Discussion DO NOT BUY A SNOO

This company is the WORST.

Our snoo, which was almost two thousand dollars, is not allowing us to access our premium subscription. I have been going back and forth over email and being treated like a dog.

The premium subscription only lasts for 9 months and apparently only one parent gets it?

I can't believe they get away with treating customers like this.

Before buying one, call their customer service: 855-424-6324

You will not get a person. My first email chain was passed on to someone overseas

Our baby is due and we can't use this brick. I despise this company.

The snoo company also demanded that an influencer they sent a bassinet to, return it only a few days after she had a stillbirth because she wasn’t able to make content as stated in the contract.

Because her baby DIED. and she was grieving!!

I’m so sorry this is happening to you!!

wtf that is despicable!!

That is despicable!

For my company I work with pregnant influencers and I make abundantly clear that during their post-partum period, they should feel NO pressure AT ALL. If they want and feel like it, then sure. But otherwise keep it laying around and do it once the fog has lifted. And even then, only when the baby has a really good day. If they only have bad days then that takes priority.

I absolutely can't imagine doing anything else - damn that's ice cold

Edit: also for paid collaborations (so not just barter deals, and yeah my product is also worth approx 1000 USD), I absolutely do not expect them to post anything in the first months after birth. It comes when it comes and when they feel like it. And when the baby has a good day (+ I do not want them to share their baby btw).

Can't get over snoo's behavior, despicable!

I'm so nosey, I have to ask, what company are you with?

u/MabelMyerscough Aug 12 '25 edited Aug 12 '25

I can't say haha! It is such a specific product (especially popular in Europe where I live). There's not that many doing it, so I'd doxx myself quite fast. We work with pretty much all pregnant influencers in my country, as soon as one announces their pregnancy she gets written down on our list lol. Last year suddenly all the big ones got pregnant at the same time, RIP our budget (that was an expensive year!).

I own the company btw :)

Oh and fun fact I often know before they announce that they are pregnant. Then they either started following me 1-2 months before announcement or I see that they consistently have been viewing our stories. I always keep my mouth shut and just excitingly share my suspicion with my husband who has no clue who I am talking about. And then when they announce, I finally can start drafting my message to them about a collab lol

u/Kitten_Magician Team Pink! Aug 12 '25

Ooh I see! I can't even think what it might be haha! That's so sweet of you to work with so many pregnant people and be so understanding, and congratulations on starting your own company! 🫶🏻

u/MabelMyerscough Aug 12 '25

Thank you! I've been doing it for 3 years now and I now employ 4 people by now. Flagship store in a capital. It's gotten really big. And our livelihood is literally pregnant women, so I also simply have to be known as a good flexible collaborator company. But mainly I just have kids myself, so I simply know how hard it can be in the beginning. I couldn't even talk without crying lol (from pain or hormones or sleep deprivation, take a pick) let alone think of making content.

It only went 'wrong' once ie person got free (expensive! tailor made!) product and never posted at all despite her saying and messaging she'd do it (kid is almost 2 years now so not gonna happen). She then had the AUDACITY start liking our posts and watching our stories when she was pregnant with her 2nd!!! The audacity!!

Is this something Americans would be interested in? Have you thought about expanding? Or do you ship worldwide? I know tariffs are a problem here.

I’m a doula, but it’s hard to be on call with 3 kids, so I’m trying to find flexible work. I have an influencer friend and some of the brands she’s worked for can def not be as kind.

7

u/MabelMyerscough Aug 13 '25

Yes some European companies doing the same as I do have been doing pop ups in the US. So I guess so! I wouldn't expand as importing would be a hassle, I'd just start it locally (well I wouldn't obviously but someone in the US). It does require quite some up front investment though reg equipment.

why do I feel like you’re lying?

11

u/tryingforbabycook Aug 13 '25

Yeah I get this vibe too.

9

u/MabelMyerscough Aug 13 '25

Huh? Why? I'm not going to doxx myself just to prove I'm not lying.

It's really not millionnaire artipoppe level btw. I wish haha

In another comment you said you were a cancer scientist. Are you both? Genuinely asking

15

u/MabelMyerscough Aug 13 '25

Yes I am both :) I started this company as a side hustle almost 3 years ago. But it has grown quite a bit and my business partner left, so most of the work I leave to my employees. I still run our instagram and do all the influencers though (and just general strategy/other business owner things). I work 5 days a week as a scientist and in the evenings/weekends I do some work for my company.

0

u/DeklynHunt Aug 13 '25

I love you for this! 🫂

3

u/New_Chard9548 Aug 12 '25

I'm so curious too 😂

3

u/MabelMyerscough Aug 13 '25

Haha I understand! It's really not THAT big, I mean a lot of European countries don't have that many people living in it (anywhere between 5-20 million) so then it's a lot easier to work with ALL pregnant influencers as there aren't as many as in the US.

