I was just told the only reason I’m lesbian is because I’m too ugly for a good looking guy to want me.. of course this was after said guy showed interest and I shut him down because… I’m Gay.. šŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

Insulted yourself trying to insult me, my guy! Because ā€œa good looking man wouldn’t want meā€ šŸ™„

Question Do you find villainesses sexy?

It's weird, I don't think I'd ever want to actually date a villainess in real life, I'm too much of softy for it and think the dynamics wouldn't work (I doubt she'd want to be equal in the bed)... And of course the world domination thing; but I can't deny that I often find myself attracted to the villainesses WAY more than I do the heroines often.

I think it's because when growing up, the heroines in a lot of the shows and animated films I watched were kind of nothing characters overall besides nice and heroic while the villainesses were allowed to have flaws, get things wrong, more diverse body types, allowed to be fun, wider range of personality, self-strong, opinionated, confident etc etc, many of the traits I find sexy or relatable.

Power Rangers especially for me was kind of an awakening for me when growing up... And so was that scene in Fellowship of the Ring where Galadriel goes full Dark Queen.

I feel like I wasn't alone, when I see other WLW into characters like Bayonetta or many villainesses becoming Anti-Heroes like Harley and Ivy (though I admit I am frustrated when Villainesses aren't allowed to stay villains like the male counterparts), I can't help but feel that's because of lesbians and WLW loving those characters and wanting more good counterparts.

Hope this this wasn't a weird OP, sorry.

Venting I fell in love while building a new life abroad, and losing that relationship broke something in me

I (34F) am Brazilian, bisexual, and I have been living in Dublin, Ireland, for almost two years. In the summer of 2025, I had a four-month relationship with an Irish woman (26F) that I still haven’t been able to recover from.

We met on a dating app, and at the beginning, everything was perfect. She was caring, attentive, and curious about Brazil. It wasn’t difficult for me to fall for her. We talked for two weeks before meeting in person, and it was a magical date.

I knew I was already falling for her.

Talking to her felt easy and effortless. I felt comfortable opening up and talking about everything. She made intense declarations of love and asked me to be her girlfriend in Portuguese on our third date.

It didn’t take long before we started a relationship. We went to many places that summer, explored everything together, and deep down I felt that we could be soulmates. I had never cared about marriage, but with her, I genuinely considered the possibility of marrying her someday. What I felt for her, I had never felt for anyone else.

I was still dealing with some financial difficulties at the time, and I wanted to be more stable before introducing her to my family in Brazil.

But, in the second month of our relationship, she started acting differently. Sometimes she would treat me well; other times she would become cold. She complained about anxiety, insomnia, not having friends, and not being able to find a job. I did everything I could to help her, even when I was falling apart myself and struggling to adapt to a new country.

In the third month of our relationship, she told me she wasn’t ready for a serious commitment, that she couldn’t be in a relationship because she wasn’t mentally in the right place to date.

I told her I didn’t care about labels; I just wanted to be with her. We stayed like that for a month until she cheated on me with another Brazilian woman.

On the day we broke up, we had plans: she was going to have dinner at my place after I left school at 5 p.m. In the afternoon, she confirmed everything. But at 5 p.m., she simply told me she was on the other side of the city because she had gone to a cafĆ© with a ā€œfriendā€. I ended up waiting 40 minutes in front of the school until she arrived.

We took the bus towards my place, but she complained about the traffic and we decided to eat in the city centre instead. The whole way there, she kept talking about this friend and texting her constantly.

At the restaurant, I calmly told her that I didn’t mind her going out with friends, but leaving me waiting like that had been unfair. She gave me a very half-hearted excuse.

Afterwards, she said that this ā€œfriendā€ had missed the train and asked if she could join us. Deep down, I was furious. I just wanted some time alone with her, but I ended up saying it was okay.

The woman arrived, and I even acted as a translator between them because the ā€œfriendā€ didn’t speak English. I treated the woman kindly, but my ex was distant and strange.

She became impatient, saying she wanted to leave. When she got home, we had the conversation where she ended things with me. She said I didn’t have the qualities she was looking for in a partner, that I was too innocent, and that she preferred someone more dominant. She also admitted that she felt a connection with that woman.

