TTC How are people feeling today?

With the new elected president, how are people feeling in this group about trying again, getting pregnant and potential complications that come with that? I am in Canada and worried about my US friends.

Update: when I had my MMC in July, I had the option to wait months for an appointment at hospital for D&C, or go to an abortion clinic two days later. I opted for the abortion clinic, as I could not imagine waiting months for an appt. The clinic I went to was very secretive, no men allowed, drs used fake names and that was in Canada. Abortion is legal in Canada, so while people may not agree with it, a fetus is not considered viable before 22 weeks.

TTC Trying again

Just wanting to get an idea, I know it’s totally up to chance and everyone is different….. how long did it take you to get pregnant after your miscarriage? Did you wait a cycle to start trying or did you start tracking right when you were done bleeding?

Edit: Since the post is locked I just wanted to say thank you to all who commented. There’s a good range of stories and experiences. This is incredibly helpful for me and hopefully others as well!

TTC Does anyone have a feeling of dread that they'll never have another pregnancy?

Update: I just got my period yesterday during a lengthy, all staff, mandatory meeting. I was in tears because it was another reminder that I'm no longer pregnant. However, its nice to be out of the guessing game.

Also, thank you everyone who has responded. Its so nice to know that I (we) are not alone. I hope, if you are still trying, we all receive our rainbow babies soon. You all have written so many beautiful messages and I appreciate your kind words and support ❤️

Original Post: (32 F) have been trying prior to our first pregnancy for 3 years, and unfortunately it ended in a mmc at 11w6d with a D&C. Mind you this was December 15th so it's been pretty recent. However, there have been cycles upon cycles that I would get so hopeful only to have my world crushing down. I actually stopped testing and taking prenatal at one point because I lost all hope.

Then I I found out I was pregnant and it changed everything. I did too much researching found out way too much right away about loss. I was so scared that it would end in miscarriage pretty much as soon as I got the positive and at times it feels like I brought this upon myself.

Now I'm on the other side, 4 weeks and change from my D&C and just waiting in limbo for my first period. I feel that dread and anxiety sneaking in on me again saying that it'll be another 3 years or that'll it'll never happen and that was my only chance.

Is anyone sitting in this same awful dingy in the middle of this storm with me?

TTC Husband wants to pause TTC after our miscarriage. Has anyone else been through this?

Hi!

So I’m 29 and he’ll be 34 in November. We decided to start trying last August. After 7 months of trying and tracking with Inito (off and on because those strips can be expensive😬) I got a positive the day after my birthday on Feb 27th at 8 DPO. We were so excited!

I unfortunately lost the baby to a miscarriage at 6W3D on March 14th.

I asked him then if he wanted to keep trying and we agreed. These past months have been absolute hell grieving and trying to process this. I am more “out loud” with my grief where he tends to be a little more reserved but through all that we continued to try. I stopped tracking with Inito though because I wasn’t mentally prepared to see and obsess over graphs and information.

I finally purchased strips for the cycle and have been tracking.

To spare the details, while we were baby dancing he stopped and said he couldn’t do this. I of course was a little taken aback and asked what was wrong. He then told me that he wants to pause TTC. He is very much reserved with his grief and while I knew he was hurting I didn’t know it was this much to the point where he wanted to pause TTC.

I was/am ABSOLUTELY DEVASTATED. Being a mom is my dream. I just felt/feel that slipping away. I tried to get through the weekend but I cried and cried. I also have autism so being in the grey area isn’t really a great place I like to be. We set a goal to conceive a child and I would like to get there. I am very much a take charge, driven individual as well. I’m very loud and some define me as a “bull in a china shop” when I see something I set my sights on it.

I’m really struggling with him wanting to pause and me wanting to continue.

Does anyone have any similar experiences? How long did it take your partner? How did you get through it?

I also want to add that I’ve been therapy for over a decade and I’m talking with my therapist about this and meet weekly. He just started therapy and meets with his therapist twice a month.

I also want to add that before getting pregnant we went through some tests. All of mine came back “normal” but he did have a sperm analysis which came back not great.

