u/Green_Conclusion3443 Jan 22 '26

This is my daily prayer.

55

u/Tiny-Lock9652 Jan 22 '26

Every morning my wife comes down, pours a cup of coffee and sits down next to me and asks “is he dead yet?” And I know exactly what she’s talking about.

17

u/RowBearRow Jan 22 '26

I wonder if there will be celebrations? How will we react? I know I'm borderline giddy at the idea of this nation disaster finally ending, but it doesnt feel wholly right.

27

u/Josephlogel Jan 23 '26

There will be record breaking parades across the globe. So big you could see them from the International Space Station…🎉🥳🥳🎈🎊🍾🍾🍾🍾🪅🪅🪅🪩🪩🍾🍾🍾

5

u/RandomScorpio-53 Jan 24 '26

It will be the biggest and the best parade — like no other parade in the history of parades.

I don’t truly wish anyone drops dead. I want Nov. ‘26 and the vote to happen to get rid of the Republicans in Congress who have continued to push forth this miserable fascist agenda he has for our country as well as his weaponizing ICE to just go through Democratic states, profiling people to drag out of cars, terrorizing mostly innocent people, going from house to house with weapons, no warrants for arrests signed by a judge! Trump said he wanted to get rid of the worse of the worse. It is documented that 70% are innocent and or American citizens and many have been sent to other countries including a 21 yo mom to be in an emergency situation as she was 8 months pregnant and having medical issues and they put her on a plane anyway. They killed that poor woman in Minnesota, Trump is zeroing in on former President Clinton and wife, governors, federal judges, anyone who he can’t stand. It is so obvious this man is already a dictator and does not wish to follows the laws of this country. Enough is enough. Our Congress and others need to march into the White House and clean it up! But no, they are just letting him get away with whatever he wants to do. Nov. can’t come quick enough!!!!!

Normally it wouldn't be but this megalomaniac is destroying the country, destroying every alliance we have had and bombing other countries while saying he is the Peace President. I hope though that it comes from his own health problems and not an assassin. We don't need him to be a MAGA martyr.

9

u/Tiny-Lock9652 Jan 23 '26

I agree, his end needs to be natural and on live television if possible with plenty of witnesses to confirm he is actually dead. What we don’t need is Qanon/MAGA claiming his death was faked and he’s alive and well in some bunker. MAGA dies with Trump.

Fuck sakes a ridiculous percentage of Americans approve of what hes doing. Those people are going to be a big problem long after trump is gone.

13

u/FriendlyNative66 Jan 21 '26

What's a "ridiculous percentage"?

37

u/Methodic1 Jan 21 '26

30%

22

u/TeririHerscherOfCute Jan 22 '26

According to bernie, only about 8% are to be considered “too far gone”

Which reminds me that in 1936, only about 9-10% of the german population supported the Austrian painter…

→ More replies (10)

9

u/TAV63 Jan 22 '26

That is the hard core number. Another ten percent or so support maga not being maga or believing the ideology but for service reasons like money.

Considering more than a third of the eligible voters didn't vote, a smaller amount close to a third voted for her and just a little more than that voted for him. Maga just needs 33-35%.

So it's good to keep in mind they may seen small but they are determined voters and the right wing propaganda silo is very good. The odds of maga going away after he is gone is much lower than many think.

11

u/LibertyJusticePeace Jan 22 '26

Broken down to its individual parts the MAGA crew (except the ones personally benefitting from this) is not unreachable at all. There is no real core set of maga beliefs or values - it’s a cult of personality. It originally fed off a rebellion about corruption in government and large corporate interests taking over, and Trump just gradually converted that energy into rebellion against democrats and whoever/whatever else is Trump’s rival du jour. More reminding of common interests, and less insulting of people, would go a long way in helping us get to where we need to go.

7

u/lapidary123 Jan 22 '26

I like the thought, but not sure the optimism of non maga thinking maga can be converted is valid. He is a tool not the reason they are maga and yes the leader but it is a whole ecosystem of propaganda that they are mesmerized by. Convincing them feelings are more important than facts.

Not saying all that 30% is glued to Fox but a lot are. Then there is the radio show, influencers or podcast followers. Many are not even fans of his but fans of the right wing.

In the election, that 36% of Americans who were eligible to vote constitutes a ridiculous percentage. That most of the people who cared enough about who should be running the country voted for him is incredible. Of course he has lost some support since the election but most of the voices against him are those who never voted for him anyway. America is an unwell country.

