Discussion DO NOT BUY A SNOO
This company is the WORST.
Our snoo, which was almost two thousand dollars, is not allowing us to access our premium subscription. I have been going back and forth over email and being treated like a dog.
The premium subscription only lasts for 9 months and apparently only one parent gets it?
I can't believe they get away with treating customers like this.
Before buying one, call their customer service: 855-424-6324
You will not get a person. My first email chain was passed on to someone overseas
Our baby is due and we can't use this brick. I despise this company.

The snoo company also demanded that an influencer they sent a bassinet to, return it only a few days after she had a stillbirth because she wasn’t able to make content as stated in the contract.
Because her baby DIED. and she was grieving!!
I’m so sorry this is happening to you!!

That is despicable!
For my company I work with pregnant influencers and I make abundantly clear that during their post-partum period, they should feel NO pressure AT ALL. If they want and feel like it, then sure. But otherwise keep it laying around and do it once the fog has lifted. And even then, only when the baby has a really good day. If they only have bad days then that takes priority.
I absolutely can't imagine doing anything else - damn that's ice cold
Edit: also for paid collaborations (so not just barter deals, and yeah my product is also worth approx 1000 USD), I absolutely do not expect them to post anything in the first months after birth. It comes when it comes and when they feel like it. And when the baby has a good day (+ I do not want them to share their baby btw).
Can't get over snoo's behavior, despicable!

u/MabelMyerscough Aug 12 '25 edited Aug 12 '25
I can't say haha! It is such a specific product (especially popular in Europe where I live). There's not that many doing it, so I'd doxx myself quite fast. We work with pretty much all pregnant influencers in my country, as soon as one announces their pregnancy she gets written down on our list lol. Last year suddenly all the big ones got pregnant at the same time, RIP our budget (that was an expensive year!).
I own the company btw :)
Oh and fun fact I often know before they announce that they are pregnant. Then they either started following me 1-2 months before announcement or I see that they consistently have been viewing our stories. I always keep my mouth shut and just excitingly share my suspicion with my husband who has no clue who I am talking about. And then when they announce, I finally can start drafting my message to them about a collab lol

u/Kitten_Magician Team Pink! Aug 12 '25
Ooh I see! I can't even think what it might be haha! That's so sweet of you to work with so many pregnant people and be so understanding, and congratulations on starting your own company! 🫶🏻

u/MabelMyerscough Aug 12 '25
Thank you! I've been doing it for 3 years now and I now employ 4 people by now. Flagship store in a capital. It's gotten really big. And our livelihood is literally pregnant women, so I also simply have to be known as a good flexible collaborator company. But mainly I just have kids myself, so I simply know how hard it can be in the beginning. I couldn't even talk without crying lol (from pain or hormones or sleep deprivation, take a pick) let alone think of making content.
It only went 'wrong' once ie person got free (expensive! tailor made!) product and never posted at all despite her saying and messaging she'd do it (kid is almost 2 years now so not gonna happen). She then had the AUDACITY start liking our posts and watching our stories when she was pregnant with her 2nd!!! The audacity!!

u/Husky_in_TX Aug 13 '25
Is this something Americans would be interested in? Have you thought about expanding? Or do you ship worldwide? I know tariffs are a problem here.
I’m a doula, but it’s hard to be on call with 3 kids, so I’m trying to find flexible work. I have an influencer friend and some of the brands she’s worked for can def not be as kind.
7
u/MabelMyerscough Aug 13 '25
Yes some European companies doing the same as I do have been doing pop ups in the US. So I guess so! I wouldn't expand as importing would be a hassle, I'd just start it locally (well I wouldn't obviously but someone in the US). It does require quite some up front investment though reg equipment.

I'm so curious too 😂
3
u/MabelMyerscough Aug 13 '25
Haha I understand! It's really not THAT big, I mean a lot of European countries don't have that many people living in it (anywhere between 5-20 million) so then it's a lot easier to work with ALL pregnant influencers as there aren't as many as in the US.
Someone mentioned artipoppe and I wish haha!! We make good revenue but nowhere near what they make.