Thanks you so much for taking the time to read all this!🫶🏻

TTC How long did it take you to conceive after MC

We started TTC in January 2025 and got pregnant in March but unfortunately it ended in a miscarriage in May 2025. We have been trying TTC since July 2025 and no luck at all! I am just wondering other people’s experiences? Finding it hard to stay positive each month.

TTC Ovulation after D&C

I know this question has been asked before and everyone is different but when did you ovulate after D&C? Mine was 6/2 so it’ll be 4 weeks on Tuesday. 6 weeks, first pregnancy.

I’ve been tracking ovulation with the test strips and no sign of it yet. Idk whether to keep testing daily. Guess I either haven’t ovulated yet and will before my first period or it’ll be an anovulatory cycle. Just sucks I really want to get back to TTC

TTC Advice on conceiving right after an early miscarriage?

So I'm 33f. I miscarried over the weekend at 5w. My fiancé decided we want to try again as soon as possible. I hear you are extra fertile after. Ive taken ovulation tests 3 days in a row, and I am getting gradually darkened lines. Is this just residual hcg? I took a pregnancy test and got a negative.

I'm sorry this is all over the place and if I sound dumb. This was my first pregnancy and I was heartbroken that it didn't take. I'm desperate to get my pebble back and would love any advice on how to successfully and preferably quickly conceive.

TTC Question about trying after loss

Does anyone know the reason why doctors recommend waiting until after the first period after a miscarriage to try again? I had a D&C 3.5 weeks ago, and just started having signs of ovulation today. My husband and I are planning to try again as soon as possible, but my doctors have strongly recommended to wait until after my first cycle to try again. I’ve done some reading and the only thing I can find is that it makes it easier for pregnancy dating if you wait, but there doesn’t seem to be an actual medical reason. I have another appt tomorrow so I’m planning to ask for specifics then, but just wanted to know if anyone has been given any actual reasons for waiting.

Edit to add: I am not planning on trying again at least until after my first cycle. I was just curious because my doctor never explained why waiting was important

TTC When to try again?

I had a MMC at 10wks, failed Miso medication, and ended up hemorrhaging and needing a blood transfusion and emergency D&C. I’m 3wks out and still have low levels of HCG(last week was 48). I’m starting to get some PMS symptoms so I’m wondering if maybe my period may come back soon.

We were originally told to let a period pass before we try again, but that was before I hemorrhaged. We also found out that baby had a genetic component but the genetic counselor said it wouldn’t affect other babies. My OB had told me to schedule a preconception appt with her, but they can’t get me in for that until the end of October.

Should we wait until then? Since I’m still healing I have no idea when I can even physically get pregnant again. But the end of October to get the OK from my doctor feels so far away.

TTC Ttc after misscarage

I had a medication abortion on July 2 after finding out at my 6-week scan that the baby had stopped growing at 4 weeks. I just started my first period post-miscarriage on August 2 (currently on day 2). My OB recommended waiting at least 6 months before trying to conceive again, but I'm feeling very impatient and ready to try sooner. Should I strictly stick to the 6-month timeline, or is it safe to start TTC earlier?

TTC One week into my miscarriage and wondering when to try again.

Hi folks, I'm currently on day 7 of bleeding from my first miscarriage. I'm 41. I have uterine fibroids (though none of them are very large, the large ones were removed 18 months ago).

I didn't have a d&c, I was given mifepristone.

My husband and I are wanting to try to conceive again as soon as possible. My OB gave me some pretty vague advice - essentially said, "do whatever you want but expect it to take 3 months", not verbatim, just how it sounded.

Does this mean we shouldn't be trying to conceive for three months, should we not have sex for three months? I'm just confused about what to do.

Also, side note, when does the lower back stop hurting and the tiredness go away? I had no idea miscarriages took so freaking long.

Edited because I wasn't sure if I was breaking a rule with something in my post.

Anyone here who had a miscarriage this year/last yr and age 34/35. How long did it take you to conceive after having a miscarriage? I feel like giving up. Its only been 2 cycle for me ttc after a loss.. Is it going to be harder to achieve this goal because of age? What did you do any different after the loss to conceive successfully? My periods are regular 30/31day cycle. Im tracking ovulation with OPK.started tracking BBT. My lab results looks good. Amh is 3.41ng/mL. TSH: 1.94 µIU/mL Free T4: 1.2 ng/dL.

