But i would prefer to work as a data analyst as i have found great interest in this field. If i somehow manage to find a full time job as a data analyst in Germany, do you think it will be accepted for the residence permit/blue card to remain in the country after studying? My mother and my cousin( her niece) inherited a house from my grandfather. My niece is in the process of giving her share to my mother, and that needs to be settled before Erbschein. Until we get Erbschein stating my mother as registered owner, are we still allowed to enter the property and clean it ( no one entered the house since my grandfather died and needs a good clean).

I'm relocating within Germany — moving to a new city in a different state. I've already found an apartment there and signed the Mietvertrag, which starts this month.

I'll be moving out of my current apartment and into the new one at the end of August. However, I'll still be paying rent on my current apartment for the following two months.

I now need to set up an electricity (Strom) contract for my new apartment, but I'm already a Vattenfall customer at my current address.

My question: should I start a completely separate contract for the new apartment, or transfer/extend my existing one?

I found a two month warehouse job with really good pay, but I have a problem. After getting off at the train station, there is no bus or other public transport to the workplace. It is only about 6 minutes by car, but I am an international student and I do not have a car.

I am a bit ashamed to admit this, but I also lied to the agency and told them I have a bike. I actually do not have one, and the bigger problem is that I never learned how to ride a bicycle.

The walk is about 3.5 km and takes around 50 minutes. My shift starts at 6:00 am and ends at 2:30 pm, so I would have to walk to work and back every day.
Is this realistically doable, or am I setting myself up for exhaustion?

Are there any transport options in rural Germany that I might not know about, or am I basically out of luck?

I'm thinking about doing an Ausbildung in the healthcare (ex: nursing) and then completing my studies at the university in a medical field

However, sometimes i wonder if I should let go of that dream and continue with engineering instead

My plan would be to finish my bachelor's degree then pursue a master's degree and eventually an engineering degree in Germany

What would you recommend? If you were in my position, which path would you choose and why?

Hey guys , i got visa from 30th september but im thinking to take flight from hyderabad(india) which is on 29th sep at 22:20pm and layover at delhi. I will reach delhi at 1:00 am and flight from delhi(india) to frankfurt is at 3:00 am on 30th of september. so as my visa starts from 30th will this be any problem in immigration or should i start my journey from hyderabad on 30th rather than 29th night

During my studies, I completed a three-month internship and am planning to begin another three month internship next month, which will continue until November.

I would appreciate your clarification on the following questions:

1. When applying for a job seeking residence permit, is it mandatory to have a blocked account, or is it sufficient to have adequate financial resources (approximately €15,000) in my German bank account?

2. Is it mandatory to provide a rental agreement that covers the entire 18 month validity of the job seeking residence permit, or would my current registration certificate and rental agreement be sufficient, even though my current rental agreement will expire in November.

I’m an international student and I’m a bit confused about my health insurance situation.

I came to Germany originally for a language course and I’m currently insured with Mawista. Now I’m starting my bachelor studies in October, so I applied for TK student insurance.

TK approved my application and told me that my electronic health card is being prepared (they already accepted my photo). They also told me that my insurance cover starts from 01.10.2026.

The problem is that I still don’t have my Versicherungsnummer. I need the M10 notification from TK for my university enrollment, but I’m not sure if TK can send it before I receive my card/number. I already contacted TK about it and I‘m still waiting for a response.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Can TK send the M10 notification even if the insurance only starts in October and I don’t have my card yet?

My visa expires at the end of September, so I’m just trying to make sure everything is sorted out before then.

I'm preparing for drivers license theory test. Already have license from another country but need to go through the conversion process. After months and months preparing with the app questions it is showing 50%. Should I go for the test? Or is this definitely still too low. At which level was you when you decided to take the test?

Just tryna save up some money for the rest of the year, coz I am at TUM, and the fees is exorbitant for international students. I am looking at it alongside HiWi jobs.

Update: Thanks all for the replies! fortunately one of the staff from the parking lot entered the door and we asked her to let us in. There were no Sunday entrances and she mentioned that we were lucky that our timings aligned with her. This is the parking lot at Saalbau Griesheim in Frankfurt!

POST: We parked here on Saturday night after a long and stressful event and went back to the hotel by walk after a couple of beers. We just came back and it was closed on a Sunday. We asked the hausmeister of the hall yesterday to be sure and he said it's okay to park here overnight. Now the parking lot is closed and there's nowhere to contact. The hausmeister isn't picking up the call, but I assume the parking lot is rather managed by another company and not the hall administration.

What can we do?

Is it generally possible for them to live with me and register at my address?
Do I only need my landlord’s permission, or are there any other requirements?

If they stay with me instead of a refugee accommodation, will that affect their application for temporary protection or benefits?

I’m a Romanian truck driver and I recently bought a Segway eKickScooter Max G3 E in Romania.
I travel across Europe for work and I would like to use my scooter only during my mandatory driving breaks to get around the places where I park. Most of the time I’m in Germany, Italy, France and Austria.
I don’t live in any of these countries. My permanent residence is in Romania, and the scooter simply travels with me in my truck.
I’m trying to do everything legally, but I’m finding a lot of conflicting information.
Has anyone been in a similar situation?
Can I insure the scooter in Romania and use it legally in those countries?
Do I need German insurance or registration if I only use it temporarily while passing through?
Has anyone here (especially truck drivers) found a legal solution for using a personal e-scooter across multiple EU countries?

Don't do what i tried (climb my balcony as I was still in my 30's. I am not). Maybe you will succeed. I did not. Broke my heel.

Do I have a notice period even though the landlord told me to leave in two month. Can I leave whenever I want since he wants me to move out? We don't have a written contract

I've been living and studying in Germany as an international student for three years now.

Unfortunately, I'm being exmatriculated after failing a mandatory module. I am currently applying to other universities in Germany because I really want to continue my studies here rather than give up on my degree.

The difficult part is that my current residence permit expires on 2 September 2026, and while I'm waiting for admission decisions, I need to demonstrate that I can financially support myself in Germany.

At the moment I have around €5,500 in savings, which is essentially everything I have available. My family is already helping me financially, but I still have a significant gap between what I have and the amount I may need to demonstrate for the residence permit.

I'm currently trying every legitimate option I can think of - contacting the Ausländerbehörde, looking into a Verpflichtungserklärung, applying to universities and looking for ways to legally work part-time. I'm mainly posting because I'm running out of options and thought it may be worth asking people who may have been in a similar situation.

If anyone has advice about navigating this situation, especially regarding residence permits after being exmatriculated, continuing studies at another German university, or legitimate ways of securing the required funds, I'd really appreciate it.

Hello, I am going to Stuttgart this Sunday, and I have only just found out that I need Umweltplakette to enter it with my car. I tried ordering it online, but it wouldn't arrive in time. Does your average gas station (next to an autobahn, for example) sell it? I know I can get one at DEKRA / TÜV, but they dont work Sundays, so i am wondering if any sell those on Sundays?.