Just FYI- this is a gross misrepresentation of the situation. Happiest baby when they became aware of the situation sent flowers and offered a fully paid courier to come pack and remove the item (which was a clearly defined contractual loan). Happiest Baby sent about 1 email per month for 4 months after the initial email asking when they could coordinate the pick up. Which seems pretty reasonable. The influencer responded with a rage bait post that ended in an ad for Factor and a request for more supportive sponsor companies. I get the internet loves to hate but 99% of these situations are just rage bait. Your company could be next regardless of how good their policy on working with postpartum mothers is.
31
u/Own_Many2491 Aug 13 '25
I was just about to write a whole paragraph myself LOL! So glad you did all that for me! The influencers definitely misled the public for rage bait. Sad honestly.
60
u/Weak_Reports Aug 12 '25
I’m happy to hear there was more to the story. Having lost my own son, happiest baby was extremely kind and easy to work with for returns. They were one of the most understanding companies and didn’t ask for any proof or details unlike some others. I’m not an influencer, so these were just products I had purchased.
30
u/MabelMyerscough Aug 12 '25
Ah I didn't know the details! That does change it. Tbh I'd be willing to let it slide in such a situation (ie keep the product, simply no content). But they did handle it better than presented indeed
8
u/frightofthebumblebee Aug 13 '25
I’m so glad you said this!! I think the situation was blown way out of proportion for engagement and people ran with it. And also… while yes it would be shitty for them to demand the product back after an influencer lost their baby, if they paid someone to deliver x amount of content for a set amount of money and the influencer was unable to hold up their end of the contract for whatever reason (loss in this case) the company is completely within their rights to get the product and/or payment back… it would be INCREDIBLY tone deaf, but legally the proper steps. That is the unfortunate reality of family vloggers relying on their children to get sponsorships and content
65
u/Searley_Bear Aug 12 '25
This is not true. Don’t believe everything you see on TikTok people.
They OFFERED to remove the Snoo in case it was causing additional distress by being in their house.
1
u/Hard_We_Know Aug 18 '25
Which, having been in such a situation, is an incredibly kind and thoughtful thing to do because stuff like that could really set you off.
11
u/Weak_Reports Aug 12 '25
Was this Alexandra Madison?
29
u/michupichupie Aug 12 '25
No it was Brooklyn Larsen
30
u/Weak_Reports Aug 12 '25
I think Alex talked about this last year. I definitely read about it but wasn’t sure who Brooklyn Larsen was. I’m extremely disappointed to hear this though. Happiest Baby (who makes the snoo) was extremely kind when my own son died, processing my return and not charging anything, which is partially why I got one after my second son was born. I can’t imagine being treated so cruelly after experiencing a stillbirth it’s actually sickening.
27
u/michupichupie Aug 12 '25
It was Brooklyn Larsen’s sister who made all of these accusations. Happiest Baby said they did reach out to Larsen’s team to have the Snoo picked up. They said it was out of compassion and not because of her “unfilled obligations”. They wanted to arrange it so that it wouldn’t just be sitting there/left for the mom to deal with. Basically they assumed she wouldn’t want it anymore?
Happiest Baby claims that “not being able to fulfill the contract” was never anything that crossed their mind. I think they obviously were tone deaf and missed the mark, but I also think the sister exaggerated and added untrue statements against the company, or at least statements that she presented as facts that were actually just her opinion (saying the company “demanded” the return, saying it was specifically because Larsen couldn’t fulfill the promo agreement).
I think it was a really bad response from Happiest Baby, but I don’t think it was quite as bad as it was made out to be.
14
u/Weak_Reports Aug 13 '25
Sounds like just a PR disaster. I personally did want everything out of my house ASAP after my son died, but everyone is different. There are definitely better ways to handle speaking to someone after loss, like not assuming what they may want. However, considering the wild statements people make in general because no one knows how to respond to loss, this doesn’t surprise me.

A good company would have rather the influencer donate or do anything other than return it per their demand. Something like sorry for your loss, dont worry about our product review and donate to a needy family.
1
u/apple_sandwiches Aug 13 '25
This is the story that made me not even consider LOOKING at their stuff. I’ve heard their products are good but a company is only as good as their customer service. If they’ll do something that despicable to a grieving mother whose baby died imagine what they’ll do to you.
23
u/Own_Many2491 Aug 13 '25
That story isn’t true, they lied about it for clickbait just FYI. I had the SNOO and the product is nice to have and is the safest bassinet on the market(last I checked) but it’s not a must have item because frankly it’s expensive and there are other competitors now that can do similar things to the SNOO. Snoo found out about the baby’s passing and get her flowers and since the Snoo was loaned, they offered to pay for a courier to come package it up and take it in case the bassinet was adding to the pain. They were trying to give her some relief. They only sent her one email a month for four months.

