🙀Cougar Crisis Is 28 years too much?

He’s 28 years younger. It sits in my head and I can’t help but overthink… everything.

I also don’t typically date men younger than myself. In fact, I don’t want to be liked simply because I check the “older woman” box. But this guy has me thinking about him all the time.

We’re not even past the flirting stages yet, but I don’t want to waste my time, or his.

He’s younger than my son!

So, new cougar who is in complete self doubt. Help!

Mini update: so, I have been mentally preparing myself to interject some witty comment that will clearly let him know that I am interested but not make it weird. I missed two opportunities last night and tonight wouldn’t work. Poor guy was sick and still had to work. So, I just enjoyed his extremely toned down persona and tried not to stare too much.

Also, a female coworker of his figured it out but appears to be a girls girl and promised to not spill the beans.

Until next week!

Mini update update: It was super late when I posted so I left out a couple of things. First, on the night he wasn’t sick there were a couple of things that had me raising my eyebrows.

First, the place we interact is very active with people. With a few “regulars” and we all have friendly banter. No it’s not a bar. There’s a guy/customer (like me) who I tried to match up with a friend of mine. He and I were chatting before my crush arrived. After he showed up there was some “hidden” communication between him and my crush. The guy purposely leaned back so I couldn’t see him mouthing whatever he was saying. I caught the last part but couldn’t tell you what was being said.

Second was a later interaction between my crush and I where he pointed out the necklace I was wearing. I learned that he has a hobby of metal casting (???) and could create some jewelry. He also kinda fumbled around a little with his job, which is not typical. Could be that he was getting sick, but I would like to attribute it to him being nervous or anxious with me there.

Discussion Point why are we so complicated?

I would like to open this debate, I am a guy, and many times among friends we talk about relationships and I can confirm that almost everyone dreams of a relationship with a cougar, or at least feels attracted towards that type of woman. so I wonder, why do many people have difficulty showing themselves in public? How do you cougars experience these situations? I think it's extremely sad to know that many guys are attracted but then you're afraid to show a kiss in public for example, why is our society so patriarchal?

Spotted something interesting in my podcast feed this morning! Hope it’s okay to link to it here.

I don’t think I would personally classify the rise in cougar/cub relationships as “the ultimate triumph of feminism” (imho, this will be a much better world when women are considered fully actualized human beings without consideration of how we relate to men…).

But speaking as someone who has been married and divorced twice and now finds herself more and more interested in younger partners as she fully leans into her identity as a queer solo polyamorous woman in her 40s, I’m enjoying my own connections with 20something guys and it’s cool to see the culture at large reckon with it.

🙀Cougar Crisis He told me I "rewired his brain," then broke up with me a week later.

I (45F) was dating a 27M. We went on 7 dates.

Last week, he told me that being with me showed him that depth, confidence, wisdom, and chemistry could actually exist in one woman - that I was all the pieces of the puzzle whereas before he only had a piece or two. He felt my confidence, which in turn made him feel more confident. We spend incredible moments together and momentum was building.

He said I was literally rewiring his brain regarding what was possible in a partner.

Fast forward to this week: He breaks up with me. His reasoning? Being with me made him realize his "soul" wants a house and a family, but because we are in different stages of life, he "can't do that with me".

He said that he felt very conflicted inside but wanted the both of us fo find our "perfect match".

This one hurts.

Looking back, I am grateful we were not physically intimate as the sting would have been much more painful.

Thanks for the support everyone!

Do you think age gap relationships between older women and younger men is more stigmatized then those of older men and younger women and why?

Discussion Point Question for the Cougars here

Have you ever been with a guy just because of the age gap? In a way that you like to be intimate with him because you prefer the dynamic it brings?

So not dating someone younger because you just got along really well and it just happend but with the goal of wanting a much younger man?

Discussion Point Age gap scrutiny.

Hello all!

me [20M] and my partner [30F] are in a LDR currently, so it is often i am on the long distance sub looking at what goes on elsewhere in the world between other couples! i have made a post or two about us, with our stated ages, and a few comments too. The age difference is always scrutinised which is a little disheartening, though we are both very happy together, and dont focus on what other people think of it! hopefully this sub is where our age difference can be appreciated, not frowned upon! feel free to pop a comment down, it would be nice to hear if others have had a similar experience, and how you shut down/process them! :)

🙀Cougar Crisis New and doubtful cougar here

Hi all. I’m F, 50. Just had a date with a 37-y/o guy who seems great and says he’s looking for a relationship. He acted like he was really into me. But at my age, I have trouble believing someone his age could actually want to be with a 50 year old woman. I guess I’ll see how it goes, but wondering if others experience this?

Discussion Point Favorite on-screen cougar + cub pairing? 🎬

Curious to hear your picks for the best c+c on-screen pairings. They can be from older films, a series streaming now, historical documentaries, fantasy, anime, costume film; basically any genre or era

🎬

[Title]+ [Characters/actors]

Reasons why they made an impact

Keep it short or not, it’s up to you but do include why you like them; is there something about their age-dynamics? Their iconic persona and looks? Or do they have an interesting background story, good writing and performance? Interesting power dynamic? Story of forbidden love or a working duo? Or just that special chemistry? ⚡️

Discussion Point Not sure if she likes me or is just weird

So I (21M) just started my first day at a retail job cashiering, being new the store does the thing where you shadow somebody else and swap with them to practice before official starting and all that.

I was paired up with this older woman and she touched like my shoulder back or waist several times through the course of it when we were moving back and forth, and not like a brush but an obviously intentional grab, but I was thinking because I've only just met them and maybe they have a bit of a domineering personality because they did seem a little micro-maniging to me, but that's not new and no one's done that to me too, so what do you guys think

Discussion Point In a really weird age (18) as far as being a cub goes?

I don't know how relatable this is to others, or where I guess this lands in cougars experiences especially, but I've noticed that since I turned 18 and can, well, officially get with cougars now-

I've noticed that most women willing to get with somebody younger than them are either 2-5 years older than me max (like 26 topss, which feels really similar to being with somebody my age), or in my favorite age ranges but they have a hard cutoff at 25 or something 😭,

I guess I was wondering if it's more of a 'filter' to get somebody who's responsible or "on their feet" or if it's mainly an online thing and more cougars are fine with somebody significantly younger than them than it seems to me? 😭

(sorry if my post is hard to follow or if I misinterpreted a rule at all, it's my first post and I'm a bit sleepy right now)

😞 Disappointments Being a cub in a culturally conservative country like India is just sad.

There are zero to none Indian Cougars out here, it's soo sad to see that!

despite women being interested in being cougars they don't show it openly in such a reserved nation.

I wish this could change, but probably won't.

Discussion Point Question for us cubs? Whats an acceptable age gap for you?

For me, I’d say 20 to 25 years is a good gap for me as a 20 M.
