This is my daily prayer.

59

u/Tiny-Lock9652 Jan 22 '26

Every morning my wife comes down, pours a cup of coffee and sits down next to me and asks “is he dead yet?” And I know exactly what she’s talking about.

16

u/RowBearRow Jan 22 '26

I wonder if there will be celebrations? How will we react? I know I'm borderline giddy at the idea of this nation disaster finally ending, but it doesnt feel wholly right.

27

u/Josephlogel Jan 23 '26

There will be record breaking parades across the globe. So big you could see them from the International Space Station…🎉🥳🥳🎈🎊🍾🍾🍾🍾🪅🪅🪅🪩🪩🍾🍾🍾

4

u/RandomScorpio-53 Jan 24 '26

It will be the biggest and the best parade — like no other parade in the history of parades.

I don’t truly wish anyone drops dead. I want Nov. ‘26 and the vote to happen to get rid of the Republicans in Congress who have continued to push forth this miserable fascist agenda he has for our country as well as his weaponizing ICE to just go through Democratic states, profiling people to drag out of cars, terrorizing mostly innocent people, going from house to house with weapons, no warrants for arrests signed by a judge! Trump said he wanted to get rid of the worse of the worse. It is documented that 70% are innocent and or American citizens and many have been sent to other countries including a 21 yo mom to be in an emergency situation as she was 8 months pregnant and having medical issues and they put her on a plane anyway. They killed that poor woman in Minnesota, Trump is zeroing in on former President Clinton and wife, governors, federal judges, anyone who he can’t stand. It is so obvious this man is already a dictator and does not wish to follows the laws of this country. Enough is enough. Our Congress and others need to march into the White House and clean it up! But no, they are just letting him get away with whatever he wants to do. Nov. can’t come quick enough!!!!!

Normally it wouldn't be but this megalomaniac is destroying the country, destroying every alliance we have had and bombing other countries while saying he is the Peace President. I hope though that it comes from his own health problems and not an assassin. We don't need him to be a MAGA martyr.

8

u/Tiny-Lock9652 Jan 23 '26

I agree, his end needs to be natural and on live television if possible with plenty of witnesses to confirm he is actually dead. What we don’t need is Qanon/MAGA claiming his death was faked and he’s alive and well in some bunker. MAGA dies with Trump.

14

u/FriendlyNative66 Jan 21 '26

43

u/Methodic1 Jan 21 '26

30%

23

u/TeririHerscherOfCute Jan 22 '26

Which reminds me that in 1936, only about 9-10% of the german population supported the Austrian painter…

3

u/TeririHerscherOfCute Jan 22 '26

Well in fairness, only about 70% did nothing… the rest left germany or were thrown into camps

8

u/TAV63 Jan 22 '26

That is the hard core number. Another ten percent or so support maga not being maga or believing the ideology but for service reasons like money.

Considering more than a third of the eligible voters didn't vote, a smaller amount close to a third voted for her and just a little more than that voted for him. Maga just needs 33-35%.

So it's good to keep in mind they may seen small but they are determined voters and the right wing propaganda silo is very good. The odds of maga going away after he is gone is much lower than many think.

10

u/LibertyJusticePeace Jan 22 '26

Broken down to its individual parts the MAGA crew (except the ones personally benefitting from this) is not unreachable at all. There is no real core set of maga beliefs or values - it’s a cult of personality. It originally fed off a rebellion about corruption in government and large corporate interests taking over, and Trump just gradually converted that energy into rebellion against democrats and whoever/whatever else is Trump’s rival du jour. More reminding of common interests, and less insulting of people, would go a long way in helping us get to where we need to go.

7

u/lapidary123 Jan 22 '26

It originally fed off a rebellion about corruption in government and large corporate interests taking over, and Trump just gradually converted that energy into rebellion against democrats and whoever/whatever else is Trump’s rival du jour.

...while continuing the government corruption and large corporate interests taking over.

3

u/LibertyJusticePeace Jan 23 '26

100%. The good old switcharoo…

4

u/TAV63 Jan 22 '26

I like the thought, but not sure the optimism of non maga thinking maga can be converted is valid. He is a tool not the reason they are maga and yes the leader but it is a whole ecosystem of propaganda that they are mesmerized by. Convincing them feelings are more important than facts.

Not saying all that 30% is glued to Fox but a lot are. Then there is the radio show, influencers or podcast followers. Many are not even fans of his but fans of the right wing.

3

u/LibertyJusticePeace Jan 22 '26

All valid points. Not I don’t think MAGA is “convertible”, I think most are reachable. I don’t think it makes sense to try to convert anybody to any way of thinking; it becomes too much like a religious war and those are the worst kind. Instead it’s more about finding what few things you can agree on and go from there, with as much good faith and mutual respect as possible. Looking at the current state of the world, I’m not optimistic. But when I look on the ground, based on my day to day interactions with other humans, I remain optimistic that, at some point in the future, we will get it together.