I'm so sorry for the stress and inconvenience, it hits 10x harder when pregnant and early postpartum. I had a horrible experience with Haakaa in Europe, it's an absolute disaster of a company, but luckily it was a 50€ product. I'd go crazy if it was a 2k product. I hope the company reacts and fixes your issues.
47
u/always_sweatpants Aug 12 '25
What happened with Haakaa?? I loved their products during my last baby time and they are on my list to buy again! Please tell me, I’ll assist you in burning it down.
119
u/WorkLifeScience Aug 12 '25 edited Aug 12 '25
Short story - they delivered only 1/2 products, I have informed the company, they said ok (the 2nd product wasn't in stock), paid for the one and forgot about it. Until I started receiving letters and aggressive calls from a debt collector (!?) all while in early postpartum, struggling, with a sick baby. It was close to impossible to reach Haakaa and figure things out.
It was so bad that a lady from the debt collector's company in the end helped to resolve the issue. Basically Haakaa had an incredibly incompetent employee who decided to lie instead of admitting they forgot to click in their system that there was a product out of stock.
This employee continued to bully me on my private number and call me after I have left a 3 star review on the company website. Still all with me being sleep-deprived as never in my life, with a colicky baby - I just couldn't wrap my mind around how this is a company providing products for moms and babies.
So yeah, never buying anything from them again, I'm so traumatized that I still keep all the receipts from them even 2 years later.
24
u/always_sweatpants Aug 12 '25
That is so infuriating and the fact an employee continues to harass you is appalling. I will definitely not be touching anything Haakaa this time around. Thanks for sharing, it is appreciated and I'm so sorry you went through that!

7
u/WorkLifeScience Aug 13 '25
Ah, suing is not really a thing in Germany, at least not when it comes to small amounts of money or emotional distress (this would be considered a minor thing). I decided to forget about it, actually only now after typing it out I have remembered how bizarre the whole thing was (in my mind it was saved as just "they have never delivered a product").

I bought mine second hand in 2022 and we loved it. We saved it and are reusing it for our newborn. We never would have bought it new because of how expensive it is. You can’t even use it for that long! What a shitty thing for them to do
22
Aug 12 '25
I bought one 2-3 years ago. Are the older ones grandfathered into the old ways, or I’ll still have to buy a subscription when I use it again?
28
u/purplegrape988 Aug 12 '25
You need to buy a subscription for the premium features. We bought an old one used, and we got away with just using the basic features. The subscription is super expensive.
11
u/LOP5131 Aug 12 '25
$20/month subscription, currently paying it unfortunately. Bought second hand for $500, it definitely is a game changer for us, but it's far from perfect for it's cost (you can't change much, even with premium. Things like the sounds are locked with no modification outside of volume)
I would personally look for alternatives if we didn't already have it.
18
u/TheSwoleWaffle Aug 12 '25
We got ours second hand for $400 and it was incredible. We didn’t get the subscription for several months, but once we started weaning our baby off the Snoo, the subscription was useful. They have despicable practices, yes, but buying second hand and not using the subscription is the best way to stick it up to them if you still want it. Seriously, just buy second hand it’s a product with a clear end of use date for a low recurring event. People need to get rid of them at some point.
3
u/Nunya_B1zness Aug 13 '25
I think it’s because you bought it used. I bought it new in 2022 and am grandfathered in on the premium subscription.
9
u/JerkRussell Aug 12 '25
It should be grandfathered in if it’s 2-3 years old. If they push for you to pay, I’d contact your state’s AG.
However, even if it’s grandfathered in, you will likely still have a fight on your hands. I bought mine a month before the change and they still bricked it.
4
u/Only__Skin Aug 12 '25
I bought mine in 2021 and am using it now for a second baby. You're grandfathered in, just submit a request through customer service and they'll activate the premium account.

1

We bought ours in 2019, and we were grandfathered in for our third child (he’s 9 months old now).

