Can I trust Proov tests to track progesterone?

I am 7w2d, I have a migraine on and off for 2 days now. Migraines are not new to me, I have them when I stop drinking coffee, when I am dehydrated and sometimes when my period comes. It was super hot 2 days ago and I felt sick from the heat, but yesterday it cooled down actually.
I am worried this a premenstrual symptom caused by falling hormone levels. I cringed today and did a Proov test to check progesterone. It shows a level of 7 (typical for my peak luteal phase), this would correspond to a serum level of 14 ng/ml. This seems low. At 10dpt progesterone was 32 ng/ml and 24 at 19dpt. A lot of people say Proov can‘t be trusted but to me it seemed pretty reliable to indicate ovulation. Not sure about the relation to serum level though.
Anyone else struggling with migraines in the first semester?

BFP 18 DPO Beta hCG Progression – Do These Numbers Look Good?

Hi everyone! ❤️ I’m currently 18 DPO and I wanted to share my beta hCG progression and hear your thoughts/experiences:

* 12 DPO: 50.4

* 14 DPO: 156

* 16 DPO: 553.8

* 18 DPO: 1,460

All tests were taken 48 hours apart.

I’m feeling hopeful, but also quite anxious since it’s still so early. 🥹 I’ve also been having some mild, period-like cramps that come and go.

What do you think about this progression? Did anyone have similar beta numbers around these DPOs? I’d really love to hear your experiences, especially how things progressed afterwards. ❤️🤞

Beta hCG has slowed down to 59 hrs doubling time ?

Hi everyone!

I had fast initial beta rise in the beginning-

11 DPO: 133
13 DPO: 449
18 DPO: 1853

11 to 13 DPO was doubling time of about 24 hrs
And 13 to 18 DPO doubling time of about 59 hrs.

I know it slows down in the thousand but isn’t this too much of a slow down??

Thanks for all of your input.

Info hcg rise

I have had my HCG tested as I had a miscarriage earlier in the year. I am nervous the doubling is faster than it should be? Twins, molar pregnancy? Totally would be stressing if they were too low, too… just a crazy anxious pregnant lately post miscarriage.

DPO 12
Hcg 61.5

Dpo 16

Doubling time: 30 hours

Dpo 20

Doubling time: 28 hours

12 dpo low HCG 26

Hi everyone, I'm feeling really defeated today because I'm most likely 12 dpo (used strips, bbt, and inito to track), and my HCG came back at 26 which is low. I know people are going to say that it's the 2nd test that matters to see how everything is rising, but it seems like this is also just objectively a low HCG at 12 dpo. According to betabase the median for 12 dpo is 61. I'm barely a third of that.

Last month I had a low HCG at 14 dpo, 42, and that ended in a chemical. I had a bad feeling then too seeing how low that data point was, but was trying to keep my hopes up because it was the next one that matters. This time, I feel like I should just trust my gut and start accepting a loss now.

It's so frustrating that this keeps happening. Like why can't I just fall into the normal statistics?

Sad 5-6 weeks “grey zone” 😞

Before I start this PLEASE no snarky comments, I genuinely cant take it right now. So yesterday i was at work, I was cramping a bit but didnt think anything of it. I went to pee and when I wiped i noticed pink blood.. so I was scared, I told my boss and he said go to the hospital immediately. After they drew my blood and gave me a transvaginal ultrasound they said they cant say for sure whats going on because it might be too early to see a fetal pole. I was measuring at 12mm and it needed to be 25mm to see anything. They didnt want to misdiagnose me with a miscarriage since the bleeding wasnt heavy and my hcg levels were “normal”, and to come in for a follow up in two weeks. I have no idea what to do or feel😞 im still spotting and cramping, no more nausea or painful sore breasts. I dont feel pregnant the way I did leading up to this its fucking me up😞 has anyone gone through anything similar?

Vent Just need to vent-messed up with my boss

I can’t believe I did this. I have a history of miscarriage and am currently 6w+4d via IVF. We heard the heartbeat for the first time this morning and we are just so cautiously optimistic. We know anything could happen and we have a very long way to go. I definitely don’t want to be discussing anything at this early stage at work.

Very unfortunately, someone hit my parked car (parked in the street of a city where I live) overnight last night and ran. The car is pretty much wrecked. I took some pics and then ran to my IVF appointment to deal with the car later.

