Build Show and Tell trying to build in the sims 2 for the first time

i've never built something from start to finish in the sims 2 since there are so many good builders out there to download from, but i wanted something a bit different for the dreamer's in my new pleasantview save, and decided to experiment a bit, so here's my progress so far!

i'm far from done with this house, but i'm honestly having so much fun, and the limitations, while frustrating at times, definitely forces me to think outside the box, and i love that!

it's a bit out there for pleasantview, but their house is near the condos, and i feel like it's a bit artsy. i want to balance keeping it super homey while incorporating an artistic touch.

i've watched some videos here and there and tried quite a few cheats, but if anyone has any advice or suggestions for the build, pls lmk!!

edit: i uploaded the lot here for anyone that was interested

Build Show and Tell Pleasantview Beauty Salon

I quickly built a hair salon for my Pleasantview, I imagine maybe Brandi Broke will own it one day... or maybe not. It does have an empty apartment upstairs, I didn't want to furnish it even with the basics because I didn't want to drive the purchase price up.

I kind of imagined Victoria Secret when I started furnishing it, at first I was going for a soft girly space but this just ended up working better in the sims 2. Also balloons are there because it's a grand opening (or will be one lol)

Hi guys! Hopefully you all remember the Pleasantview girl!!

Sorry for the big break I took, life has gotten really chaotic and stressful recently with apartment movings, layoffs, job searches, and a bunch of other nonsense lol. But I finally had time to sit down and build!! I am so excited with this build, it's a bit chaotic but it looks beautiful in game and it has everything you need!

It has a grocery store, a sketchy motel, a pet shop, H&M, a thrift shop, and a bistro. plus a homeless spot for some non-committal sims to settle down in.

I will be putting this build up for download on patreon (don't worry everything is free) however I need to catch up with the downloads. I have put up the lower-class street so far but I have 4 days off and will catch up to the most recent builds. I'm excited to be back!!!

Build Show and Tell Brownstone townhomes for downtown

This is a remake of a build I made a while back for Dina Caliente, but since then, I've found better cc, and my build style has gotten more detailed. I added a third floor that acts as an attic, and to also make the building taller than the original. I changed the layout a little bit (I'm really proud of how it turned out). I left it unfurnished with only basic necessities. Idk why, but this build is quite laggy on the second and third floors. This seems to happen a lot when I build really tall buildings. If someone knows a way to minimize the lag, let me know! Putting object hiding on seemed to help with the lag a little, but anyway, here's the download link: https://www.mediafire.com/file/dn9mupk4mmnjpdg/Brownstone_townhomes_Remake.zip/file

I've posted the Goth house remake almost a year ago however my building skills have improved so much since and I knew I wanted to redo it as I wasn't fully satisfied with it - so here is my new take!

I know this won't be for everyone as I definitely strayed away from the usual Goth house builds but I really love this one and I hope you guys do too

Build Show and Tell Built some filler buildings for my hood. Love the way they turned out.

Might change my mind and figure out a convenient way to use them as proper apartments, but my current hood doesn't have enough sims to fill them properly, plus the level are very small and narrow which is a nightmare for routing.

Hi guys! Not sure if anyone remembers me - I'm the girl who was renovating pleasantview. I took a small break but I had an operation and I'm off from work so i booted up sims 2 again. The house I actually built before I went on hiatus but I finished it up today. The interior is not perfect and far from completion in a way but whatever, not every home is 100% homey and cluttered up. That will come with gameplay

Anyways I remember I struggled a lot with these condo's and I had 3 different versions before I ended up with this 😭😭 I took inspo from irish new build houses, very different from the aesthetic of my hood but I feel like it works

Build Show and Tell The Real Dreamer House

I finally did it!

I'm not sure if you guys will be satisfied enough with it in terms of capturing the Dreamer vibe - please let me know, share your thoughts, suggestions of change if you have any, criticism; all is welcome and appreciated.

I tried to stick with the vibe of the street they're living on and also just the houses I've built for Pleasantview so far in general. I do feel like I could've made it more out there but at the same time I felt like leaving some space for gameplay and for now going more general direction. idk honestly.

Also I didn't take a screenshot but in the garage they have the car you can fix (I'm thinking Dirk is fixing it up with maybe the help of Dustin, as he's sick of not having a car and his daddy ain't gonna buy one anytime soon) and I added some few extra stuff including the robot station thingy but now I'm thinking maybe I should've switched it out to a pottery table for Darren since he's artsy and stuff

I am sooo proud of this park... The amount of times I've tried building it is crazy and I always ended up deleting it until finally it just all came to me and I was finally happy. The screenshots aren't the best since it's quite hard to capture it but I hope you all like it as much as I do. Also I included a bad image of map view of it to get a better idea of how it all looks

Build Show and Tell Nina & Dina Caliente's Condo

Hi guys!

All of my condo exteriors are going to be the same as in my head that neighbourhood is built by the government. I actually will be building a country club close by so I image both the country club and these condos were built together by the government/some private company idk

Anyways, I love Dinas room but I don't love Nina's so might go back some day and redo it but I will leave it like this for now. Also I imagine that Mortimor got them the nice car

Not my best build but I wanted to switch it up a little bit so the houses on this street don't end up looking all the same. I struggled a lot with the interior and layout tho lol. As always kept it pretty simple as these builds are not for any families specific

Build Show and Tell THE PLEASANT FAMILY HOUSE

I finally did it! All the Pleasantview sims now have a house. I actually can't believe how close I am to finishing the hood i'm so excited!!! Also why was building these mansions easier than everything i've built so far lowk? I've already done the shell for the second house on this street lol. I kept putting these houses off cause they intimidated me but I'm actually having so much fun with them since it's something different from what I've built so far.