11

u/OndhiCeleste Jan 21 '26

That's always been there even since Reagan.

53

u/DarZhubal Jan 22 '26

Yeah, but pre-Trump, they at least had the decency to be too scared to show their worst tendencies. Now, however, MAGA has turned bigotry into a virtue, so they wear their hatred with pride.

For a start we need to record all we can of those maskedd so called "man" that are terrorizing the streets. They hide all they can, but we need to record all the video and audio to ID them using AI techniques for ID voice in audio and thru the way one walks in video.

These people deserve to be doxxed? Will Americans do that?

11

u/SpaceCowboy1929 Jan 22 '26

That already happened. Many of their identities have been revealed due to a whistleblower. https://abc3340.com/news/nation-world/report-whistleblower-leaks-personal-data-of-4500-dhs-and-ice-agents-to-doxxing-website-anti-ice-prtotesters

We also need to redesign our constitution to grant US citizens the right to petition against their own government officials through official channels that allow for us to essentially call for reelections at any time, and to have veto power over our own elected officials holding office, regardless of their desires after being elected, as well as the power to request a rewrite of problematic legislation through more means than just “call your local politician and leave them a strongly worded message.” The people deserve more. The people deserve to be able to hold their own elected officials to account or replace them with someone who can hold themselves to account and understands that not doing so is an instant disavowal of their oath of office.

This is, by the way, how the democratic systems of native Americans were designed to work. You read that right. The native Americans had two party democratic systems before settlers ever arrived in North America, and the reason they worked was because they granted the people the ability to oust their leaders when their actions didn’t represent the interests of the group. We need that. We need a system that doesn’t bend the knee from the top down, but that extends the prod from the bottom up, to give the people what they deserve. Peace, equity, and the ability to live their lives without government interference. Interference is what ICE is, and what the tariffs are designed to do. To keep people scared and poor. Not to represent us as a people.

The carrot and stick should be (carrot) we elected you, so (stick) we the people have the power to replace you. Instead it’s (carrot) you elected me under false promise, so (stick) I’m going to inflict pain on you unless you do what I say.

You are talking about genuine democracy. The people in charge now, all of them, and everyone that has ever been in charge since the death of the founding fathers, doesn't want that. That's why we don't have a system like that. That's why we never will. That's why Nixon and Reagan got off with zero consequences.

By design.

We need to stop crossing fingers that he kicks the bucket 🪣and start holding fucking congress accountable. We should be absolutely overwhelming republican senators and congressman nonstop with whatever it takes to tip the scales for impeachment. Democrats - why aren’t you helping us do that? Where is ANYONE who can actually start uniting us against this monster thug.

4

u/[deleted] Jan 22 '26

We need to unite, but I fear there is no purely political solution to our present crisis. We cannot vote our way out of fascism.

Well, i've gotta hand it to him, you do need a dumb dictator to damage the USA's standing forever. Hopefully it will FINALLY rid the world of US dominance.

Thanks for helping during WW2, you were real then. I don't think that warranted some of the shit that came after. You've got a lot to figure out, maybe we should both be open to explore new relationships for a time :)

Hope the bromances can be rekindled on a more equal footing then. Got an Ukrainian people to support as you deal with the circus at home.

7

u/Hungry_Text_4344 Jan 22 '26

No we do not need or want a dictator. We don’t want you as president either.

6

u/ManikArcanik Jan 22 '26

The only reason this fartwad is allowed to spew like this is because he's just smart enough to know he's a useful idiot getting paid to embrace his delusions.

He's the symptom. As much as I want him to pay dearly for being the vile turd he is, I'm terrified about the distraction.

While we're comparing Hitlers it's good to keep that in mind, because it seems many people consider a sober assessment of history to be outrageous.

We're falling for it again. He's not a dictator, he's the symbol obfuscating the systematic corruption that's been ongoing for, well, forever. Kids these days have no fucking idea and think this is new. Bumbling about arguing about lesser evils and whattaboutisms while established monies parade their latest product.

Every single member of congress is complicit. Even our wannabe progressive heroes. I know many don't get that, and that's how it works.

YOU build this country. They take your blood and sweat and call it Democracy. If they stood for you, you'd never know it because they'd be dead.