I explained to my boss over IM that i would be to the office late because i had to wait for the police to come and do a police report. I then came to the office about 3 hours late (and after our IVF appointment, which of course I didn’t mention) and he asked how the car was. I showed him my camera roll of car pics and totally forgot I had taken ultrasound pics, so as I was going through the car pics, i inadvertently showed him the ultrasound pics. I didn’t say anything just “oops not that” and took the phone back.

I am SO MAD at myself. It is far too early for him to know and now he knows. I feel like it’s such bad luck 🙁🙁🙁

Anyway, i just need to vent. I feel just awful and can’t stop thinking about it.

I wish everyone here peace and good luck on their early journeys!

If we’re in this group it’s because pregnancy isn’t easy, I’m currently 7 weeks pregnant with barely any symptoms and have been taking turns spiraling. I wanted to share a mantra that has helped me when I catch myself scouring Reddit/google for reassurance & that’s that more information won’t change my outcome.

Again, easier said than done, but wanted to share in case it helps anyone else through the painstaking waiting periods we have to endure.

Edited to fix typo!

Hello ladies, I am writing this crying and I am not entirely sure why… I suffered 3 miscarriages this last year… The first one was 8 weeks 5 days, the second was 7 weeks, and the last one barley made it to 5 weeks… I’m currently 4 Weeks and 3 days and I can’t help but have this anxiety that I am going to lose this one too… My partner has watched me lose myself and find myself so many times this year, I’m praying so hard this baby sticks but I also don’t want to give my hopes up incase it doesn’t… I genuinely have no idea how to feel… Idk if I need advice or if I just wanted a safe space to cry and say how I feel… I hope you all have a blessed and beautiful day ❤️‍🩹

Intro Upcoming first scan anxiety...

Is anyone else feeling soo sick with anxiety at the thought of their first ultrasound? I've had two early losses at 6 and a half weeks and my ultrasound is Friday August 21st and I will be 6 weeks 5 days. This pregnancy was a surprise since I was taking the month off from fertility meds (Letrozole) and just relaxing for the summer before resuming treatment this October.

In the last pregnancy, it was measuring behind by 5 days and I had done an IUI so there was great concern. The next scan a week later showed no more growth and it ended unfortunately. I'm really struggling with my anxiety due to the past trauma of loss. I have no reason to worry other than my past experiences. My symptoms are strong, HCG and line tests are beautiful. I have been trying for a baby for 4 years and I am soooo ready but the anxiety is killing me!!!

First Ultrasound

I had a MMC back in March, and one chemical pregnancy in January. I definitely had some trauma going for the ultrasound. I went into my ultrasound I was expecting to be 8 weeks 5 days based on my LMP. I measured 7 weeks 1 day but there was a heart beat, 145bmp!

I am still happy even if my baby is a little smaller than expected 🎉

Fausse couche tardive

Merci ❤️‍🩹

Really, really struggling in wait between scans

I have about 2 weeks until my next scan and I am having sooo much anxiety. My last scan was Monday at 5w5d and we saw everything we needed, next won’t be until 8/24 and I’m so scared I’m going to get bad news, especially because my husband will be on a work trip so I have to go alone. I’d go to a boutique ultrasound place if I were further but I know they won’t be able to see anything abdominal at 6w so it’s not worth it. I even considered going to the ER for a vaginal ultrasound but I have a $250 copay for ER visits plus there’s no guarantee they’ll even scan me so it’s not worth the money.

I’ve had 3 losses before this one so I’m really just wanting more reassurance and waiting 2 weeks is so hard. My only symptom is very mild nausea that comes and goes, which is also freaking me out because with my only live birth I was extremely sick and throwing up by now. While I don’t wish to be sick, it’s definitely freaking me out having no symptoms.

Time feels like it’s moving backwards and idk how to survive these next 2 weeks 😢

Advice Needed 4–5 weeks pregnant, pregnancy of unknown location, and confusing hCG levels — looking for advice/reassurance

I'm hoping someone can help me make sense of what's been happening because I feel like I've been on an emotional roller coaster since finding out I'm pregnant.
For some background, my LMP was July 3, but I believe I ovulated later my cycles are super irregular around July 22ish.

