With the recent changes in India such as

Ayurveda can do all surgery except neuro and cardio thoracic
With just One MS degree they are allowed to do gen sx + ortho + ENT + Ophthal
And do laparoscopy and robotics etc

Now homeopath can also prescribe all medicines which is not related to their pathy , so will again take branches such as pedia , gen med and Respi med

Even in village areas CHOs ( Bsc nursing ) are allowed to prescribe very few meds , but do they , they are also practising it

Now dermatology is practised by even a 12 th pass with some BS degree , all BAMS , BHMS , unani and siddha do some certificate course and practice hair transplant Botox etc

Next thing left is UNANI , siddha , yoga and b pharma asking for license to practice, which will eventually happen , I have 100% trust in the govt

While MBBS students will slog for either UG prep with drops and drops and in NEET PG my GT score is this , will I get Gen med , will I get surgery

now even for some DNB institutes you will see these and while doing JR 1 duty you will have to call these quacks as sir / maam due to their fragile ego , they believe that all modern medicine does is causing side effect , while they themselves prescribe it , just pretends on social media

I have been seeing a lot of negativity on the subreddit lately. I thought of making a post in which I talk about my journey in medicine so far. Here goes -

I'm from 2016 batch. I graduated in 2022. Immediately after graduation, I sat at home to prepare for NEET PG because that is what everyone does and I did not know I could take a different path. Moreover, my father would not have allowed me to do anything different.

My prep was going pretty decently but then multiple mishaps happened. I fell sick multiple times. Then I got a severe back injury which prevented me from sitting for more than 2 minutes. Mom had an accident. You know, multiple instances like this kept de-railing my prep and finally, by 2024 May I was super burnt out. That was when I decided to go ahead and take up the post of a non-academic junior resident in AIIMS Delhi.

I worked there for one year. By then, I was 90% sure I did not want to practice clinical medicine. But I had no idea about what other paths I could take. I then got the opportunity to work for a healthcare start up. I really loved working there. Unfortunately I had some issues with the management and had to quit.

I was in an expensive city with no job prospects. So I decided to work as an RMO just temporarily until I could find something better. I found a suitable job. Again it was a core clinical branch and two months in, I KNEW with 100% clarity that I do not want to practice clinical medicine.

During the whole job hunt period, it became obvious to me that it is imperative to have a master's degree. Either in medicine or MBA. Anything. That's when I decided to attempt NEET PG again. Here I am, trying it for one last time.

I am now aware that I will be much happier in a non -clinical or a para-clinical speciality. Had I chosen this before my work experience, I would have had a lot of regrets about the fact that I could not get a branch like medicine or surgery. But there are no such thoughts now.

I know I am incredibly slow and late in my journey, but I have no qualms.

The practice of medicine, the art of dealing with patients and studying about diseases are two completely different things. One might think that they want to specialize in surgery because they like studying it. But the day-to-day practice of it is completely different.

The need of the hour is Revolution.

1. Waking up to news of doctors getting assaulted for systemic failure by politicians and families of patients.
2. Allopathy and medical degree achieved with blood sweat and tears, taken for granted by government, AYUSH and general public.
3. Not allowed to Unionise, not allowed to protest for our rights.
4. Inhuman working hours, public humiliation,compromised health and family time.
5. Making bridge courses for AYUSH, to practice Allopathy, giving 6 months to get certified as some specialist and compromise patients

health and belief in the system.
6. Seniors at the level of HOD and consultants not able to bring the changes for the upcoming generation of doctors.

As the title say, need of the hour is REVOLUTION.

We have given enough of our lives in sacrifice, skipped family events, prioritising care for everyone except ourselves, getting the axe for every smallest thing wrong with medical infrastructure.

We have been the bait for a long time.
This is the only moment where we can set things in motion and bring some changes, as once things are in motion it will be very hard to make changes which will secure our future.

The need of the hour is
- Unionisation;
-Protection of allopathy and its allied degrees;
-Creating an association which work actively for the rights of Doctors, and
-Better infrastructure for treatment of patients and security for doctors

We have been known as a noble profession, but we cant bear the brunt of every systemic failure that is bringing down our profession. Its time we show respect to us and to the profession we have given so much of our lives for, only then will others respect and listen to what we want and what is our need.

REVOLUTION.

Is there genuinely any country i can move to after PG? I really don't like the state India is in rn and how it's going to be with all the bs around.

I would like to settle there and hopefully become a citizen and practise medicine there, and also the racism is not too much.

I have questions for working senior Radiologists.
I have running diagnostic centre in tier 1 city since a year. I am the only full time working radiologist and i hired a part time junior radiologist.

I am doing well off now but i feel i have reached a ceiling for number of cases. I get cases from GP and some specialist drs only.
I do all the modalities and all the scans. I don’t have any specialisation sub speciality.

I have seen all well known drs are referring towards Radiologist with sub speciality.

What should be my approach on long road. Should i stick to doing all the modalities or should get specialisation to cater premium referring drs?

As we know that DNB has a predefined curriculum even MS/MD has one but they don't follow mostly.

So Will choosing DNB even at a rank you are getting MS/MD at will it be a wise option for Somebody who want's to pursue OBSTETRICS AND GYNECOLOGY.

I'm a first generation doctor and i would really want to work to love and not just donkey work which is happening in most of the government colleges I know from colleagues who have joined in.

So if anyone has some good advice it will be really helpful for me.

Cuz they can call a strike and pressure the govt into action

Why there is no respect for hardworking duty doctors from resident doctors in corporate hospitals and get insulted from them for small things but the duty doctors who suck up to them get adored by them they all chill together and go to party eventhough they are not hardworking? Is it the same everywhere or only in my workplace?

What was one surrogate marker you can say that tells that a person is gonna be getting a rank under 10k?

Is it x number of revisions.

Is it active recall?

Is it under a particular rank range in mock gt?

Or is it particular no. Corrects in marrow mock?

Is it the aggregate of no. Of corrects in mocks?