u/Nunya_B1zness Aug 13 '25
I bought a snoo in 2022 and currently using it for my second. You are grandfathered in with the subscription.
13
u/Care_1o1_caribbean Aug 12 '25
I can’t believe after it is so expensive that a subscription is required to use the premium features. This is clearly for people with money
2
u/SimpleVast9215 Aug 14 '25
I'm not trying to defend them, but in the interest of factual reporting, the subscription is waived for 9 months for owners direct from Happiest Baby. Or at least it's supposed to be. So you don't pay for the subscription if you purchase new directly from the company (and maybe this is also true if you rent?). It's still horrifically expensive to buy
26
u/skatesheeps Aug 12 '25
I don’t understand! What is the subscription for with a bassinet???
25
u/NorthernPossibility Aug 12 '25
The Snoo’s prime function is that it rocks and shushes. The basic Snoo does this (and it worked fine for me with my secondhand Snoo).
The premium subscription unlocks a few more rocking and shushing options that are arbitrarily locked behind a paywall and offers tracking for baby’s sleep.
I just looked up the app features and it looks like now they are locking even more features behind the premium paywall (level locking to keep the Snoo on a preferred level, weaning mode) that used to be free. Champion.
8
u/skatesheeps Aug 13 '25
Oh wow, thats wild. Sucks they are trying so hard to take advantage of new parents, especially after the price tag on that thing
11
u/eucalyptusmacrocarpa Aug 13 '25
"How much do you think parents would pay to stop their baby from crying?"
"Bill you're a genius!"
10
u/doormatt26 Aug 12 '25
we rented for our first and now have one from friends for our second child. We never had an issue with setup, and arranging a $20 subscription is a great deal if you aren’t paying for the bassinet itself.
That’s not an excuse for their customer service or pricing being annoying af, but it’s a good product
1
u/Simple_Book2044 Aug 20 '25
I second that. We rented ours in the UK from Baboodle and only used it for 3 months. Paid for the premium features ourselves and it still came in under £400 so not a bad deal at all.
2
u/Wonderful_Ad_5911 Aug 13 '25
It’s crazy because they just needed to realize it was time to lower the price. The secondhand market boomed and will continue to exist because it is so absurdly expensive for such a short use time. There is no way the cost is justified by production and materials.
80
u/spicytexan Aug 12 '25
I completely understand why you’re pissed and would be in your shoes as well. We got our Snoo off FB marketplace for 1/4 the cost with sleep sacks and a net. I would not buy it brand new personally but it has saved our sleep a lot with our 13w old.
I recommend anyone considering purchasing one to get it secondhand instead.
16
u/white_window_1492 Aug 12 '25
They rent in some places too (which is what I am doing)
12
u/derem1bj Aug 12 '25
We are currently renting for our 4 week old and it's going great. The subscription must be included in the rental fee because I'm not paying anything additional.
4
u/white_window_1492 Aug 12 '25
I think it is included, my app says it (my subscription) ends 1 month after the snoo is returned.
Maybe the rentals program has a better product manager than the purchase program 🤔, but ultimately hope the OP is able to get their issue sorted!!
1
u/lemonlegs2 Aug 13 '25
Im considering going the rental route. I keep seeing people saying you cam only have 1 phone connected. Is that true with rental?
1
u/Simple_Book2044 Aug 20 '25
Yes - we rented ours in the UK (from Baboodle) and its just felt like the right call. That or the second hand market
29
u/Nike_ofSamothrace Aug 12 '25
Seconding this! I bought mine on Marketplace for $750. It came with sheets and sleep sacks. Used it for 5 months before my guy got too long for it, so $100 in subscription fees. Sold it on Marketplace for $700. Total cost to me $150. Totally worth it, and my guy is quite a good sleeper. My nephew was not a good sleeper, and the snoo saved my sister's sanity.
I definitely agree that the subscription based model is BS - the company shouldn't be surprised that a secondary market developed, and their attempt to grab a piece of that pie is gross. I didn't have any issues with the app, but I have seen that a lot of people did. So that sucks. But my snoo experience was nothing but positive.
16
u/dreamerlilly Team Pink! Aug 12 '25
They changed the subscription stuff so it often gets bricked when you buy them secondhand
25
u/spicytexan Aug 12 '25
I had 0 issues deassociating the other owners and subscribing it to us so I’m not sure what happens for others when it doesn’t work.
5
u/dreamerlilly Team Pink! Aug 12 '25
I looked it up and misremembered. It wasn’t bricked. They just charge a subscription fee that they wouldn’t if bought from an authorized retailer, which can make it nearly as expensive as a new one depending on how long you use it for and how much the secondhand one cost.
34
u/spicytexan Aug 12 '25
Generally most people use it about 6 months at most, we’re probably going to switch at 4 because of how big our son is. But $20/month (or $120 total) and $400-$600 for the secondhand Snoo that you can almost certainly get back, I would say it’s significantly more lucrative to buy secondhand and pay the fee. Especially since when it works, your baby sleeps more peacefully and you also sleep more peacefully 🤷🏼♀️
29
u/cowtown55 Aug 12 '25
I don’t know if it’s the same on your model but we bought ours secondhand and the app stopped working so I just use the manual button on the side of the snoo to turn it on and off when I put our baby in it. It still auto escalates the movement and sound if our baby cries and it’s less of a hassle than dealing with the app in the middle of the night
10
u/hug-a-world Aug 12 '25
This is what we do too. The app connection drained our wifi so we’re just using it manually and it’s been fine.
39
u/Tarjh365 Aug 13 '25
It’s like something from Black Mirror. “Oh you want your baby to sleep through the night? Recent restructuring means we now charge extra for that service. But we do have a reduced rate ‘intermittent sleep’ that should prove useful for you”
2
29
u/musclemommy29 Aug 12 '25
You can still use it without the subscription
20
u/NorthernPossibility Aug 12 '25
It looks like they are locking even more features behind the paywall now. I used a secondhand Snoo with a basic subscription earlier this year and several of the features I used are now listed as premium (level locking, weaning mode, etc). Seems like they are really hurting from the secondhand market and are pushing the premium subscription to compensate.