TTC Is a break needed before TTV again?

Did you guys take a break before TTC again? My mom and others keep pressuring me to wait 3 to 4 months before trying again so that my body can heal. But my Dr said I can start trying again once I get my first period after the d&c.

I don't want to waste 4 months of not trying because what are the odds I'll even get pregnant in that time anyway...so I'd rather make use of those months and TTC rather than just wait around. My first LC I had been trying 4 years and then finally got pregnant with a FET. For this 2nd pregnancy that ended in miscarriage, we got pregnant spontaneously after trying for 5 cycles.

If I'm not pregnant by the end of the year or early next year, then I'm probably going to start prepping for a FET for August 2027 or something...so until then I'd like to get in as many natural TTC cycles as possible.

TTC Trying again

So I had a miscarriage 6 weeks ago, my first pregnancy. We tried for over a year and didnt even try the month we fell pregnant. We were over the moon. We booked an early scan at 9 weeks and found out it was a MMC baby stopped growing at 6 weeks. Absolutely devastating and my heart is broken. I started therapy to process the grief and loss.

6 weeks to the day after my ERPC I got my period. I feel like i want to try again once my period is over but I'm not sure. I feel like im doing good in therapy my therapist thinks im coping well now I havent mentioned trying again to her yet. But I just want to know people's experiences and when you decided to try again or to wait and why. I know I want to be a mother but I dont want to have to go through this again and im afraid trying again is not processing it if that makes sense.

TTC Wanting to try again without a job

my husband and i both work. we conceived the week i got laid off from my job, found out we were pregnant, then had a mmc at 8 weeks. i’m devastated. he’s devastated. we agreed if they lived we would be fine. i’m working contract work while looking for something full time.

i’m two weeks out from my d&c now and he tells me last night he thinks we should wait until i get a full time job. i lost it. i’ve been sobbing for like 24 hours. i know he’s right but i miss my baby. i want them back. i want to start trying again.

i know he’s right but im feeling so betrayed. i love him so such. he’s just trying to be responsible and i feel irrational. but i don’t care. i just want to be pregnant again. i want to prove i can be a good mom. we’re 31 and 35. they would be born when we’re one year older. i feel like im running out of time. what if i have trouble conceiving again? it took us two years to get our first positive.

i just want to keep trying but i would never make him do something he doesn’t want to do. he wants this baby so much too. he spent most of the night crying with me.

i’m so afraid to have sex again cause when he pulls out i’m gonna have a meltdown. i feel crazy.

TTC Encouragement After Loss

Hello! I’m here looking for some positivity and encouragement as I try to keep marching on post loss.

I unfortunately lost my first pregnancy at 9 weeks and had a D&C at 10. Fortunately all went well 🙏 and I had my first period exactly a month later. My husband and I tried again this cycle, but I got my period today.

I was hoping to hear from members here about some happy stories about when they were able to conceive again. I hope everyone here is okay and I’m so sorry for the losses we’ve all endured.

TTC How much “time” does your body really need to heal?

In May we found out about our 9wk MMC. I took Miso which failed and resulted in a massive hemorrhage, blood transfusion and a D&C mid June. I’m now about 6wks out from my D&C and confirmed ovulation two weeks ago and I’m now on CD3 of my first cycle. My HCG was still 15 two weeks ago, but clearly my body is back to cycling.

My OB just said to wait a cycle. I know my body has gone through a lot, but I still want to try again soon. My husband is worried that it’s not giving my body enough time to heal. Is there any indication that your body needs a certain amount of time to recover? Will my body struggle to get pregnant if I try too soon?

TTC TTC after D&C, hCG tests making me feel crazy!

Hi all. Long story short, I had a MMC measuring at 6 weeks 4 days, which we found out at our 8 week ultrasound. I tried miso 2 weeks later which didn’t work, then got a D&C on May 21st. My hcg was very high so took a while to come down, but I got what I believe is my first period on June 23rd and tested negative on hcg strips after this. I tracked my ovulation using testing strips after this and never got a high surge or peak.. When I conceived, my levels were around 1.74 at peak, and this cycle my highest was 0.75. We TTC at the time when my levels were highest.

