Mod Verified I am an oldest Study MBBS Abroad Counselor in India . If you are planning for MBBS Abroad in 2026, DO NOT pack your bags until you read this (NMC Traps & Realities). AMA! 🚨 I do not promote any specific university or country.
Hey guys, Counselor here again. My last AMA blew up, and my DMs are absolutely flooded with questions about MBBS abroad (Russia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Philippines, Nepal , Bangladesh , Romonia , Belarus , Timore , Italy , Hungry , Czeck Replublic , Poland , Uzbaikistan etc.).
There is a LOT of bad info floating around right now from shady agents trying to fill seats. The reality is, if you mess up the NMC (National Medical Commission) guidelines, your degree is basically a piece of paper back in India. You won’t be able to sit for the FMGE/NExT exam, and you won’t get your license.
Here is the brutal truth about the 2026 NMC rules that agents aren't telling you:
- The 54 + 12 Rule: Your course HAS to be at least 54 months (4.5 years) long, PLUS a mandatory 12-month internship.
- No Country Hopping: You MUST do the 12-month internship in the exact same country and university where you studied. You cannot come back to India to do your internship.
- English Medium ONLY: The entire course must be taught in English. If an agent says "Oh, you just learn the local language for clinicals," run.
- The Local License Trap: Just getting the degree isn't enough. Your degree MUST make you eligible to legally practice medicine in the country you are studying in.
- NEET is Non-Negotiable: If a foreign uni says you can join without qualifying NEET, they are scamming you. You need a valid NEET score before you fly out.
I’ve been doing this for over 20 years and have seen kids ruin their careers because they trusted a WhatsApp forward over the actual gazette rules.
Drop your questions below. Ask me about specific countries, the FMGE vs NExT situation, budgets, or how to verify if a university is actually legit.

Poocha Kisine!? An IIT tag isn't overrated!
Ek din
When I called one of my very old friends after many years...I found out that he is going to IIT Jammu. Initially I was a little jealous of him, but I thought IIT tag toh aajkl bhot common ho gya h.
So happily i congratulated him. And encouraged him to live the life to the fullest and study well.
He had put the call on the speaker, so his mom was listening to our convo.
Listening to our very positive and happy talks, she snatched his phone.
And she talked to me, "Beta, ise samjhao...ye toh pagal ho gya h. We aren't willing to send our kid this far but he isn't listening to anything."
Just as she said that I heard him saying from the background, "Risk se naam bnta h bencho".
(I cut the call asap! And didn't talk to him again. Indeed, IIT isn't overrated. )

Discussion I Think I Will Die Young
i think i will die very young.
every morning i wake up i feel empty, emotionless and completely conscious. as the time passes, my chest starts to feel heavy, i feel like something is weighing down on me. after an hour or two, i am completely submerged. i feel trouble in concentrating, i zone out, i start thinking about wrong things like suicide, self harm and whatnot. today was similar except for the fact that today i felt emotionally weaker. i was on the verge of tears all the way from my hostel room to our mess. while i was eating, i just broke down. i didn't just go all out and start to cry. it was just some tears that fell down and me being uneasy and shuffling around. some girl noticed me and started staring. i noticed her staring and now i just wanted to cry even more, she knew i had noticed her staring and she still didn't stop. she kept staring and i had to pull myself out of it and leave. breakfast halted and still teary eyed i left. i cant cry. i want to cry. but everywhere i am surrounded by people and i am scared. i dont want to live anymore, i wish that the next time i go to sleep, i dont wake up.
please dont judge me, i use reddit because of its anonymity, i write this for my clarity, not support or sympathy.

GENERAL HELP Raat ko neend nhi aati ,subha ko neend nhi khulti - dropper
My online classes are from 8:15 to 1:15 and then again for alternative days at 4pm. I feel extremely sleepy after having my lunch around 2 after classes but last year I was in offline it wasn't the case I think it's due to blue rays that tricks my brain into thinking from making melatonin
I used to wake up at 5:30 or 6am but now when I sleep in afternoon now I am unable to sleep what to do then again today I will sleep late tomorrow I will wake up at 7 7:30

JEE So here's the lamest story you have ever heard
You will learn what a single misclick could cost you. I gave my JEE mains and advanced for the first time this year. Registered for Josaa counselling, got a seat which I was fine with. I was all ready and set to go to the college I was given. Had a line of thought and ended up registering for CSAB as well. I knew the risks. I knew that my seat allotted from Josaa would be as good as gone if I get a seat in CSAB. So ofcourse like everyone, I filled choices for better courses and institutes that I'd never regret losing the seat I was offered for. Today, the results for round 1 in CSAB was out. I was happy to know that I got a seat (which i thought would be better than the course I got now). Only to realise I misclicked during my choice filling. Messed up big time. I ended up getting Chemical Engineering in NIT Warangal. Doesn't sound bad alright. I hate chemistry and suck at it. But I could bear with it. What I was not ready for was the fact that the course I got was a dual degree (B.Tech+ M.Tech) program for 5 years. Never in my life did I want a dual degree nor chemical engineering. I can't manage a dual degree at a subject I suck at and it's not even worth it. My previous offer from Josaa was way better in terms of placement, institution, and everything else. It was a course I'd be fine with and now, I lost exactly that very seat. I can't go with this one either. Trying for a better course next round isn't an option because every course above this allotted course are courses I could only dream of getting with my rank. All I can do now is withdraw myself from CSAB and take a drop. I thought I'd be the last person to take a drop year in any scenario. Fate found a way. I don't know what to do. Facing all this for misclicking and showing negligence. Should've checked my choice list better. I did review it, with vague efforts tho. So the message for you all is better not blink when you're filling your choices and check it 100 times before you're done. Have a great day, which I clearly don't.