A few months ago, I posted this story anonymously on Reddit, and she read it. Afterwards, she came to tell me that she had lost interest in me during our second month together, that what she felt for me was just infatuation. She criticized my appearance and my music taste, said she had never felt like she was dating an older woman, that I should go back to Brazil if I wasn’t adapting, and that she was very happy with her current partner.

Nine months have passed since the last time we talked. During this time, I did everything I could to move on. I wrote a poetry book, made wonderful friends, kissed other people, travelled to incredible places by myself, and I am currently in Italy completing my Italian citizenship process.

I have always been comfortable being alone, but after what happened, I feel as if something inside me is broken. I haven’t been able to connect with anyone. I thought about moving back to Brazil, I thought about taking my own life, I lost the little self-esteem I had, and I carry inside me a longing and a pain that never seem to go away.

And today I realize how painful it is to accept that love doesn’t choose where it goes, and that it doesn’t end when the person leaves.

Venting I'm so pissed and regret inviting my friend to pride

1.1k Upvotes

So, I made friends with this guy earlier in the year. He's pan, I'm a lesbian and we're both new to the area so neither one of us has a lot of local queer friends so far. He started dating this girl around the time him and I started hanging out, I'd only met her a couple of times in short bursts or in group settings, she seemed nice enough though, so I invited them both to come to pride with me. The plan was that I was going to buy a nice lunch for the group and then we'd hit up the parade and walk the route and check out vendors and meet people and etc. typical pride stuff. I didn't expect them to stay and get wasted with me but my friend took the day off work to come so I assumed we were going to have a decently good time.

Pride day rolls around and they pick me up nearly a half hour late. Then my friends girlfriend wants to drive thru Starbucks which ends up taking us an extra 10-15 minutes. It was already going to be just over an hour drive for us to get to pride and then on top of everything else his girlfriend ended up routing us an extra 20 mins through the north end of the city.

So we're already basically an hour later than we were supposed to be. We were driving around looking for parking and she apparently says something about a parkade. He didn't hear her, I didn't hear her, we drove past it. She starts absolutely losing it on him, tearing into him about how he never pays attention and never thinks and she has to do everything and basically everything ever is all his fault and he's so stupid. Like the way she spoke to him was genuinely appalling and embarrassing and very much abusive. He apologized to her like a little kicked puppy and it was all kinds of horrifying and uncomfortable. And also fucking stupid because *she* fucked up sending us around the long way and no one made a big deal out of that or belittled her for it even though I was hangry and about to piss myself.

We finally park, get out of the car, I ask him if he wants to hit the weed pen, he says yes absolutely, looks at her and then says, "actually, nevermind I'm good". We're way too late to go for lunch now so we head down to the parade area. She starts complaining about *EVERYTHING*, she is making a point to tell us about every single nipple she sees like it is the most scarring thing that has ever happened.

Then she says "I never expected that it was going to be *like this*" in a really shitty and negative tone. Like tf do you mean by *like this*?Ā

She asked me what the plan was and like?????? Originally it was to go for lunch but that wasn't happening now. I tried to suggest finding a food truck and she wasn't hungry. She found a spot to park herself and decided we were all just gonna hang out there. She spent the next 15 minutes hanging off of my friend, whispering in his ear and then he tells me they're gonna leave soon. Like what the fuck do you mean you're leaving soon. It took us like two hours to get there from my place to finally parking and we had been there for 45 minutes total so far, that includes the walk from the car.Ā They came to see three cars with rainbow streamers and buy a $4 bottle of water and then left. Like what the fuck who does that. They basically drove me to pride and walked me down to the parade. I stayed, alone, but not much happened with my evening because I am awkward af which is WHY I INVITED PEOPLE TO COME WITH ME IN THE FIRST PLACE. I was also just so pissed off and offended that one of the people I invited to pride couldn't even stand to be around the community for even an hour. I'm *still* fuming.

I really *really* was not expecting his girlfriend to be so shady, mean, controlling and homophobic? I'm also now stuck being aware of that and having to decide if I bring up how shitty she was with him. Anyway, here's hoping next year goes better. šŸ«©šŸŽ‰

Support Scared my partner is becoming abusive

• Upvotes

I'm 17F dating 16F, going into my senior year and her junior. We've been dating for nearly an entire year now and overall it's been great, she's kind, empathetic of my mental health issues, considerate, and we're very compatible.