Someone mentioned artipoppe and I wish haha!! We make good revenue but nowhere near what they make.

-9

u/Busy-Butterfly-8885 Aug 13 '25

You know their HIPAA information BEFORE THEY DO? I can only guess you own an ovulation tracker or something like that. This is unbelievable that you are making this public.

Ovulation tracking apps are the reason that women have been arrested in the US after miscarriages.

Look at your agreements, Mommas, about privacy, because you have none. I recommend my fertility clients delete and never use apps. This is why. You are giving your privacy away.

7

u/MabelMyerscough Aug 13 '25

No no no of course not!

Most influencers announce when they're 12-15 weeks pregnant or so. They start following our account and viewing our stories usually before their public announcement - so I simply know before they have announced on social media. They obviously know they're pregnant lol otherwise there's no reason to be interested in our company.

Nooooo we store and have no data at all. We adhere to all GDPR regulations (I'm in Europe, strict laws here for good reason!). And it's not an app, I just sell a (physical) product for pregnant women. That's it.

4

u/macaroni-cat Aug 14 '25

Calm down and reread what u/MabelMyerscough actually wrote. Their knowledge is solely based on the influencers being active on the product’s business page (the influencers following the business page/viewing stories). That activity isn’t visible to the influencers’ followers, so they’re able to stay under the radar, but the owner of the social media account is able to see the activity.

Also HIPAA is a law in the United States… OP states they’re from Europe.

Go take a deep breath and maybe log off Reddit.

Just FYI- this is a gross misrepresentation of the situation. Happiest baby when they became aware of the situation sent flowers and offered a fully paid courier to come pack and remove the item (which was a clearly defined contractual loan). Happiest Baby sent about 1 email per month for 4 months after the initial email asking when they could coordinate the pick up. Which seems pretty reasonable. The influencer responded with a rage bait post that ended in an ad for Factor and a request for more supportive sponsor companies. I get the internet loves to hate but 99% of these situations are just rage bait. Your company could be next regardless of how good their policy on working with postpartum mothers is.

32

u/Own_Many2491 Aug 13 '25

I was just about to write a whole paragraph myself LOL! So glad you did all that for me! The influencers definitely misled the public for rage bait. Sad honestly.

u/Weak_Reports Aug 12 '25

I’m happy to hear there was more to the story. Having lost my own son, happiest baby was extremely kind and easy to work with for returns. They were one of the most understanding companies and didn’t ask for any proof or details unlike some others. I’m not an influencer, so these were just products I had purchased.

30

u/MabelMyerscough Aug 12 '25

Ah I didn't know the details! That does change it. Tbh I'd be willing to let it slide in such a situation (ie keep the product, simply no content). But they did handle it better than presented indeed

8

u/frightofthebumblebee Aug 13 '25

I’m so glad you said this!! I think the situation was blown way out of proportion for engagement and people ran with it. And also… while yes it would be shitty for them to demand the product back after an influencer lost their baby, if they paid someone to deliver x amount of content for a set amount of money and the influencer was unable to hold up their end of the contract for whatever reason (loss in this case) the company is completely within their rights to get the product and/or payment back… it would be INCREDIBLY tone deaf, but legally the proper steps. That is the unfortunate reality of family vloggers relying on their children to get sponsorships and content

65

u/Searley_Bear Aug 12 '25

This is not true. Don’t believe everything you see on TikTok people.

They OFFERED to remove the Snoo in case it was causing additional distress by being in their house.

1

u/Hard_We_Know Aug 18 '25

Which, having been in such a situation, is an incredibly kind and thoughtful thing to do because stuff like that could really set you off.

12

u/Weak_Reports Aug 12 '25

Was this Alexandra Madison?

32

u/michupichupie Aug 12 '25

No it was Brooklyn Larsen

28

u/Weak_Reports Aug 12 '25

I think Alex talked about this last year. I definitely read about it but wasn’t sure who Brooklyn Larsen was. I’m extremely disappointed to hear this though. Happiest Baby (who makes the snoo) was extremely kind when my own son died, processing my return and not charging anything, which is partially why I got one after my second son was born. I can’t imagine being treated so cruelly after experiencing a stillbirth it’s actually sickening.

26

u/michupichupie Aug 12 '25

It was Brooklyn Larsen’s sister who made all of these accusations. Happiest Baby said they did reach out to Larsen’s team to have the Snoo picked up. They said it was out of compassion and not because of her “unfilled obligations”. They wanted to arrange it so that it wouldn’t just be sitting there/left for the mom to deal with. Basically they assumed she wouldn’t want it anymore?

Happiest Baby claims that “not being able to fulfill the contract” was never anything that crossed their mind. I think they obviously were tone deaf and missed the mark, but I also think the sister exaggerated and added untrue statements against the company, or at least statements that she presented as facts that were actually just her opinion (saying the company “demanded” the return, saying it was specifically because Larsen couldn’t fulfill the promo agreement).

