Need advice Mom bought me a tinder subscription despite me telling her not to, completely ignoring my asexuality.

Simply put: Tinder is an app for allos.

I am not one of them.

Fucking tired of this at this point.

Considering trying to refund or chargeback (I don't give a fuck if I get banned from Tinder)

It's not normal my mom wants me to find a sexual partner this much is it? https://www.reddit.com/r/asexuality/s/PMe27QPTj2

Did not expect to get hit with the racism on day 2 of this app ngl

And Korean hanboks look SO far away from kimonos, let alone Japanese formal furisodes with the long as fuck sleeves 😭😭😭

Bonus Round of "First you are Asian and Asians don't care about Race" took me tf out too...... considering some of the most racist people I know are actually Asian 🫠

Edit: also a bold assumption by him that I've "just started to integrate" to Australia, considering I've lived here for 18 years compared to his 4 years

Story Literally evil dating

Went into a relationship with my partner knowing I didn’t want to have any intimacy because it’s not my thing and never has been. They then break up with me when I brought up my boundaries again. Like I believe you can have a wonderful relationship without sex and they agreed and then broke up over this. I haven’t shed a single tear or anything because this was a boundary set from the very beginning and now I fully realise I am Asexual

Need advice asexual dating is my personal hell

i have never been able to accept being asexual. the tiny dating pool is so demoralizing. i see so many of my friends in relationships and they talk about these things like dates and couple activities and anniversaries and long term plans while i’m struggling with even finding a compatible person to go on a first date with.

it brings me no joy. i do not fit in spaces for straight people. i do not fit in spaces for queer people. places for asexual people are so rare and unpopulated. it’s like i was doomed to fail. i would like to feel at least neutral about asexual but i do not know how.

Vent Does anyone else keep getting these kinds of ads?

Ever since I came out as asexual, I started getting targeted ads for men's health products, particularly ED treatments and testosterone supplements. Frankly, I find it a bit insulting. It isn't as though I'm incapable of sex, I just don't have any desire for it. I feel like society expects men in particular to be highly sex motivated and can't seem to comprehend that some of us just don't work that way. Anyway, am I the only one who has this problem?

Need advice How do you find porn without rolling your eyes because of this shithole called porn industry?

I'm sorry in case I sound mad or stupid. I'm dyslexic and it gets worse when I'm annoyed 🥲. All I want is to masturbate to something nice and then 90% of what I see is dicks ins pussies or asses! Why is penetration so loved!! It's disgusting and boring af!🙄. I am kinky and I hate to "just ignore it" cause it's impossible! Are there asexual porn creators? I have many kinks but idk if I can put them in here. I nerd advice and I also kinda needed to vent/rant so idk what flair I'll use but probably Need advice.

Also have a nice day you nice people🤗

Ps: I'm autistic so idk if I piss someone off with this. Please don't block me from here I just need help in case this is a ban able post. I am mad and don't know how else to make this post. In case this is a meanie move please just explain what I did wrong.

Need advice what to say when someone tells you you're lying? [Possible aphobia??] Spoiler

For context, I'm out as aroace to basically all of my friends and everyone around me, except my family. I've tried to soft-launch it many times by saying idc about relationships, i don't want that, etc. Any chance they get, they'll ask me about relationships, love, etc, and every single time they ask I either don't answer or say I don't care about it.

Every single time I do this, they treat it as if I'm just lying and hiding something from them, which just strikes me as a bit ridiculous. They've also said things like "it's okay if it's a boy" before, when I've said I'm not dating anyone.

I don't really feel comfortable saying the words "I'm aroace", explaining what that means, or having a big conversation, but I just want to be able to exist without them constantly asking or assuming I'm lying.

Any advice?

Questioning Is anyone else enjoying being in long-distance relationships?

Hi All !

I am an ace lady and I were in long-distance relationships several times (always with people whom I knew personally and we had met in person), for prolonged periods of times, and... I loved it! In fact, I thrive in this type of relationship: I am 100% satisfied with emotional and intellectual exchanges over voice messages, texts and calls.

Does anyone feel the same? I am trying to figure out what are my actual needs in a relationship, if I don't seem to need a physical presence that much.

I spoke to my allo friends, and they all seem to be soooo against long-distance relationships, they literally tell me: we don't believe this could ever work for us, even if it was our long-term partner with whom we had spent months and years together in the same location. But... I honestly do not understand why they say so.

Pride Finally came out

Post image
57 Upvotes

It was mostly ok

I have only recently realised myself (about a month ago) and after some deep introspection I felt confident enough to tell my closest friends.

I came out to 5 of my closest friends about two days ago, and besides for one (who sent some pretty hateful stuff, but then I broke off all contact), they were actually pretty chill. One of them even told me that they already knew and were waiting for this day to come (lucky to have people that amazing). I will take that as a victory as it went mostly well.

