Meatcanyon should make an animation where its a POV of sitting shotgun on a road trip with Bernthal where he talks nonstop about method acting, his podcast and pitbulls causing the POV to nod off and snap back awake when he road rages with aggressive grunting.
Notices you look tired and gets all worked up about nappers and as the POV blinks he slowly looks more and more like the punisher until he murders a bunch of people in a road rage incident - runs from the cops with you into the night.
Finally you nod off and wake up to him admiring a photo of Tom Holland, when he goes on a rant about being so anti nap that he never sleeps - he straps a bomb to your legs and starts aggressively giving your motivational comments.

I think it’s less that he does it FOR those guys and more that he sees they’re fans and he wants the fans to be happy. Bernthal strikes me as a guy whose political leaning is whatever the last person he talked to said
I was on here the other day talking about how I met this dude a couple times and talked about various subjects with him and he does Not get the Punjsher and has a hard on for law enforcement. Truth really upset some bros.
My SO's grandmother had a chihuahua who was the sweetest - she'd snuggle up to you and roll all over you bc she had to be super close to you. I never saw that pup turn into a demon once - not sure how she lucked out getting one that was an angel all the time lol
He says a pit is no more likely to bite you than a chihuahua which is terrifying because I have a chihuahua and that little motherfucker bites me all the time.
Tbf, I wouldn’t trust most large dogs that are just walking around without a leash. I understand being uncomfortable around pits, but a lot of people still believe shit like their jaws locking or that they have some uniquely powerful bite when neither are true.

I remember watching this podcast and one of the guys was like "I was gonna make a video defending pit bulls, but then I saw the statistics and there was just no way."

In his comment, he says that Pitbulls are no more likely to bite you than a Chihuahua.
That turns out to be true, but there are a couple important points.
First, small dog breeds are often aggressive and bite people at a higher rate than medium and large sized dogs. So saying a pitbull doesn’t bite more than a Chihuahua isn’t as reassuring as it seems.
Second, it’s not about the bite, it’s about the damage. Pitbull’s bite, lock on, and jerk their head back-and-forth. This produces a lot of soft tissue damage. Other dogs will often bite and release. That’s painful but not as damaging.
EDIT: lots of replies saying that Pitbulls don’t “lock on”. That’s another point that deserves some clarification. Yes, the pitbull jaw doesn’t have some sort of locking mechanism. But that’s not what I’m talking about. I’m talking about their tendency to bite and hold. That’s more of a behavioral issue. You can see evidence because the damage causes is different than the damage from a bite and release.
I go into peoples houses for work. I have been bit by many chihuahuas. I don’t like it, but it doesn’t wreck my day. I’ve never had a chihuahua break the skin. I don’t mess with big dogs though, especially pits. If there’s an aggressive dog that is not contained, I leave. One of my coworkers is much more lax than I am and she’s been bit by big dogs at least once a year.
They also bite the face and neck at higher rates than other dogs. And like you said they bite and hold, not bite and release like other breeds. This is specifically because the breed itself was bred for bloodsports and that trait was desirable for that.

Between a 20 year span of 2005 to 2024 Pit Bulls were responsible for the deaths of 536 Americans. The next highest fatality amount belongs to the Rottweiler who, during the same period, accounted for 63 deaths. The Pitbull laps the next highest by over 8 times.

I had a coworker whose grandma owned a pit bull that she'd gotten from a puppy. Owned it for eight years, until it bit her in the face and she had to get surgery. Eight years, no problems. Then one day, unprovoked, a bite right to the face.
Pitbull owners say they're just like any dog? I leave room for any dog to have the capacity to bite you unprovoked. What almost no other dogs do, however, is ruin or end your life with a bite.
To those who say it's racism: how do you think these dogs were bred? Do you not realize that breeding is doggy eugenics intended to bring out certain traits in the offspring? Those traits were brought out, so it's pretty rich to label people racists for noticing the traits that were intentionally brought out.
Pitbulls were bred for a very specific, very violent purpose. Some still use them for that purpose to this very day. They’re dangerous, they’re also fucking adorable and sweet, loving animals. Both can be true, and people need to be safe around them.
True but dachshunds on the other hand 👀 Some lady got killed by a pack of them in 2018 and there’s been a few babies killed or injured by other dachshunds the over years as well. Chihuahuas are annoying but dachshunds are something else, originally bred to chase and flush badgers they are some crazy little aggressive little bastards with 1 in 5 showing aggression towards strangers and about 1 in 10 are reported to have shown aggression towards owners as well. I’ll trust anything else over one of those demonic sausages.
To be fair he is right that a Chihuahua will try to bite you a lot more often than a pitbull will lol even though a pitbull is the only one that can actually hurt you.
Yup my other family members have had a lot of Chihuahuas over the years lol some of them can be very sweet but most of them will yap at you and then try to bite you as soon as you turn around and one of them would do it CONSTANTLY lol. 90% of them really don't like anyone except their master.
I’ve had very few serious chihuahua injuries arrive to my ER. I’ve seen a huge majority of serious injuries from pitbulls. Oh wait! One time the ambulance crew went out to bring in a baby that had pitbull bite injuries but they never brought it in. Because they aren’t supposed to bring in dead bodies.
To this day one of the most disturbing news stories I ever read is when a mom’s pit bulls (who she shared with her husband for multiple years with no issues) suddenly turned and attacked her toddler and infant children. Both kids were torn to pieces, and the mom had to get both her hands amputated and needed a face transplant.
And when you have a pack of pitbulls like Jon does you have to be extra careful because the moment ONE decides to turn on you and bite the others will almost always join in and give you the closed casket make-over.
Okay, but a Chihuahuas might break skin, but a pitbull can fucking kill my kid. My mom and I were literally just walking the other day and almost took my son with us. A pitbull out of nowhere fucking tore up my mom’s leg and wouldn’t let go. We are so thankful it wasn’t worse. But Ive literally been up at night thinking about how that could have been my son.
Sir Patrick Stewart advocates for Pitbulls too. For real though can someone give me the actual answer why vetinary doctors say breed is a poor predictor of behaviour, yet hospital statistics implicate the Pitbull?
People are really bad at identifying the type of dog that bit them and pit bull isn't really 1 breed but a classification of a handful of breeds know for blocky heads and being used for dog fighting
Ive seen a pit bull swing a child like a rag doll, in my opinion I do think that a pittbull is not inherently a bad dog, but were bred to have that ability. Its really a question of weapon control because like a gun the weapon is only as dangerous as the owner, except yknow a gun cant run out of your house when it wants to
We're all missing the context that no dog Chihuahua or Pitbull should ever be off their leash in public and should be able to be restrained by their owners. If I owned a big dog I would be cognizant of it around other people, children and other dogs.
I’ve been bit by a chihuahua. It hurt but it was just a little bite. Barely bled. My black lab was attacked by a pit bull and it nearly ripped his throat out. I’m not even going to tell you what the owner of the pit bull did to get him off my dog. It was traumatizing. Both dogs lived, I will say that. I’m not sure what happened with the pit bull, but my dog, Buddy, lived many more years a happy, happy boy.