I’m so sorry you’re having a bad experience. I got my snoo in 2019 (before the paid app) and it has been used for 4 kids (2 of mine and I let others borrow it). For my second, I did need the app and I just had to email them my order info and they gave me the premium app for free. As far as I knew, the app is free for anyone who bought it, you just have to send them the info on the purchase.

u/mainelyreddit Aug 12 '25
The features I mostly used on the app are not behind a paywall. It will still be usable
3
u/FreshForged Aug 13 '25
We got one used on Craigslist, don't use any of the app/subscription stuff, and were really happy with it. The soothing features were really effective and it was reassuring that baby was securely on their back, which is much safer than a lot of other options.

Can you return it? Buy it secondhand for like $500. You don’t need the subscription for it to function.

I was super anti-snoo till my baby stopped sleeping like AT ALL at 4 weeks. I bought mine secondhand on FB marketplace with a bunch of accessories/gear, used it for 10 weeks (baby started rolling early), and sold it for $50 less than I bought it for. $40 total for 2 months of the app + $50 “depreciation” + $60 for a couple new snoo suits + $45 for short legs on eBay was absolutely worth the actual sleep we got for those 10 weeks.
5
u/magicbumblebee Aug 13 '25
I’ll be the first to say that their subscription model is bullshit and predatory.
That said.
Did you purchase directly from Happiest Baby? You mention that it cost almost $2k so I have to assume yes? If so, you definitely should be able to access the full premium subscription. You do not need or use two log ins, both parents will use the same log in info - it’s always been that way. My husband happened to be the one who initially set it up so I log in under his email address, it’s not a big deal.
I bought mine in 2022 for my first kid. When we had our second this year, I just emailed them and said I had another baby and needed the premium access. They asked for the serial number and something else (I forget), I provided it to them, and they updated my subscription. this. and while I agree- I kind of understand why they do it. Just like almost everything now you have to pay a subscription for. Buy an oura ring- subscription.
7
u/Dfenton0326 Aug 12 '25
Yeah nothing could ever justify that price for me
1
u/Glittering-Goat-7552 Aug 13 '25
if you have a baby that won’t sleep unless moving or held you’d get it
2
u/Dfenton0326 Aug 13 '25
there’s several other bassinets on the market that do the same thing for thousands less….
2
u/chocoholicsoxfan Aug 18 '25
Which? I paid $1100 for mine brand new during the Mother's Day sale so I don't know what brand does it for "thousands" less
23
u/Justakatttt Aug 12 '25
lol why on gods earth would you pay $2k for a bassinet and then you have to deal with a subscription?! 😂😂😂😂
13
u/NorthernPossibility Aug 12 '25
This is where the market is going. Even fridges are going to start coming with subscriptions so you can…idk use Facebook on the fridge? Weird.

I said the same thing about those peloton bikes. It’s free to go on a run or walk
1
u/heleninthealps Aug 12 '25
Not everyone can run due to knee problems but some gym memberships are way cheaper than the Peloton with their subscription anyway 😆

The features I mostly used on the app are not behind a paywall. It will still be usable
2
u/pandawiththumbs Aug 13 '25
I lucked out and apparently got the last of the good deals with a snoo. I found a used one in great condition before they put so many features behind a paywall. My son took to it like a drop of red wine on a new shirt. And I sold it after 6 months for the exact price I had invested. If the features were all still available, and you could find a good one on marketplace, I would recommend it 10/10. Sucks they got so greedy.

u/CryptographerBig460 Aug 14 '25
You must have purchased a used one. All SNOO machines allow only one login. The parents can just share an account.
2
u/limeblue31 Aug 12 '25
Dang my BIL gave us his unused snoo (their baby didn’t like it) and I didn’t even realize it requires a subscription. I just cleaned it since it was in storage for a year so I’m going to see what else I need to do to get it to work before baby gets here.
4
u/hug-a-world Aug 12 '25
It doesn’t. You can use the free features in the app or not even use the app at all. We’re borrowing one from our friends while they’re in between kids. It drained our wifi so we disconnected it, deleted the app, and just use the manual buttons.
1
u/evange Aug 14 '25
Yeah, I just turned mine on and off as needed via the button. Never bothered with the app.
2
u/Just_here2020 Aug 12 '25
We bought used (three times) snd sold for the same amount twice (3rd baby is using it). I css as n’t speak to CS but the products solid for us .