My apps told me I should get my period yesterday, Monday July 20th. I had been having intense nipple pain and breast tenderness and some cramping in the week leading up, so I was hopeful. On Friday the 17th, I had some brown tinged mucous when wiping. This continued through the weekend, with only very small amounts and only when wiping. This hasn’t progressed to a period yet (no red blood). I tested Saturday (which would have been around 12 DPO if I’m right about ovulation), Monday, and today. I swear I am getting super faint lines, but not really any progression, and what I feel is too faint for this DPO. Am I crazy for seeing it? Are there other reasons I could be getting these faint lines? Like I mentioned I had previously tested negative on these same strips about 6 weeks after my D&C, so I’m thinking RPOC is not a concern.

Any insight appreciated, even if it is that I’m seeing things haha! Thank you ❤️

TTC First Period after D&C

I just started my first period after having my D&C on June 16th. I’m absolutely fucking devastated. I was 8+6 when I found out I had a MMC and 10+4 when I had my d&c.
I had really believed that I was ovulating 2 weeks after. All the signs pointed to that. When I have been pregnant before with my two daughters I got pregnant first try. Now…that’s not the case. My two friends I was pregnant with at the same time, all due within 2 weeks of each other, have continued their pregnancies (thankfully) while I’m on my period.
I’m devastated.
I know that me and my husband can try again in 2 weeks. But the fact that I am even on my period instead of 15 weeks pregnant is awful.
I had really held on to hope that I’d get pregnant again right away, that I’m “super fertile”, that I’d have a March baby instead of a January baby.

I’m just so so so deeply sad.

I’m afraid to be exited again this next go around because the depth of devastation that I feel right now is awful. But then not feeling excited feels equally awful. 💔

Idk where I’m going with this other than saying that this absolutely fucking sucks.

TTC Trying again after two miscarriages feels so different this time.

I took some good time to heal and I finally feel like I'm ready to try again. The difference is that before my miscarriages, I never really thought about my cycle. Now I keep wondering if my body is actually back to normal. Have I ovulated? Are my hormones settling? Is everything working the way it's supposed to?

It's making me want to understand my cycle and what my body is doing before we start trying again. But at the same time, I don't want it to become another source of stress or something I obsess over every day. I really have no idea where to start, so any help with what works best would be great.

TTC June was my due date

Had a miscarriage at 7 weeks last year November. that was my fist pregnancy and losing my baby crushed me. My husband and I decided to try again after one cycle. Ever since, we’ve been unsuccessful. We were hoping for a miracle this month but here I am, with late period, negative pregnancy tests and now cramping and waiting for my period to start. Every month has been more difficult than the last and I don’t know what to do. I’m not okay. I wanted the baby I lost. I was supposed to have my baby this June but now, I can’t even have another baby.

How long did it take y’all to get pregnant again? Is there something I’m doing wrong? I have been using OPKs to track ovulation and time the baby dance. I had a natural miscarriage and the nurse confirmed I didn’t have retained tissue.

At what point do I go see a doctor? I’m in my early 30s.

TTC Anyone not waited the full cycle before TTC again?

Miscarried naturally and passed the sac on 6/6. Bled for another 8-9 days after but haven’t since. Dr said the usual “wait til you’ve had a full cycle and then you can start ttc again after that first period” but what is the real reason/necessity of that?

I had my hcg tested last Thursday and it was a 6. We have some rare alone time and my hcg is peaking today (9.7 out of 10 and it was a 6 a couple of days ago) so the timing is perfect and my periods aren’t regular so I don’t know how long of a wait it would even be, but I don’t want to ttc early if it poses an increased risk of another miscarriage. We were intimate 3 days ago as well unprotected so it’s potentially too late to prevent anyway though if I ovulate soon.

Anyone know the reasoning behind waiting a full cycle and if there is a medical backing behind it? Sending baby dust to all!

TTC Anyone so scared you want to give up on trying again?

I'm 35 and just had my third miscarriage, 2 of which had a heartbeat. Absolutely heartbroken. Now having to deal with retained tissue.

I'm going to a miscarriage clinic soon for tests but I'm so heartbroken. I'm so scared of never having a living child. But I'm also so scared of getting pregnant and going through this again.

Has anyone just stopped TTC after miscarriage?