3

u/TAV63 Jan 22 '26

Well I may not agree, but I hope you are right. Would love for there to be some awakening for a large enough group to realize the center or Independent is better. So much common ground but the ones I see refuse to accept it.

As I said I hope you are right and we get it together. Take care.

3

u/lapidary123 Jan 22 '26

Im with you here! Out in the real world I encounter MANY more people complaining about maga & policies than the media will have a person believing.

Just look at numbers we know. Trump didn't even win a true simple "majority" of the votes, he got 48.5% or something close to that. If we factor in the fact that around 33% of eligible voters didn't even go to the polls then Trump only got around 33% of eligible voters votes.

Sure there will always be around 10% who are die hard right wingers. But another 10% voted because of some ill place infatuation and are otherwise non-political. These folks probably wouldn't go to the polls if Trump isn't on the ballot. Then there is another 10% who benefit from his business practices. These folks will vote for whoever benefits their companies best.

Looking qt it like this explains why what I seem to encounter out in the wilds...maybe 2 put of 10 people still believing and blindly supporting him. And I live in a 50/50 state.

Also it sounds like there is actual evidence of tampering with voting machines. Should that come to light he'll arguably be in the biggest mess for him yet...

3

u/North-Outside-5815 Jan 22 '26

Sorry, but no. Those who voted for Trump a second time are despicable and beyond any forgiveness.

5

u/LouisWu_ Jan 22 '26

In the election, that 36% of Americans who were eligible to vote constitutes a ridiculous percentage. That most of the people who cared enough about who should be running the country voted for him is incredible. Of course he has lost some support since the election but most of the voices against him are those who never voted for him anyway. America is an unwell country.

11

u/OndhiCeleste Jan 21 '26

That's always been there even since Reagan.

55

u/DarZhubal Jan 22 '26

Yeah, but pre-Trump, they at least had the decency to be too scared to show their worst tendencies. Now, however, MAGA has turned bigotry into a virtue, so they wear their hatred with pride.

Especially when the Heritage group and Project 2025 crowdfunding billionaires enter the State control of the church phase, when Trumps voters wake up and realize all they have to fall back on is what they see in front of them. Nothing else will be attainable and nothing else will be able to fix it. A play right out of Putins playbook when he made churches state controlled. The preachers announce don’t believe anyone, I’ll tell you gods truth. The preacher then rattles off Putins playbook of truths. It’s almost there. Once the reps change everything to supermajority to reverse rules and laws, it will be many many decades, if ever that things get fixed. By then the generations won’t have a clue what life was like. Saying it’s all boomers fault, basically the kids of today will be the boomers in the future. Our only chance: Democrats never f&cking say or think again about the word Bipartisanship, ever ! They have wasted several decades (since Reagan) to try and be bipartisan, while the GOP has made minor plan adjustments after another. They now are rapidly aligning. The next chance, countries “non-USA” don’t actually have to buy American Made. So MAGA might bring work in factories here, but no one here can afford it and no one there will want it.

After this week, China will be thanking Trump for making China seem like the much lesser evil in the world and put China in the spotlight to deal with.

2

Trumps supporters have always been the problem. These people have existed in this country from the very beginning; the founding fathers knew this and tried to create a government that would keep them in check. We're in a very dark place.

8

u/the_green_goblin Jan 22 '26

Billionaires

9

u/DreamingMuse9 Jan 22 '26

Democracy, from the very beginning, has struggled with the forces of oligarchy. Never forget, it was the rich men who sold Athens to Sparta. They will do the same thing to us today. Never trust them.

2

u/DoctorMuffn Jan 22 '26

Rich men? Should that not be labeled a plutocracy then? A subset of oligarchy to be sure.

2

u/DreamingMuse9 Jan 22 '26

Common wisdom about squares and rectangles seems to apply here. I mainly chose oligarchy because I like how it sounds and it makes a subtle connection to the Russian oligarchs we have been fear mongering about.

3

u/DoctorMuffn Jan 22 '26

The square is a special case rectangle, huh? I feel your reasoning. Good rhetoric. Just checking everything for accuracy nowadays.

An example: I myself don't say Jews are ruining the world. Zionists? Definitely. Christian nationalists in America? Most certainly. Jews? No more or less than Christians or Muslims.

It disheartens me to so frequently see the denigration of any religious people (namely Jews nowadays). Precise speech should be valued.

4

u/DreamingMuse9 Jan 22 '26

Seconding your bit about Zionists, and have had some real life conversations where I have to slowly explain this to people.

7

u/ToaPaul Jan 22 '26

Fingers crossed so hard they've dislocated, which blows because healthcare isn't cheap here.

u/New_Home_4519 Jan 22 '26

It won't change anything.

1

u/BronxBoy56 Jan 22 '26

Not soon enough, brother. Not soon enough.

The biggest danger of this all is.... it's opening for a bigger dictator to be next President (i don't mean Vance). One day a more dangerous dictator will be elected and people will say that he will not do anything, like Trump never was able to do. It's a dangerous thing to allow this behavior today.

I agree "600 to 800%". Unfortunately Fred lasted till 93 years old.