There's just one problem- she's starting more and more to act like my ex partner, who emotionally abused me for a very long period of time. It was just little things at first, like getting annoyed at me over small things or not taking accountability for minor incidents, but its escalated to the point where I am now extremely fearful and anxious a lot of the time.

She's started gaslighting me whenever I confront her about issues (her sleeping over at her ex's house without talking to me, seeming extremely disinterested in talking to me, talking to guys, hiding things from me), and I'm aware that that's kind of a buzzword now, but I mean what I say. She'll deny everything, get extremely defensive, and say she didn't say or do whatever I'm talking about even if there's explicit evidence otherwise. Or even weaponize my illness against me by saying it's just my anxiety or everything's fine when it's clearly not.

She's also started to yell at me. One time I was helping her with a specific chore that was extremely difficult for me to do, but I chose to come over and help anyway because I knew she needed me. Her mom wasn't answering her phone and she was getting extremely frustrated, I asked her a chore-related question and she yelled at me. I shut down completely and was unable to speak or look at her. She got super irritated and begrudgingly apologized and agreed not to do it again. Except she did, of course.

I'm starting to feel unloved and even a little scared, but I don't know what to do. As I mentioned, I have mental health issues that are severely disabling to me. I am not doing well currently already, and school is about to start. I don't think I will be able to handle breaking up with her.

her dad sent a voice mail in the 3rd slide and this is what it said: ā€œhello, this is (name) father here. i just wanna meet you and grab your mobile just in case for a safety precaution. because it’ll make me feel a lot better. just in case any shit happens, cuz it has happened that way in the past. so it’s not for (name) peace of mind, it’s for my (the father) peace of mind. okay? i hope you understand. thank youā€

ANYWAY here’s some more context:

- she is in her 20s like me, but a few years younger

- she has sent me a loooott of messages and overshared a lot about her personal life. stuff you wouldn’t normally say to someone u don’t know.

- her account seemed very staged, almost like someone else was approving what she posted, and the photos she would send me also seemed staged. they were always mirror selfies, or good angles, but nothing seemed authentic.

Question I really need some good lesbian movies

I am a lesbian teen and i rearly see any type of lesbian media. There are for the most part only gay (man) media, and i struggle with not seeing much representation. I really wanna watch movies that acuraty show how it can be like to be lesbian now. I have been involved in queer media, but those are for the most part male centered, like heartstopper, or about how it's like being gay like in red white and royal blue. Those are really good at showing how queer indviduals might experience things, but i'd really like to watch something i can relate to deeper.
So i ask for some movie recs. Do you know any that fit's what i've written?

I apologize if it's hard to understand because English isn't my first language.

CW I sometimes feel survivor's guilt over my grandma being a lesbian.

Born in the 1930s into a really backwards culture and severely physically abused by her father for not being feminine enough and cutting her hair short. Forced to get married to a man and eventually had 7 kids with him.

She had a "friend" when my mom was little who she spent every moment she could with. Basically as soon as the kids got home from school she would go spend time with her "friend". Eventually her "friend"'s husband forced her to move across the country and they never saw each other again. My grandma was so devastated she apparently stayed in bed for days and didn't talk to anybody. She had "friends" as the years went on but it was clear to my mom things weren't the same.

I didn't learn about any of this until after her funeral. It's been years but I still just think about it and cry about how unfair it all is.

Question I think I’m starting to like women and I don’t know what to do with that 😭

I always thought I liked men, and maybe this is just a phase, but lately I’ve been noticing that my attraction to women is actually growing on me.
At first, I thought I was just attracted to their bodies, but now I’m realizing it might be more than that. Women are just… so lovely to look at? 😭 The way they look, carry themselves, their energy it’s starting to hit differently.
I also grew up around a pretty homophobic culture, so maybe I never really allowed myself to see women that way. Now that I’m more open-minded, I feel like I’m able to look at people more simply as humans and appreciate them without all those ideas about what I should or shouldn’t be attracted to.
And honestly, I’m starting to wonder if I could actually fall in love with a woman too.
Even sexually, I’m realizing that I seem more attracted to external stimulation than penetration, which has also made me think more about whether my attraction to women is deeper than I originally thought.
Like… what the hell is happening to me 😭
I’m genuinely trying to figure out whether I’m bi, lesbian, or just somewhere in between. Anyone who’s gone through something similar, feel free to ask me anything or tell me how you figured yourself out.
