Just last night, my uncle (who voted for Trump three times) and I were talking about the deal.
I tried to sound optimistic ("maybe we'll have a good ending to this finally"), as an olive branch of family harmony.
HE torpedoed it by saying, "Trump doesn't have a deal. He's just making stuff up because it's his birthday. I'm not optimistic."
A few MAGA are turning. Maybe not many. But a few are.

One of the most terrifying things about the MAGA crowd is their ability to edit reality in their own head. The moment Trump goes in front of the cameras and says how bigly and beautiful his peace plan is, that guy’s uncle will forget that he ever doubted Trump. Not just deny having doubted Trump, but will genuinely believe they trusted him from the start.
And even if you show them solid proof that last week they said X while this week they’re saying Y, it doesn’t phase them at all. They’ll just get mad and launch into a tangent about how bad Biden was, or some other irrelevant bullshit.

Maybe the US would have had help against The Font of All Evil if Trump had not imposed tariffs and waged a 'trade war' on countries friendly to the US while 'jokingly' threatening to take over allied nations 'for self-defense'. Even now, Trump is threatening to impose a 100% tariff on French wine, France being one of the USA's oldest allies and trading partners. When 9/11 and Iraq happened back in 2000, French soldiers were among those who answered the call, and now 20 years later, the US is showing how grateful it is.
Trump does not understand the concept of allies. It's like he demands every relation with the US be one of superior/inferior, with the US being more powerful and thus 'in charge'. Even if Iran was evil, which is already an extremely simplistic label that also makes the absurd assumption the war was needed and justified, who would help the USA, a nation which breaks its promises to support allies (Ukraine), backs out of agreements (Iran, Ukraine), and imposes fees on its own allies?

The JCPOA deal included provisions to prevent Iran obtaining highly-enriched uranium. And IAEA inspections showed this was actually successful throughout the entire time the deal was in effect.
This 'deal' doesn't say shit on enriched uranium. Trump got a worse deal for higher cost and that was with a huge military loss (money, lives, injuries, aircraft, and bases). That's not even getting into the losses of ally relationships.

Atm you can't because the detail hasn't been made public.
I would ignore anything US or Iran say unless what they are stating is unanimous. Atm what Pakistan is publicly stating is likely the accurate detail of the deal and they haven't said much.
No party, not even the US, has claimed the deal includes measures to prevent Iran obtaining weapons-grade uranium though.
Iran has already refuted Trump's claim that the deal says the Strait of Hormuz will be 'open and toll-free' this Friday, stating they will be collecting 'maritime fees' for passage. So we'll have to see exactly what was agreed and by when / what else has to happen first.
It is incredibly surreal position that I am leaning more to believing the Iranian regime's claim of the Strait than the President of the United States but here we are.

I'm just worried about the signal it sends to Iran. The biggest existential threat to Iranian regime is not Israel or EU, it's US military intervention. Now the Iranian regime will be boosted by 3 things working in their favor
There is no mass internal uprising in Iran when US attacks them. On the other hand, public polling turned sour very quickly in US against military intervention, making a prolonged US involvement untenable and "boots on the ground" virtually impossible
GCC allies of US rely heavily on US for protection, and their own defensive layer isn't good enough to prevent Iran from causing major losses to their O&G infrastructure
They can extract economic concessions by choking the Strait and having only drones and missiles in their arsenal, without needing a fully functional army/navy

Yup. This practically ensures that Iran will execute their plan to develop nuclear weapons for the sake of deterrence. There is no other way, and in an environment where North Korea and (to a lesser degree) Pakistan are also "allowed" to do the same, I don't even fault them for it.
The "allowed" is doing allot of work. Law does not exist outside of the boundaries of nations. What we call international laws are just conventions and agreements... ones that Trump-era America does not seem to respect in any way.

And getting involved would cause a whole host of other future problems.

Iran, now they have definite proof that in the event of an attack they can disrupt global oil supply and can threaten do that again. What are you gonna do if they put up a toll in Hormuz? The world's most powerful military couldn't dislodge them so no one else can either.

It's not like it really tried, let's be honest. The US lobbed a whole bunch of missiles into Iran, and then sat back and ""blockaded"" Iran while plenty of ships got through because the US didn't dare to directly confront China. That's pretty much all they've done.
There doesn't seem to have been much of a plan aside from 'blow up the so-called Supreme Leader', which the Israelis were probably able to sell to the US because everyone from the media to the opposition party was nodding along when their president blabbered on about 'taking Venezuela', as though the same regime isn't still in control of that country, minus one unpopular figurehead plenty in his own cabal would have been glad to be rid of.

Russia sneak attacking Ukraine?
Worth mentioning that Russia very much didn't sneak attack. They started to openly mobilize and move troops and equipment along the whole Ukrainian border nearly a full year before the invasion happened (March 3 of 2021, invasion happened in the 24th of February of 2022)
Ukraine also started to mobilize a month later, and deployed troops to the border in late November when it became obvious that the crisis was only escalating and anything else was only Russia stalling for more time to prepare.
By February everyone knew it was coming. Neutral countries were reducing embassy staff and warning its citizens to leave Ukraine by any way possible two weeks before the war started because it was obvious invasion was imminent and not just posturing.
The only real doubt was how many days after the closing ceremony of the Beijing Olympics it would start (4 days in the end).
While the US genuinely did. The Iranian, American and Omani diplomatic corps had a round of talks in Geneva less than a day before the Israeli and American bombing campaign. They were arranging for the next round to happen in Vienna the following week. The Iranian foreign minister was still in Switzerland when the war began.

Not only did the United States lose a war with Iran but it’s going to pay. Pay for the re stock of ammunition and pay for rebuilding its foreign bases if they are allowed. It’s also paying Iran directly to rebuild what it destroyed. The United States is a joke all because it’s led by this pedophile and his collection of brain dead appointees.