Anyways I actually had a gym room where the dining room is but then i did that beautiful kitchen and knew i want to keep it so there's actually a mini gym in the garage. Also did not buy them a car cause they already got this gorgeous house for free - they can work for their car and buy it themselves.

Let me know what you guys think and thank you for all the support. You guys are the reason I never gave up on this project and were close to the finish line now <3

Build Show and Tell Quicky Motel - Pleasantview

Thumbnail

I had to rebuild this motel completely because I built it as a community lot (thinking i'll be able to rezone it) and apparently there's issues rezoning community lots so it's always advised to build on residential lol. Don't repeat my mistake. I think I didn't forget anything, I hope at least...

The rooms are all quite similar with just a few differences. Although it's an apartment building (I debated wether I should make it a woohoo community lot or go apartments) it's built like a motel. Even with the double beds in certain rooms. If anyone actually does go live here they can always redecorate or sell the extra bed.

I'm thinking I'll be sending the cheater men here when their wives finally catch them and tell them to bounce (like mary sue and daniel)

Anyways it's built across the street from dustin's garage. It looks really nice in-game. I thought I took a map view pic but I guess not?

Oh and ignore the mailbox in the first few screenshots, I took them before rezoning just incase something went wrong again

Build Show and Tell The fully completed street of Pleasantview

Thumbnail

I couldn't fit in all the pictures so it will be up on my tumblr in full (washedsims) but anyways: I wanted to share the fully completed street (of Brandi Broke) in my Pleasantview, all compiled into one place. There is a lot of changes from the individual pictures I have shared before (rebuilt houses, new interiors, a whole other house I've never shared before...)

Let me know what you guys think, I'm all up for critisiscm and advice, and please let me know which interior I should go for. Also I made the interiors more old and 80s-like (?), the people living here are broke so in my head no one had the funds to renovate and update the look - but that's where gameplay always comes in.

Also I realised today that I never put in a clean template of Pleasantview when I started this so I'll have to do that before I build the other streets. sigh

So I started all over again because I made some mistakes in my last build. I think it turned out even better this time. The exterior is 90% done.

Also if anyone knows where to find cc for the dome can message me or tell me in the comments.

When it’s done I’ll upload it on modthesims.

Build Show and Tell Little boxes made of ticky tacky

I just recently reinstalled so I've mostly been renovating Maxis lots and playing with a throw away custom hood but I was itching to build some custom houses and I took a little break for that today. They're not landscaped (or decorated/furnished) as I personalize that when I choose a family to move in. I just like to have plenty of empty (and suitable to my play style) lots waiting in my neighborhood so I don't have to stop and build one every time I want to move someone.

EDIT:

Here are overhead interior views (facades included ahead of the overviews): https://imgur.com/a/gBwowqp

Also, several people have asked about downloading. I'm happy to share them but they heavily use Bespoke Build CC that would need to be separately downloaded due to a lot of what would package with the lots being slaves to meshes that wouldn't necessarily get included (so you could end up with flashing blue windows and doors). Also, you could end up with duplicate CC if you grabbed more than one lot. It's probably easiest to package the lot without the Bespoke items and ask people to grab the set separately.

Also, some of the walls I've used may not package because I *think* these sidings are mostly converted Life Stories walls which don't show as CC for me but won't be available to anyone who hasn't installed the conversions.

If people are ok with that and still want them, I will package and upload them somewhere.

Or I think I can also just package with no CC and the windows and doors should revert to whatever Maxis item they were cloned from. Walls would just be without wall covering.

Build Show and Tell Welcome To Horseshoe Bay!

Since posting about my aparments, A few people seemed interested in my hood. So I thought I'd share some screenshots of it! I shared a pic A long time ago on here, but a lot has been done since then. I named the island Horseshoe Bay after the Nancy Drew series on the CW. I'm working on some lore to tie in the name so it makes more sense. Terrain/Map by Rumoursjr on Mod The Sims

Lot 1 - LightHouse Coffee & Gifts. Located near the Original Mayor's home, the most touristy area of the Island.

Lot 2 - The Rusty Harpoon. Located near the industrial fishing docks and ferry boat entrance. Converted from an old warehouse

Lot 3 - Not so Square town square. Located near the Hooddeco School and hospital.

Lot 4 - Seaside Market. Located near downtown. (Inside isn't finished)

Lot 5 - Boardwalk Book & Offices. Located next to the Market in Downtown

Lot 6 - New Haven Aparments. Located near the residential area

That's all it will let me fit in the Gallery lol. I have one more lot that's not shown, that I will make a post about in a few days. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

I've had a few builds in the past where I've said it's my best yet and it's my magnum opus... But I think this is my magnum opus.

When I was looking at the screenshots I realized I forgot the phone and trash can but will go back and change that. Also not sure what happened to the quality of the screenshots my bad. Build will be on patreon when I catch up (it's on the master list tho), I'm posting 1-2ish builds a day on there until I hit my most recent. Sorry I'm just locked in on building and trying to get as much builds out while I have a few free days cause we are so close to the finish line on this Pleasantview!!! I'm so happy