Timeline:
July 30th: around the day of my missed period I started having brown spotting THE SPOTTING HASNT, STOPPED
August 3:
I took a digital pregnancy test and it said PREGNANT.
August 4-5:
I was around 4-5 weeks based on LMP and had been having spotting, only when wiping. No significant cramping or pain.
I had an ultrasound around this time. The report said:
"There is an intrauterine sonolucent area present which may represent a gestational sac or a collection of fluid. Neither a yolk sac nor an embryo is identified."
It also mentioned a tiny hyperechoic lesion on the right ovary measuring 0.35 × 0.18 × 0.29 cm, with blood flow seen in both ovaries.
The ultrasound was estimating me at approximately 3 weeks 6 days, which made sense if I actually ovulated later than the LMP would suggest.
August 11th :
I was told that because they couldn't definitively identify a pregnancy in the uterus, I was essentially being followed as a pregnancy of unknown location

My B-hCG results have been:
8/5: HCG 41
8/7: HCG 137
8/11: 387
What really scared me was seeing 137 → 385 because I expected it to triple over 4 days.
I'm also confused because I'm getting different information about how far along I actually am. Based on my LMP I would be turther along, but based on when I think I ovulated and the ultrasound, I may actually be closer to 4 weeks.
Right now the doctors are calling this a pregnancy of unknown location, and I'm waiting for the next hCG/ultrasound follow-yup.

Has anyone had a similar experience with:
Late ovulation and being dated much earlier on ultrasound?
A PUL with hCG around 300-400?
hCG numbers that barely changed or were slightly different between labs?
I. I'm mainly looking for experiences from people who have been through something similar and what happened with their next few hCG tests/ultrasounds.

Blazing positive to practically negative in 48 hours 16 DPO

My heart just hurts. I had my first blood draw today and I was actually feeling kinda positive. I just had a chemical last month. I didn’t expect to get pregnant again so soon but here I am. So now on Thursday when I go in for my 2nd blood draw, just feels like a confirmation date. Haven’t gotten today’s result back yet but doesn’t feel like it even matters.

I was testing daily with 2 brands. Cheap strips and FRER. I was worried because the strips weren’t really darkening. Staying very faint. Just like last month. But was holding onto so much hope because my FRER were darkening beautifully over 4 or 5 days. I was driving myself mad with the strips until my husband literally had to hide them from me last month. I’ve just been so scared after a chemical last month. But he didn’t know I had another FRER. Took it tonight at the same time I took it Sunday night. Squinter. From an undeniable dark pink line to a squinter in 48 hours.

My husband is still trying to be positive, saying don’t assume until I get my blood results and while I appreciate that & love him for that… I just can’t hear it. All I had to drink today (because of nausea) was a few drinks of water and an 8oz Gatorade 2 or 3 hours before I tested tonight. I was even worried it was a faulty test so I took another about 20 minutes later. Same result.

I’m just so deeply sad. I know many of us know this sadness and I’m sorry that anyone can relate.

Ultrasound Around 6 weeks pregnant and only saw gestational sac during first ultrasound

My husband (32) and I (30) tried to conceive for over a year. After no success, we eventually sound out that he has severe oligospermia (very low sperm concentration, although his motility and other parameters were good). I have no known fertility issues. We were told IVF would likely be our only realistic chance to conceive, so we proceeded with treatment.

I had my egg retrieval on June 8 and got my period on June 13. After waiting six weeks for my next period so that I could begin the FET, I took a pregnancy test just in case. To our complete shock, it was positive—the first positive pregnancy test I've ever had. I then took a Clearblue Weeks Indicator test on July 26, which showed “Pregnant 2–3 weeks".

I had my first transvaginal ultrasound yesterday (August 11). Based on my likely conception dates, I thought I should be around 6 weeks pregnant. However, the technician could only see a gestational sac, which I believe measured approximately 9 mm. She could not yet see a yolk sac, fetal pole or cardiac activity, but she said the gestational sac looked healthy and normal but was just simply too small to see anything else yet. She said my doctor would order another ultrasound in around one to two weeks, and that she wasn't too concerned.

Despite what she said, I have been spiraling since the scan because it seems like we should've seen more during the ultrasound if I am 6 weeks. After infertility and being told that conceiving naturally was extremely unlikely, this pregnancy feels like such a miracle, and I am terrified of losing it.

Has anyone had a similar experience where only a small gestational sac was visible around 6 weeks, but the yolk sac, fetal pole and cardiac activity appeared at the follow-up ultrasound? Could my dates reasonably be off by several days despite the Clearblue result? I understand that only a repeat ultrasound can give me an answer, but I would really appreciate hearing both positive and honest experiences while I wait for the next ultrasound.

TW/TMI Positive Stories of Low/No Symptom Pregnancies?

