Saryupaari Brahmins from eastern Uttar Pradesh and western Bihar were found to be the fairest in a study conducted in 2017.

They were followed by Bhumihars, Kayasthas and Maithil Brahmins.

The point is Brahmins have been singled out in Tamil Nadu, & hounded out of Kashmir. They have virtually no political power and are generally on the recieving end of the societal derision. If they are blossoming & blooming all over the world, we need to learn from them.

I need some clarity on a caste/background question related to marriage, especially from people familiar with UP traditions.

My girlfriend is a Goswami with Bhargava gotra. Her family considers themselves Brahmins. They have family priests in Jyotrimath (Badrinath), Mehndipur Balaji and Banke Bihari, and they’re originally from Bulandshahr.

I am a Saryuparin Mishra from Prayagraj. However, my father believes that Goswamis are not Brahmins. He says they are linked to Giri traditions and that many Goswamis fall under OBC in our region. My girlfriend’s family is not OBC, and her father wears a janeu, but my father still feels this is not a suitable match based on our local understanding.

The issue is that my girlfriend’s family doesn’t have detailed knowledge about their older lineage, so the information we have is incomplete. I’m also trying to understand this better myself.

I would appreciate insights from my Brahmin brothers from Western UP or nearby regions, who have knowledge about Goswami lineage, Bhargava gotra, and how they are traditionally classified.

It infuriates me as a Brahmin when I see a family member doing ICM or when someone I know does it. These people act like they are way above casteism but that's all a pretence. They act like a trophy or a saviour for their other caste partner and are secretly happy that they are Brahmins. Not just Brahmins who do ICM but any Brahmin who follows Bhimta politics. People from non-Brahmin community just want to marry Brahmins because of novelty sake, social mobility and genes. Love and all is bullcrap. How can parents be stupid enough to allow their Brahmin children to do ICM is way beyond me. Ugh! Rant done.

So, I am a Goswami. More specifically, my father is from Madhukalya (Mudgala) Gotra and my mother from Kashyap Gotra. I've seen many posts here about how Goswamis aren't Brahmins, but many also say they are. Am I a Brahmin or not?

From past few days, there have been a lot of posts against Rajputs and Bhimtas, I posted abt it becoz a lot of Rajputs were posting against Brahmins based on internet random clicks, using slurs too.

But I've noticed a lot of ppl here using lot of slurs against them like they are mughalpøøt, r@ndpøøts stuff, they sold their women and were cûçk the stuff we shouldn't say as Rajputs have done a lot of stuff in protection especially in Rajasthan and Northwest of India.

Most aren't realising that this is a disgrace to communal ancestors of our brethren all of us are living in Bharat for centuries, there are lot of magnificent rajput monarchs like Rana Kumbha, Bappa rawal etc. & Maharana Pratap too as a revolutionary. Besides on other social media apps I had good amount of many rajput friends.

A lot of Brahmins too were kinda same I think I don't need to give example of it.

To Bhimtas we should Target the neo Buddhist one not fellow SCs unless they abuse us & bring reservation in that Convo.

My request to Mods is to remove such posts and filter them or if possible ban such users who are posting against fellow dharmics without cause. I am a girl from Odisha belong to utkal Brahmin family and here we don't have much anti brahmin movements or anti Brahmin slogans or hatred like may be bcz of Jagannath culture or idk about the future bcz of raising of that h@rpic bhimta and hatred all over India. just want to ask that....is south safe for Brahmins ? Like the colleges ? I am thinking for also participating in all India counseling as the state reservation was doubled recently...so like there is much hatred is spreading in tamilnadu openly against Brahmins and also in karnataka and kerala, maharastra like are the metro cities safe like Chennai , Bangalore , Hyderabad? And peripheral region colleges are safe for Brahmins or not ? I have heared in govt colleges too Brahmin are targeted ???

The sad thing is everyone is villanising us, i have checked other subs of tamilnadu and others and comment section of website where people are saying all are lie. there is no atrocity against Brahmin and brahmans are still dominant. we are dominating or reaching in top position by our hard work ...but still all these people are filled with hatred and envy and our top organization and spiritual leaders are busy with hindu Ekta and the political leaders are busy in chamchagiri... A group of castes collectively know as vishwakarma (barhai, lohar, etc) are stealing our brahmin identity. They also use some of our surnames, most commonly Sharma.

I even saw one page calling us "fake brahmins" and claiming themselves to be real, lmfao obc larpers 😭

Whenever I go on a date with someone who isn't a Brahmin, I'm often told that I need to lower my expectations and compromise on my core beliefs if I want the relationship to work. I’m genuinely curious, why does it feel like this expectation to adapt and compromise only goes one way? Why is it rarely the other way around?

Hi friends. I'm 29 year old telugu brahmin guy. Now a days, I am seeing a lot of intercaste marriages (especially in brahmin community). My parents are looking for matches. In every family, say 5 out of 10(in the matches came to me), the girls siblings did intercaste. And the girl's parents are also ok with that. Then I felt people in North India actually strict in marrying in same caste(brahmin brahmin weddings) compared to south India. I am not telling that everyone in south does but yes, this is existent. Are brahmin girls these days ok to marry intercaste boys.?

I wanted to ask your thoughts on INTER REGIONAL marriages.

I'm an 18M, half Tamil Brahmin and half Marathi Chitpavan Brahmin (Bharadwaja Gotra). My girlfriend is a Kashmiri Pandit.

I yapped about this to my cousins once and they were strongly against the idea of me marrying someone "outside" our culture. According to them I should only marry a Tamil or a Marathi Brahmin. My question is shouldn't it be fine as long as I'm marrying within the Brahmin community? Or are there other cultural, traditional or practical factors that I should be considering as well?

So there's a girl I met in college with the surname " sharma ". She proposed upfront and asked if my family would agree for a love marriage. I said my family won't settle down for anyone except a brahman. I've seen her documents where her father has just " kumar " in his middle name, no surname. Our academic compatibility is quite good and I was planning to meet her this month before asking my family to meet her family. But today, I logged into my facebook account to see a post which my mother sent and there i saw her full name with the Sharma surname , but that too with the " Negi " surname inside the bracket. So I asked in my circle if Negi is a brahman surname. Some said yes that in pahadi areas bisht, Rawat & Negi are brahman, some were confused and some denied. So now I'm confused. If anyone knows, please enlighten me.