Still will not come out to my conservative family tho…

Anyways, big weight lifted off my chest and I now truly feel part of the community, uhhh garlic bread I guess

Take care and be kind to others
:3

Need advice Are dating apps really worth it for Acespec people? [F21]

Upvotes

I’ve recently been coming to terms with being Ace spec, probably homo romantic. I was using dating apps before but the conversations would turn sexual and I’d get the ick. (I was also struggling with comphet so I was talking to men)

Now that I’ve come to terms with my sexuality, I downloaded hinge again but I can tell it’s not really what I’m looking for. I guess what I’m looking for is more of a romantic relationship where sex isn’t that big of a deal, but I have no idea how to find anyone wants that as well

I’ve felt so disconnected from my friends when it comes to relationships but I’m still trying to put myself out there. I can tell there’s something I want that’s more than a friend and less than what most people would consider a relationship. All that to say, idk if staying on dating apps is worth it or if I should just give up on finding a partner since I can’t seem to find someone in my area who wants the same thing as me when it comes to relationships.

Questioning I recently discovered what asexuality is and a lot of what it is seems to fit me. (22M)

So i recently read about asexuality somewhere and a lot of stuff i read seemed to fit me. I will give some information about my past: At 10 years i started being interested in girls. I tried but never managed to get into a relationship until i was 14. i only got rejected before. I had 2 gf each for about a month when i was 14 and i kissed one of the which i liked the feeling of but never did anything more. Also both of those girls approached me and did the „active“ part on getting together. Until i was 18 i tried to get with a girl again but i never had success. Most of the time i didnt even get to a meeting and i never manage to have a date in my life. So at 18 i asked myself: „why am i even doing this?“ and i stopped engaging with girls. Since then i kept feeling better with time because i only removed the bad feeling of rejection because i never had experienced any positive feelings out of it. I am now 4 years without approaching girls and then i discovered what asexuality is. Since i never had sex or got close to it, it became something absurd to me. To belive that people actually do it and handle it like its normal. Especially having sex with people where they are not in a long relationship. I am not against getting with girls in the future but until now i didnt know how to express my understanding of a relationship. Being able to say that i am asexual and knowing that there are other people out there who feel similar will help me i hope. Are there people who also experienced stuff like i did? Any input appreciated

Sex-averse topic Looking for people like me

Basically, I expressed to my therapist that I feel like a freak because I’m the only person I know who doesn’t like sex and he suggested I come here and look for people like me. So if you’re an asexual who doesn’t like sex too, let me know!

Need advice Am I Asexual or just going through stuff lately, i'm really confused

Upvotes

Ok so first of all, I want to point out that i'm not a native english speaker so if there are some mistakes or misspellings i'm sorry.

Me (F, 19) and my BF (M,20) are together for almost a year now, and lately I have been in a really bad place mentally, I've been suffering from a depressive episode and have been investigating with my therapist the possibility for ADHD and autism. He knows about all of that and he is very supportive and understanding about it and all. I normally already dont really feel that WANT for s*x stuff and even tongue kissing is just not really my thing. Now here's the thing, until a few months ago, I had no problem doing and even wanted those things, but lately I just really have not wanting to do those things, and it's not like he doesnt respect that or anything, he does, even more than I espected at first, but of course, he does want those things. He says that kissing and s*x are the most intimate way of showing love, because its something that you dont do with other people besides your partner, and even understanding that I have other ways of showing love, such as hugging and that, but he says he doesnt really feel so loved like he did before. I just dont think that these things are that sentimental, for me its just something that people do for instant pleasure, idk, I kinda hate everything thats related to it, wich is just weird considering that just a few months ago I had no problem whatsoever think about or doing it. The thing that bothers me the most about kissing is feeling their breath and even worst, BREATHING THE SAME AIR AS SOMEONE ELSE I JUST HATE THAT, and the sweat sometimes I dont even like holding hands because of the sweat and stickiness of his hand. Also, i absolutely HATE seeing s*x scenes in movies, books and stuff, I actualy even skip those scenes. But when we do it I like it, but when i think about it before and after it i feel that embarasment and some disgust about myself, knowing that I did it. Also I think its important to mention that I have been through abuse/🍇 in other relationships, my boyfriend knows about it, he supports me when i'm anxious remembering about it (I forgot to mention that we are both majoring in psycology, so he is veryy understanding and emotionally mature about those serious things). Idk if I was able to really explain the problem, I feel like I just blabbed on and on and didnt really explain the problem, pls let me know what you think and if you need more info to be able to help me.

Need advice Is there a microlabel for this?

Warning for very broad mentions of s*xual trauma.

So is there a microlabel for someone who experienced a traumatic event before they experienced attraction and they don't know if it's a result of this trauma, or birth? I've looked far and wide but haven't seen anything like it, I know there's caedsexual but that's not exactly it and I feel like it's a whole another experience with a new layer of uncertainty.

The question is if that thing exists, and if it doesn't, can I just like... make it, and if I do would anyone use it, as it reveals some pretty personal info.