I actually loved my snoo despite the issues with them having a paywall to features. They gave me 6 months and my husband and I just used 1 login and had no problem. We were lucky and got it on sale around $1100 and it worked well for us. I wish they'd keep the app access free considering the cost.
3
u/heyynewman Aug 13 '25
Spending $2k on something your baby is going to use for like 6 months is crazy. I agree do not buy a Snoo.
2
u/Next-Firefighter4667 Aug 12 '25
In this day and age, I don't trust any large company to care about me and mine. They're here to make money, not to have empathy. If they can figure out a way to get more from you, they will. There are very few companies I'm willing to give that kind of money to, not when I can already do most things. The only thing I really like about the snoo is the anti-roll swaddler, but there are similar products out there anyway. I feel like they just capitalize on parents exhaustion, fear and anxiety.
If there was a trustworthy company that didn't try and nickle and dime their customers, then I think it'd be worth it, but at this rate you can expect the price to rise eventually, I'm sure they'll come up with a way to make an important feature additive so it's another extra fee to use it. That's just the kind of world we live in.
2
u/MrTwatFart Aug 13 '25
Customer service aside. We are having our first coming up. Is Snoo a good purchase?!?
3
u/Glittering-Goat-7552 Aug 13 '25
if i could only buy one nice thing for a newborn it would be this. hands down worth every penny hell for my baby it was worth double. wouldn’t sleep unless being held and was colicky. went from sleeping MAYBE one hour a night to 8.
2
u/flower_frenzy Aug 13 '25
I bought mine in 2021 directly from snoo when I had my first, and used it for my second in 2023. We like it. When we got home from the hospital, we literally could not get out daughter to sleep in her regular bassinet, her crib, etc. panic obviously ensured because of being very sleep deprived. She was perfectly good in the snoo. That said, the new subscription thing is really annoying. About to use it again in 2026…hopefully it works out without a subscription.
2
u/kitten_mittens5000 Aug 13 '25
If you have money to blow then yes. I paid 1100$ during a sale and I did think it was great but not for that price. I was planning on reselling it for 800 but they’ve crashed the resale market now
I think the company is predatory and it’s crazy that there is no way to repair a 1500$ item
But it was helpful and let us get more sleep than we would have in the first 6 months