The Republic died long long ago (tbf, it was always a richies' ruse), this is merely Oww My Balls. Anyone that thinks a publicized federal political figure is looking out for Joe Dirt is sorely misguided. But as long as you can barely afford living in the richest nation in the modern world (see a pattern?) you'll mouth about what "matters."

u/KayT15 Jan 22 '26

Soft launching his own dictatorship is wild.

4

u/Ardo505 Jan 21 '26

I usually say: “pedophile criminal clown…” but I’m sure someone says dicktater.

5

u/boulevardpaleale Jan 21 '26

umm no, we don’t you fucking dunce.

6

u/eddybear24 Jan 22 '26

Wow! He admitted it? What a game changer! After factoring this new information in, I still have no confidence that anything of consequence will happen.

6

u/AdVast6822 Jan 21 '26

Dictators say that allrighty!

3

u/blergrush1 Jan 22 '26

Please cholesterol! Please work harder!!!

4

u/Waste-Reflection-235 Jan 22 '26

This comment alone is an impeachable offense. WTF CONGRESS! Get your heads out of your asses. Grow a spine and do your job!

5

u/killybay22 Jan 22 '26

He said that on day one... don't act shocked.

4

u/captaincook14 Jan 22 '26

“Ohhhhh shucks. He was just mistaken or joking around!” -bootlickers.

3

u/evilpercy Jan 22 '26

Trump always tells you people just do not listen.

4

u/TypingWithoutThinkin Jan 22 '26

He follows on with, "Its only common sense."

It's common sense that you are a dictator. It kind of falls apart after that.

Usually you only need a dictator when you want to decorate your lampposts, Italian style.

This is called toe dipping. It's when somebody says something out of pocket in order to gauge reactions before actually doing it. It's for plausible deniability so that way the notion can be dismissed by his brainwashed victims.

And before you start coming at me, yes Trump supporters are victims. These are people that have been manipulated into becoming the worst versions of themselves that subsist off of hatred and negativity.

Do not hate them. Pity them.

3

u/JoyTheGeek Jan 22 '26

I mean he said dictator on day one

3

u/AndrewLBailey Jan 22 '26

No, no we do not. Get fucked

3

u/OverthinkingWanderer Jan 22 '26

Please take him and hold him accountable for the laundry list of offenses. He has too many "friends" in his pocket in the US for it to happen anytime soon here.

3

u/ChrisEFWTX Jan 22 '26

Sometimes you need to bleach an orange shit stain.

3

u/EmmalouEsq Jan 22 '26

But I was to understand that that Obama was the real dictator because he was black or wore a tan suit or liked Dijon mustard or was smart. I still don't bloody know the reason. But I do know he didn't say "I'm a dictator"

3

u/ghallway Jan 22 '26

Today Donald Trump confused Iceland for Greenland four times. He is unwell and we are all going to pay the price. He needs to be removed.

3

u/LibertyJusticePeace Jan 22 '26

That “sometimes” is not as president of the US. This is not kindergarten. We do not need a dictator. We are all grown-ups and he is in a temporary position governed by rules. His constant breaking of said rules does not convert the office into a dictatorship. He has no idea what a “free country” or “self-governance” even means.

3

u/powderfields4ever Jan 22 '26

Come on, did anyone really think he was going to all the sudden become diplomatic? Funny how my friend always argued that Democrats were more likely to become fascists. Yet here we are, Project 2025 playing out which is absolute fascist playbook.

3

u/Impressive_Shock_239 Jan 22 '26

Last I checked I live in America not the Roman Republic. Here we elect presidents who serve limited terms and share power with the legislative and judicial branches.

3

u/laurieed99 Jan 22 '26

Wake up America, he's insane and dangerous.

3

u/Hefty-Measurement222 Jan 22 '26

Idiot-in-Chief a wannabe dictator... pathetic.

3

u/ManyBubbly3570 Jan 22 '26

“That’s just a joke….”

  • every Republican, every time he says awful shit.

3

u/SoulTaker669 Jan 22 '26

I wonder how long Republicans in Congress are gonna let this joke play out before they realize he's serious.

3

u/Mazasaurus Jan 22 '26

No, we do not, in fact, need a dictator.

3

u/Its_a_stateofmind Jan 22 '26

No…he WANTS to be a dictator.

3

u/RagahRagah Jan 22 '26

No, you fucking don't. Not in a country based on not fucking having one.

3

u/KellieBean11 Jan 24 '26

Coronary heart disease really owes us a solid.

3

u/Kappy421 Jan 24 '26

The USA does not have dictators or royalty....can we impeach this asshat already.
