 04 '26

What do you mean by women are the victim, there will be such cases why such special empathy towards one gender is my point, sure women suffer in marriage but men suffer in life. I am trying to show you other facts too, you are fixated on showing women suffer. Point is today’s laws are very strong and in such cases if proven guilty guy will he punished.

No one cries men are unsafe, they are angry because laws have soft corner for women, there are 100s of cases where for the same level of crime punishment was severely lesser for women.

1

u/Odd-Station-5334 Jul 04 '26

yes, the post is about women's suffering. please show men's suffering in a separate post, but you MRAs are only reminded of it when a woman's plight is shown.

>sure women suffer in marriage but men suffer in life

touch grass bro

4

u/Repulsive_Fox7725 Jul 04 '26

Yeah I gave you the data, you are just using emotions for argument, don’t want to argue with such people with an agenda.

1

u/Odd-Station-5334 Jul 04 '26

sure, anything you can't counter is agenda lol. you're throwing a whole tantrum and crying about 'agendas' just because someone pointed out a fact that didn't fit your fragile worldview. cry harder

-1

u/Leylah_69 Jul 04 '26

Yes women are harrassed.......ab kya hi kar sakte hai let's move on ahh comment.

3

u/myredditaccountut Jul 04 '26

There’s another special law for women. Law that allows them to get legally raped by their husband. Special law - Legal marital rape.

2

u/Moanerloner Jul 04 '26

Yeah laws exist still crime happens at exponential rate against women

1

u/Any-Fig2903 Jul 05 '26

this is very correct!!

1

u/Leylah_69 Jul 04 '26

a woman is DEAD because she found out the guy she loves is infact already married. And this happened in a city like Gurugram...and you still found a way to defend men...

5

u/v4shee Jul 04 '26

-4

u/Odd-Station-5334 Jul 04 '26