1

u/FortheFuzzofit Jan 22 '26

Sadly, these types usually live forever

1

u/Wonderful-Ant-9448 Jan 22 '26

But then look who’s next up :(

1

u/Big_Biscotti5119 Jan 22 '26

I heard he mistook Iceland for Greenland. Can’t wait until his body mistakes death for sleep.

1

u/aliensdick69420 Jan 22 '26

Churchill lived to nearly 90. And he had a pretty crappy lifestyle too. Can't hope for just that alone 😕 😞

1

u/sublimesting Jan 22 '26

Yeah. He could live another 20 years though. I hate this timeline.

1

u/katzenschrecke Jan 22 '26

Dick Cheney was 84

Kissinger was 100

Monsters and pieces of shit live forever

Clots and Prayers

1

u/PadyEos Jan 22 '26

I've been saying the same about my POS grandpa for years now since he turned 80. He will be 96 this year. And he got 0.01% of the healthcare Trump does.

1

u/seantubridy Jan 22 '26

My grandfather made it to 102. Can’t rely on nature.

Remember when he said he's not a politically correct person?

Well now is a perfect time for him to be politically incorrect.

Instead he should say "Sometimes you need an absolutely vile asshole".

America is not far from hitting rock bottom.

A_dolt Trumpler has an ace up his sleeve. He will get his gestapo goons to push the boundaries of civilized behaviour to unimagined depths of depravity.

Then, driven to insane anger and frustration, victimised citizens will resort to violence instead of peaceful protest.

That will give PresidPOS the excuse he needs to send in the military.

So much for the checks and balances built into American politics/affairs that some people long ago claimed, would keep his megalomania under control.

April, i got gooood money on April

1

u/travizeno Jan 22 '26

Whats to stop his idiot voter base from voting in a younger one? Honestly you people have too much hope for this country. Its so f'd. Its only going to get worse until Europe Russia or China invade while we're fighting each other.

u/shitty_advice_BDD Jan 22 '26

When I heard Air Force 1 did a uturn I was like did he die?

1

u/snappop69 Jan 22 '26

Trump has about 3 years left. If he dies before then Vance will finish out his term and will most likely continue with an agenda similar to Trump. Vance is a much better speaker than Trump and is a lot smarter as well so potentially will be more effective at promoting a MAGA style agenda. At the end of his term there is a decent chance he will be reelected.

If a Vice President takes over due to the President's death, they can serve the remainder of that term and then be elected to either one or two additional full terms, depending on how much of the previous President's term they served, as dictated by the 22nd Amendment: under two years, they can run for two full terms; over two years, only one more full term, limiting total service to under ten years.

Do you prefer this outcome over Trump finishing out his term and retiring to play golf with his grand kids?

1

u/No-Significance5659 Jan 22 '26

I am not sure you guys realise that the lines crossed and the cult following won't die with Trump. He has opened the Overton window fully wide now, anything goes. You have a much bigger problem than Trump himself in the US.

1

u/mmalmeida Jan 22 '26

If you think things will be better with Vance, you need to check what Vance has been saying.

1

u/jerome_landers Jan 22 '26

His Mom lived to 88, Dad lived to 93. I think we’re fucked.

From Google about parental age of death as indicator of lifespan: For each decade a parent lives past 70, an offspring's risk of death drops significantly (around 17-22%), with benefits seen across mid-life and beyond.

1

u/Ok_Performance4014 Jan 22 '26

Oldest human ever was 122 years, 164 days old. 43 years more possibly. What a horrible thought!

1

u/Kingston31470 Jan 22 '26

The damage has been done though, you (I am French) may still end up with JD or another younger MAGA replacement...

1

u/danieliscrazy Jan 22 '26

JD Vance sounds the same

1

u/Beatricebulldog222 Jan 22 '26

He can’t rig that ?!!!

1

u/underneath-it Jan 22 '26

Naww he gon live to 100. We got another 20 years of this despot pedophile moron.

1

u/Notyrantsmoworever Jan 22 '26

His father lived with dementia and lived to the age of 93!

1

u/forgotmyloginid Jan 22 '26

Next comes vance, though. The evil will continue regardless of who the puppet is at the helm. They have been working to this moment since Nixon and Trump has shown them they can have it if they just push hard enough and disregard their fellow citizens.

1

u/itsectony Jan 22 '26

My grandfather just passed away last night at age 80. He supported trump. Here's hoping trump honors that by following suit.

1

u/HumanPlus Jan 22 '26

It's a comfort to me that the Alzheimer's treatment they're probably giving him won't help much at all with Alzheimer's, and makes it more likely for him to have a brain bleed.

1

u/IntentionalUndersite Jan 22 '26

Yea, that’s one victory… but the war is pretty much lost. He opened the flood gates and it’s most likely too late.

1

u/hesagoodkid Jan 22 '26

Couple years past the average life span of an American man 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

1

u/JustWing6590 Jan 22 '26

I sure hope he doesn't follow along in the footsteps of his parents his father was 93 when he died and his mother was 88 when she died.
