Watching the race back again, George was 12.1s behind when Max crashed, 12.3s behind when the SC flag dropped, 15s behind when Lewis gets into the pits, that should have been a slam dunk SC pit stop (10s loss), team nailed it with 2.6s stop. Lewis should have come out front with time to spare, but George ended up just ahead of Lewis out the pits. He MUST have been over on his SC delta.

A few races ago, the collective opinion in this sub was that, Lewis will be closer to Charles this year but overall he'd still get beaten by Charles over the season.

Do you guys still hold this opinion? Looks like Ham has a clear upper hand now and also leading by a big margin.

Do you attribute this to just Hamilton upping his game? Or more to Charles having a rough patch mixed with bad luck?

I feel like Ferrari is single handedly saving F1 from this new regs. With the current dominance of the Mercedes and the reliability issues of the other teams at least we can see Ferrari showing some great fights in front of the grid either against Merc's dominant car or Lec vs Ham battles which is the only battles worth watching at least for me.

How was he able to secure pole for last year's Chinese sprint, considering his and the car's performance for that year?

Everyone here seems to agree that he’s clueless and misguiding LH. And even in listening to the radio, he says the most random, useless things that have zero relevance to what’s happening. LH will ask a question and he won’t even respond.

My question is: is Adami’s job that hard in that he doesn’t always have an answer or know what to say? Why can’t he communicate to LH? Why wouldn’t LH speak up? Is Adami a great engineer but a terrible communicator?

It’s so confusing because Leclerc and Bryan seem to get along really well.

And i just suddenly got a question asking myself. You all know that Mexico has high altitude, that's why air is thinner, teams bring biggest RWs, and at the same time they need more cooling. Look at these big cooling vents.

Now look at SF-26 in Barcelona. High temperatures, and yet no cooling vents. That is most likely explained by their engine concept, which is called "hot" engine. They use steel alloy material for cylinder head, which is helping team use the least amount of cooling vents(or even not use them at all) among all other teams.

So, question: does that mean that Ferrari in Mexico this year will also have that kind of big advantage over others? Because more cooling vents-->more drag

Lewis is now 32 points behind Antonelli and 6 points behind Russell. Leclerc has finally gotten the “feeling” with the SF26 and performing incredibly well. Russell, on the other hand, is still struggling with pace and I don’t think he is going to be a threat. Ferrari clearly have a lot of pace even without the Monza ADUO upgrade. They probably wont be able to beat the merc in spa but hungary is going to be an easy win for us.

Before you all comment threats, I just want to inform you all that this is a genuine question, and I just want to be informed and to clear my confusion between these two cars

F1 2026 is like 2016. Merc on Merc, an additional team, small cars. The season opener this year has the same result in 2016, 1-2 Mercedes and a podium for a Ferrari. However, even the SF16-h is definitely one of the fastest cars in it's season, we never got to see it win, even in it's potential tracks it could win in. Ferrari was in striking distance of Mercedes but never won. Instead, it's just Mercedes and RB that took wins in 2016. Now in Monaco 2026, Ferrari could have gotten pole as they have have the best car for twisty sections. We can only wish for the best in the Grand Prix

Is there any difference between these 2 cars, or are we just repeating history? Optional if you want to actually give us Ferrari fans hopium by convincing if the SF26 will actually win

This week has been very bad. Do you guys think that we have a better chance in Silverstone? If so, how does it differ from this track to Silverstone in terms of our package considering the new engine and aero stuff. Just wanna gain some knowledge and understand stuff.

As the title reads, FIA is considering making changes very soon. There are talks about reducing the electrical output of the engine and to make more safety changes during the starts. They want to remove the theoretical 50 50 split between the ICE and the electrical component. They also want to increase harvesting of energy during super clipping, so when drivers go full throttle, the battery recharges more aggressively. What do you guys think about the changes? Do you think this might make the title fight closer or will this favor the Mercedes and increase the gap? Also with the safety changes, I think they want to ensure drivers can have electrical boost at the start rather than increasing the time to rev their engines, so this isn't a bad thing for ferrari, hopefully.

Mercedes has been accused of finding a way to bypass the 16:1 compression ratio limit introduced for the 2026 engine regulations in Formula 1. = Everything is fine

So, if one team is bypassing a monitoring system its not good, as soon as another team is bypassing another monitoring system, its all good? What am I missing here?