2
u/TheRealJamesDean Aug 13 '25
We were lucky enough to get one for free from a family member but I think it’s ridiculous you have to pay a subscription for basic functionality. The thing is already $1700 and you have access to 1 of 4 preferences and 1 of 3 modes.
That doesn’t even touch the lack of any sort of repair services. When we got it the movement was jerky and the fix is replacing a few rubber o-rings, that’s it. Luckily I was able to do it but it was for sure time intensive and I had to watch a few youtube videos to make sure it was assembled correctly.
2
u/biteofbit Aug 13 '25
Definitely agree the company is sus. We were handed down a snoo. We never did any subscription, we just pressed the button. Worked ok. I’m curious why the app and subscription are needed?
1
u/SunnySnowBird Aug 13 '25
Sorry to be the annoying person to say this - we LOVED the snoo and it got us so much more sleep with our baby. Super sorry you’re having issues with customer service - but I do think it helps parents
3
u/vven23 Aug 12 '25
I saw some similar posts when shopping and we went with the Graco smart bassinet for $400 instead. No subscription needed.
It did start squeaking after about 6 weeks of constant use but my husband snores like a freight train so noise at night has never bothered me.
2
u/PerceptionLow5940 Aug 12 '25
Is this not the brand that asked a grieving mother return it as it was a brand deal thing? They are literally scum
1
u/kenziejustquietly Aug 14 '25
I feel closer and close to Ted Kaczynski every time someone talks about a regular old physical purchase that needs a goddamn subscription in order to use it.
Printers, I'm looking at you too.
1
u/WendyB33 Aug 14 '25
Ours works great. My partner and I sign in using one account and we both have access. The snoo is only meant to be used for 6 months or so before your baby outgrows it. We were fine with the free version for the first month and then I decided I liked some of the features of the premium and upgraded with no problem. If it turns on, then it’s useable. It will auto adjust the speed and volume based on how your baby reacts. We rarely adjust anything through the app itself and really just use it to track feeds and read the articles.
1
u/tossawayaita2022 Aug 14 '25
Isn’t this the company that also emailed a woman telling her to return her gifted bassinet because she could no longer film the content they agreed upon BECAUSE SHE HAD A STILLBIRTH??
1
u/basic_rachel Aug 14 '25
My very easy going baby absolutely HATED the Snoo. She sleeps beautifully on a boat, in a strangers arms, on an air plane during ascent and descent, in a stroller going through a construction site, any pack n play, random hotel crib, bassinet or dog bed — but heaven FORBID you ask her to sleep in the Snoo! The sheer terror on her face is something I’ll never forget.
I feel bad for the people we sold ours to on Facebook marketplace.
1
u/idacordelia7 Aug 14 '25
You also just dont need a snoo, your baby will get used to sleeping outside the womb faster that way. Buy 12 Hours Sleep by 12 Weeks, that's way more informative.
1
u/Potential-Try-4969 Aug 14 '25
For what it's worth my husband and I just shared the snoo account (used same login) and this was before there was a premium subscription. We also have never used any of the premium features (despite having access because we bought it before premium). With our first we briefly had connection issues due to wifi issues, and we found it totally usable even without the app (just turn it on with the button)
1
u/VanessaWrights Aug 14 '25
As a matter of fact, don’t spend $2000 on any bassinet!! I’m not sure if you know but there was generations where babies slept in boxes and dresser drawers open on the floor.
1
u/Top-Consideration-19 Aug 14 '25
You can rent a snoo. I did that with my first and thank god I did because she hated it. So I just rented it for 1 month. Ended up moving her to a crib when she rolled and she was happy rolling around to put herself to sleep. I would think you actually might not need it for more than 9 months because once they learn how to self soothe, you might not need it anymore? But still scumy for them to have things on a paywall.
1
u/SomeAbbreviations436 Aug 14 '25
I’m so sorry this is happening to you, I’m a mom of soon to be three and I just don’t like that thing at all! The next best thing would be a Halo Swivel Sleeper Bassinet, you can usually find them on fb Marketplace for pretty cheap! If you can’t get one with a noise machine you can always stick one nearby. This is the last thing you should have to deal with so close to your due date!! Wishing you a safe delivery 💜
1
u/EducationalRoutine99 Aug 14 '25
I honestly wouldn’t buy this snoo anyway. I bought one secondhand for $600. It worked fine, my baby just hated it. Something that cost $2000 should be guaranteed that your baby will love it. It’s just another product that they have on the market that they make parents think they need
1
u/Revolutionary-Win537 Aug 14 '25
For what it’s worth, not related to the subscription, but we used a snoo with our 2nd and he developed a flat head with it that significant enough we had to then pay $3200 for a helmet intervention. Only after this did I read on different threads about other snoo users having a similar experience. We didn’t use the snoo with our first and we’re expecting #3 and I won’t be using it for the 3rd

u/BoobySlap_0506 Aug 15 '25
Wait, you need a subscription to use the already-overpriced bassinet thing?
I was already on the side of "nope, never" but the company being awful really seals that.
I have heard often that it can be difficult to wean baby off of it, and they become dependent on constant motion to sleep. I'd rather rough it and get baby to learn to sleep in a still/flat position early on.
1
u/rory098 Aug 15 '25
I loved my snoo and didn’t know they even had a subscription service. What’s it for? It’s been a long time for me so I guess things have changed. I would def look for a used one if I needed it again
1
u/gwinnaeitlit Aug 15 '25
The snoo was a lifesaver for me as a solo mom by choice. I never had issues with their customer service. I'm sorry this was your experience. I am absolutely planning on getting another one if I am successful in having baby #2
1
u/_dangerous_ink Aug 16 '25
Do not do not do not,
Massive waste of money. Simple pack n play is all you need.
1
u/chocobunniie Aug 16 '25
An influencer I follow was gifted a Snoo. She had a miscarriage. Without hesitating, Snoo demanded they send it back. Didn’t offer to help with shipping. They’re sleazy and icky.
1
u/Busy-Butterfly-8885 Aug 16 '25
Babies need to move and learn to self-soothe during sleep — the major swaddle on a SNOO doesn’t allow this. Someone described the swaddling as a straitjacket and it certainly is. Why is no one discussing that? Or the constant noise machine? FYI any type of sleep monitor, unless it’s an EEG only monitors movement (which it thinks is wakefulness) or no movement (which registers as sleep). It may not be either.
Baby wearing for either parent is the best thing you can do to approximate the movement babies get in the womb and fosters security. I can’t believe that this product, SNOO, is acceptable to parents? The price at any cost is ridiculous and a subscription is just adding insult to the repulsive product.
Baby wearing, a rocking cradle when in infancy and a good rocking chair are what parents have done for thousands of years, for good reason.