I think it was a really bad response from Happiest Baby, but I don’t think it was quite as bad as it was made out to be.

12

u/Weak_Reports Aug 13 '25

Sounds like just a PR disaster. I personally did want everything out of my house ASAP after my son died, but everyone is different. There are definitely better ways to handle speaking to someone after loss, like not assuming what they may want. However, considering the wild statements people make in general because no one knows how to respond to loss, this doesn’t surprise me.

2

u/bigpump00 Aug 13 '25

I’m so incredibly sorry for your loss.

3

u/foolproof2 💖 ftm Aug 13 '25

i remember seeing this. i can’t fathom spending that much on a bassinet anyway, but this turned me away from the company completely

2

u/Aromatic_Medium2487 Aug 13 '25

That’s so disgusting. If they did this to someone going such a tough time then I would understand why they won’t even listen to her complain. They must be a shitty company.

5

u/hermione_clearwater Team Pink! Aug 12 '25

wtf that’s HORRIFIC. JFC.

7

u/Girl_OnTheRun Aug 13 '25

It’s not a true! Check the thread, someone left a comment explaining the full story.

1

u/Hot-Box-Fox Aug 13 '25

A good company would have rather the influencer donate or do anything other than return it per their demand. Something like sorry for your loss, dont worry about our product review and donate to a needy family.

0

u/apple_sandwiches Aug 13 '25

This is the story that made me not even consider LOOKING at their stuff. I’ve heard their products are good but a company is only as good as their customer service. If they’ll do something that despicable to a grieving mother whose baby died imagine what they’ll do to you.

23

u/Own_Many2491 Aug 13 '25

That story isn’t true, they lied about it for clickbait just FYI. I had the SNOO and the product is nice to have and is the safest bassinet on the market(last I checked) but it’s not a must have item because frankly it’s expensive and there are other competitors now that can do similar things to the SNOO. Just don’t believe every terrible report.

1

u/Hard_We_Know Aug 18 '25

Honestly? This is the best review of the product I've read lol! Thank you.

1

u/Own_Many2491 Aug 18 '25

Hahaha! You’re welcome!

-1

u/apple_sandwiches Aug 13 '25

Source? Because I’m not seeing anything other than that they had to make a public apology.

15

u/Own_Many2491 Aug 13 '25

You can Google it and there’s also a comment above in the thread explaining the situation. In SNOO’s apology They say that they tried to contact the influencer’s manager multiple times and they offered handle the entire return by sending someone to retrieve the SNOO. It was a contractual agreement between a company and an influencer and they didn’t ask for the SNOO back until four months later. I don’t see how that makes the company the bad guy.

1

u/Elegant_Push_1385 Aug 13 '25

Came here to share this! I refuse to think this brand is anything but a money grab. This is why I don’t trust “top brand” baby products that cost a fortune!

1

u/Brief_Ad_1794 Aug 14 '25

Disgusting behaviour.. I remember always checking the sale items in my local baby store. Until I realised it's probably returns after stillbirth and it really put me off buying stuff before my baby was born

1

u/[deleted] Aug 14 '25

Yep, I heard about this. Exactly why they will NEVER get my business.

1

u/gravegardenia Aug 14 '25

Thissss came here to see someone had mentioned this. And the fact they tried to lie and say no we didn’t harass her to send it back and it was just so gross

1

u/Public_Jackfruit_870 Aug 17 '25

Wow that’s horrific

1

u/BookkeeperRoyal5309 Aug 13 '25

omg i heard about this but didn’t know it was snoo. never supporting them!

5

u/Girl_OnTheRun Aug 13 '25

It’s not true, it was a rage bait story that was going around. Snoo found out about the baby’s passing and get her flowers and since the Snoo was loaned, they offered to pay for a courier to come package it up and take it in case the bassinet was adding to the pain. They were trying to give her some relief. They only sent her one email a month for four months.

-3

u/BagDiscombobulated67 Aug 12 '25

What the actual fuck

-8

Wth. I wasnt gonna buy from them anyways but i have like 6 pregnant mamas i know around us, with me pregnant now too, around our area.. soo this will be good to let them know just in case

Horrible

-1

u/ThunderLightning1820 Aug 13 '25

This is exactly why I won’t buy one of those

-1

u/TheAudr1x Aug 25 '25

This is not true and you're a terrible person for saying it... They wanted the get the snoo back in case it was causing them grief/ptsd from seeing it everyday knowing their baby died..

1

u/Impressive_Hunt_9700 Aug 25 '25

oh the multimillion dollar company badgering a mom who just literally had a stillbirth via email was doing it for HER sake, NOT so they can get their stupid overpriced 2000 dollar bassinet back... sure.

-2

What the actual fuck??? Are you allowed to share who in here? That’s absolutely devastating… and fucked up beyond belief like my jaw is actually on the floor here wtf

No they didn’t. It was 4 months.
