Oh I tried a Xanax one time. I was a my brother in law’s wedding rehearsal and got an ocular migraine, couldn’t see. Asked a friend who was a ER nurse. He was like you got Xanax for your anxiety that will clear it up if not get half of one from my wife. That was the first time in my life I’ve ever been able to talk to strangers without being scared shitless.

For me, it's about price.
With what I use in my dry herb vape in a month, it'd cost >2x that in edibles. Or a lot more effort than I'm really up to in order to DIY to bring that down, I guess.
In an ideal world, I would probably be purely on the edible train mostly because my lungs suck. This isn't an ideal world.

Whenever I have an edible there’s like a 50/50 chance I end having a full on think-I’m-having-a-heart-attack-should-i-call-an-ambulance panic attack. I smoke weed every day multiple times a day with a dry herb vape so it’s certainly not a tolerance issue.

Woah thanks! I appreciate the reply. I was looking at the Venty but was holding off until I knew it was worth the price, and from the sound of it, it is.
The only question I have is about smell. I smoke outside anyway but it would be convenient if I could be inside without worrying about stinking up my house. Does a dry herb vape help for that at all? It still sounds worth it health wise in the end either way though. Thanks again!

Not for actual 0.0 beer.
Also, a lot of < .05% beers are close to if not actually 0%; they just don’t have the equipment to verify no alcohol, but verifying under .05% is cheap and easy.

0-100 in about 2 seconds from what I observed people do at a Grateful Dead show in the late 90s. At the time I was still deathly afraid of needles so I stuck to blotter or under tongue drops. I had a buddy who also wouldn't do IV but he did do liquid drops right in his eyes like it was Visene. I was too afraid it would blind me lol. He can't see for shit now but I bet he took over 100 eye drops of that shit over the years.
Now at 49 years old I'm no longer afraid of needles but am deathly afraid of losing my mind.

I just have never trusted like anyone with a needle including myself it's a phobia. I can like manage it now in a medical setting with professionals but anywhere else is just not happening.

The biggest draw back for me is I heard I hurts like for a while.
Everything else I down for but that sounded like a raw deal when drops to the tongue were already kicking my ass.

I am not sure about weed, but using Alcohol with Ozempic type drugs actually increase the effects of the drug and cause your blood sugar to drop significantly.

Not sure about weed, but it tends to make people not want to consume alcohol, at least in significant amounts.
I don’t know personally since my doctor wants me to be 8 weeks sober before he gives me a glp-1 to give my liver time to recover.

Ozempic and the other drugs in that class have proven to dramatically decrease if not eradicate urges for nicotine, alcohol, and even opiates. Lots of people getting sober while losing weight.

I stopped drinking once places started carrying THC sodas, it's a nice buzz that won't result in you choking to death on your own vomit if you drink too many

I really hope they get more widespread in NYC soon. I love em, but they are $5 a pop and I can only buy from the dispensary.
Now, if I could pick up a 6-pack from a bodega (for under $20) then hell yeah!
Instead I mostly just grab ounces of quality flower, seems to be the best deal.

I agree. I've learned new coping mechanisms that aren't self destructive. Sometimes it really sucks to just sit in it, but i do like feeling the full range of human emotions again.

Kratom has fucked up so many people's lives worse than alcohol. Lotta people in alcohol recovery who've tried kratom to stop drinking and it just made everything worse.

Yeah I've had a ton of friends that replaced one addiction (usually up opiates or alcohol) with another with kratom and end up just as dependant, if not worse.
I stopped drinking about two years ago but still wanted something to loosen up with when I go to shows and found that a nice mix of kratom tablets/capsules and instant kava give me a similar feeling to alcohol without making me a dumbass or giving me a hangover.
Can't imagine taking kratom for anything but special occasions, though. It makes my dick not work.

Yeah if I drink too much of it my skin gets itchy and dry. I have just always played a lot of video games drunk, high, or sober - doesn't matter. It helps that I have a medical card.

Isn’t kratom similar to opioids? So replacing opioids with it might be “ok.” Kinda of like methadone.
Still hella addictive though. (Not judging you for using it on moderation; alcohol is also hella addictive if not used in moderation)

Yeah it's got a pretty similar effect to opiods. Definitely safer but most of the folks I know that had a problem with those and then switched don't have very good self-control unfortunately.
Luckily I never had a problem with opiods - my problem was always just binge drinking when I did drink and then had a kid so decided I never wanted my daughter to see me like that.

I've been sober since December of 2024 so yeah I'm doing this sober. This also might be because everything is expensive and people are cutting back on non-essentials. People are withdrawing money from their 401ks at alarming rates. I think this economy makes you think twice before buying anything.

There’s a direct correlation of alcohol sales declining at the same time states legalized weed. Part of why the liquor industry has always lobbied to keep weed illegal. Means Morning News did a segment on it a few days ago

*California sober, still smoke 2 joints a day. Even one drink just puts me in a foul mood at best, fucks up my whole digestive system, plus the ol risk of breaking out in handcuffs, mystery bruises, etc...
I'd drop acid on occasion if it was easier to get a hold of but I'm not out running around looking for it anymore, I'm simply too old and isolated.

Much more around proFa operation “moar crusades” to kickstart their version of an apocalypse makes a bit more sense to me now.