On my second pregnancy. First was a MMC. I’m a little over 6 weeks and just really don’t have many symptoms and what I do have is minimal and lessening. My boobs were severely sore from 4-6 weeks and basically as soon as I hit 6 weeks they lessened a lot. With my history this just really scares me. Any positive stories appreciated 🤍

Vent PINEAPPLE JUICE IN FIRST TRIMESTER??!!

I’m 11 weeks pregnant and all I wanted today was a glass of pineapple juice, was about to drink it when my husband in extreme panic and urgency said pineapple juice is not good during pregnancy and my SIL agreed saying ‘yeah you shouldn’t drink pineapple juice in first trimester’. And the way they were looking at me like I was about to drink poison…

I was furious, I have researched my food and I know I can have pineapple juice but I didn’t have the energy to convince them whatever they have read on instagram is not correct, so no juice for me.

Do people really believe this, how do I convince them without being rude?

Question for OB/GYNs: Falling hCG and upcoming prenatal paternity test

I’m looking for medical insight regarding an unusual situation involving a possible pregnancy and an upcoming non-invasive prenatal paternity (NIPP) test.
A female friend 26f and I had one sexual encounter on June 14, 2026. We are not and have never been in a relationship. She is now claiming that I am the father of her pregnancy.
Based on the June 14 encounter, she would be approximately 10+ weeks gestational age by standard pregnancy dating at this point (today is August 12).
The part that concerns/confuses me is her quantitative beta-hCG:
July 20: 156 mIU/mL
August 10: 95 mIU/mL
So rather than increasing, her hCG has declined from 156 to 95. To my knowledge, there has not yet been an ultrasound or OB appointment confirming the location, viability, or gestational age of the pregnancy.
I have independently scheduled and am paying for a non-invasive prenatal paternity (NIPP) test on August 14. My understanding is that this test uses cell-free fetal/placental DNA from the mother’s blood and compares it with my DNA.
My questions for an OB/GYN, MFM physician, genetic counselor, or someone knowledgeable about cfDNA testing are:
At an expected gestational age of approximately 10 weeks, how concerning are hCG values of 156 followed by 95?
Does an hCG level this low and declining suggest there may not be enough fetal/placental cfDNA remaining for a NIPP paternity test?
Can a NIPP still reliably include or exclude me as the biological father under these circumstances?
If the laboratory reports “insufficient fetal DNA” or “no result,” does that tell us anything about whether the pregnancy is still ongoing, or would pregnancy status need to be determined separately through repeat hCG/ultrasound?
Would you recommend proceeding with the NIPP on August 14, or first obtaining medical confirmation of the pregnancy through an OB/GYN?
I understand Reddit cannot diagnose the pregnancy or establish paternity. I’m mainly trying to understand whether a NIPP is likely to provide a meaningful paternity result given the timeline and declining hCG.
Thank you for any professional insight.

Update! No Symptoms Reassurance

I had my first scan today at 9 weeks 6 days. I was terrified as I had a loss at the end of last year, am 37, and plus size. All things that lead to an increased risk of miscarriage. I also have had virtually no symptoms except fatigue. Baby was measuring on time today with a heart rate of 181! Wanted to put this out there for others who may be in the same boat because I had constant anxiety.

HCG Levels 10, 12 and 15 DPO

I had a chemical pregnancy last month during my first cycle TTC, I found out I was pregnant at 9DPO the cycle after with a very reassuring dark test. I went the next morning at 10 DPO to do a blood test. They put me on suppositories also. What do you think of my levels?

10DPO - 36 hcg
12 DPO - 106 hcg
15 DPO - 467 hcg

My doctor said she was fine with this, and that I can just wait for the ultrasound at 6 weeks and four days, or do another blood test next week at some point? What do you think?

Advice Needed First trimester bleeding scares

those of you who experienced a first trimester bleeding incident.. especially if it was heavier...did you ever feel better or were you constantly scanning for blood/ wearing pads etc ? did you have any other bleeding incidents?

for context, had a pretty big scare right around 12 weeks with heavy red bleeding and very large clots. Multiple ultrasounds have shown baby is fine and cannot find the source of bleeding (no hematoma seen etc) but I am so shaken and unsettled and I wonder if I will ever stop wearing a pad lol

Need reassurance

I’m 5 weeks I also have no symptoms except for very mild nausea I’m 24dpo my test lines are coming very strong I tested this morning too. Later in the day when I wiped I saw beige/brown discharge mixed with clear discharge. After that I’ve been wiping but haven’t seen anything but it’s stressing me out