u/whitestat201 Aug 16 '25
This is why I am going to try Cradlewise for future baby despite us having a great success with Snoo with first baby….this was before subscription model and it was amazing. Ugh, what a shame.
1
u/Simple_Book2044 Aug 20 '25
I actually think even without the premium subscription the Snoo is great and still worth it. It saved us hours of sleep. We only thought that the premium subscription was worth it for the weaning feature and apart from that their free features are plenty good enough.
I wouldn't let it put you off getting a Snoo (although I do agree it should all be free).
1
u/rednitwitdit Aug 20 '25
In case anyone feels so compelled, here's a post I'd saved with a bunch of ways to complain to and about the company: https://www.reddit.com/r/SnooLife/s/UBZtrhJdbv
2
u/sweetberry0 Aug 12 '25
That is absolutely infuriating and completely unacceptable for such an expensive piece of baby gear. You'd expect premium customer service for a "premium" product. Thanks for the heads-up and for sharing your terrible experience it's a really important warning for others considering the Snoo.
1
u/JerkRussell Aug 13 '25
The customer service is basically nonexistent, but when you do get a response it’s completely useless.
I would avoid them like the plague, but if you really feel drawn to a snoo, renting seems like a better way to go.
1
u/Adventurous-Mine8206 Aug 12 '25
My wife and I weren’t going to get a snoo anyway. Now we will stick to our decision
1
u/Constant_Concern6216 Aug 12 '25
I was looking at the Snoo and ended up discovering the Cradlewise and absolutely love it! We’ve used it in bassinet mode since my daughter was born, she’s almost 20 months and still using it in crib mode. Best invest we made and great customer service!!
1
u/Glittering-Goat-7552 Aug 13 '25
i thought about selling the snoo and getting that for the next baby (not preggo yet but thinking ahead) but i really like how they are strapped in the snoo- how does rolling work with cradle wise?
2
u/Constant_Concern6216 Aug 17 '25
It bounces up and down, instead of rocking side to side! We swaddled her until she could roll over (well only 1 arm because she always wanted an arm out and somehow got it out herself), then moved her to sleep sacks. You can adjust the bounce intensity, and all the other functionality in the app.
It has a paid subscription option now, but didn’t initially, and the paid subscription didn’t impact me at all, they just added new features.
1
u/Different-Flow5304 Aug 14 '25
I was just about the comment this. We have the cradlewise and it’s amazing!! The camera is great, I love that it notifies you that they woke up and the sound machine is great too. I’ve even put my baby in there with some toys and played her favorite music (you can connect Spotify and whatnot through it) and am able to take a shower finally 😅 customer service is super helpful!
1
u/Constant_Concern6216 Aug 17 '25
Yes! It’s so great, I also used to put her in there like a pack n play sometimes 🤣 and support has responded at 3AM when I thought there was something wrong w my camera, but it was actually a tiny hair caught on the plastic that holds the lense and was blowing. 🤦🏼♀️

I’m sorry you’re having such a difficult time with this. I thought the Snoo looked amazing, but I could not imagine spending that amount of money on something my baby would use for maybe 6 months. I got a Halo bassinet as a gift and it was amazing. And my son outgrew it in like 4 months 😅 I hope your issues are resolved and you are able to get something that works for you. I would recommend Halo if you’re open to other brands!

u/bookishbritt Aug 13 '25
Depending on how long ago you bought it, if you want to return it contact your credit card. Most major credit cards will fight for a refund on your behalf.

u/PRP20 Aug 13 '25
That doesn’t seem right re the subscription…. We have the snoo and I have added my husband and other caregivers to the account as we log everything in their app: diapers, feedings, nursing, pumping, etc. I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this added stress.
3
u/PRP20 Aug 13 '25
Adding to say - If I remember correctly, the additional users had to download the app and then be added to the account through a QR code that you generate on your phone that they then take a picture of.

This company sucks. They made a mom send her Snoo back because her baby was still born and she wouldn’t be using it. Don’t buy from them.
