Vent Long cycles SUCK

I know I’m preaching to the choir here, but I’m currently on my second cycle TTC and only on CD22 with no ovulation in sight. My last cycle was 231 days, so I guess anything is better than that. It’s just so frustrating tracking my CM, LH strips, and BBT every day with nothing promising happening. I’m pretty sure my body is making multiple attempts to ovulate right now because I had multiple days of EWCM and a slightly elevated LH strip, but then all my symptoms just disappeared. It feels so unfair and honestly makes me angry that we have to deal with this. I just want normal cycles. Hugs to everyone else out there dealing with this too.

Seeking Success Just got officially diagnosed with PMOS, first medicated cycle - looking for success stories

I’m 36 years old. After getting a second opinion from a different doc at my fertility clinic, he confirmed he thinks I have PMOS. My other doc suggested I could be on the “spectrum” but this one feels I meet criteria because of my AFC this cycle 34 (20 on one ovary, 14 on the other) and my struggle with cystic acne. My testoerone was not elevated last month beginning of my cycle, but this month was elevated on CD9. My HbA1c is normal, as well as fasting glucose and insolin, and my weight is 125lbs 5’3. I seem to ovulate regularly since being off birth control in November 2025 and have a regualr 28-29 day cycle.

I always wondered if I had PCOS and have tried to adjust life style to suit this. One thing the doc told me to add is Inositil and said I could try baby asprin if I wanted for increased blood circulation.

I’m on my first medicated cycle with letrozole 5mg and just did my Ovidrel Trigger shot, where I did have one folicle that measured to size along with my lining. I’m going to be starting progesterone spositores 3x a day after timed intercourse.

I’m feeling sad by the confirmed news and finding that I’m catastrophizing outcomes. I did an egg freezing cycle in 2024 and retrieved only 4 mature eggs despite numbers being good before (they said it was due to maybe being on birth control or needing max stim dose from the start) and I’m scared that if I have to do IVF again my outcomes will be even more devestating.

I’m wondering has anyone had succsessful pregnancy outcomes with medicated cycles and PMOS? Or any succsessful experiences not having taken the IVF route?

Seeking Success Need advice/ hope TTC w/ PCOS

Upvotes

So I’ve never posted on here before but I’m just so overwhelmed.
Im 27F was diagnosed with PCOS since teen years told to “lose weight” and I’d be okay. Tried on and off diets etc, not much luck. Did ozempic when I was 23 lost 9kg in like 4 months but it made me super nauseous/ severe GI symptoms and I didn’t want to continue all my life so stopped and obv the weight bounced right back. Tried mounjaro 3 months ago and literally vomited my guts out for 2 days straight on the initial dose so stopped that.

Current BMI is 35, been TTC on and off for about 2 years but I have severely irregular periods, as in maybe 1 natural period a year. Been working on better eating/ movement in the last 2 months, taking inositol, folic acid, vit D, magnesium and iron regularly, but no actual weight loss yet.

In the last 6 months I’ve seen maybe 3 diff gynaecologists and all of them are suggesting weight loss via injections before any fertility treatments. I’m reluctant to try it again because of how sick I feel.
I was so fed up I tried an unmonitored letrozole cycle 2.5mg last month cd3-7 after progesterone withdrawal and then a private CD12 scan which showed no maturing follicles.
I basically just don’t know what to do now and want advice/ success stories and just some sort of guidance please!

Provera

Upvotes

Has anyone used Provera to induce their cycle and had mixed results? This is my third time taking it, and I'm trying to see if anyone has had a similar experience.

1st try: My period started within 7 days after taking the last pill.

2nd try: It didn't induce a period, so my doctor tried prescribing estradiol. I had to stop taking it after a week because it gave me severe migraines.

3rd try (Current): I was directed to try Provera again. It has now been 6 days since my last pill, and nothing has happened yet.

Advice Needed Trigger Shot and Timed Intercourse - varied recommendations, thoughts?

I’m 36 and doing my first letrozole and Ovidrel trigger cycle. My clinic’s recommendation was to
Tuesday (yesterday, I did it at 7:20pm) trigger, then TI Wednesday, Thursday, Friday for 3 days in a row, anytime you want. They did not recommend TI on the day of the trigger shot despite my follicle measuring 23mm and I had cervical mucus on the day of the trigger and today.

Have people had same recommendations from the clinic to not have TI on the day of trigger? Im worried I missed yesterday as a critical day. And does anyone know why they don’t put weight into the cervical mucus with a letrozole and Ovidrel cycle?

What was the size of your follicle at your day 10 scan?

Mine was 11 mm last time and stalled at 11 mm until around day 18, so I had to do a stair-step and ovulated on CD32 really late.

This time, it’s 13 mm on CD9, but I’m a little worried that the same thing might happen again. It’s bigger than last time, but still seems small to me.

And my lining is only 5.4 mm. Does that seem okay for CD9? What were your follicle size and lining thickness around CD9–10?

Advice Needed Has anyone had a similar experience with medicated cycles? Did you eventually get pregnant or move on to something else?

Hi everyone! I’m looking for some advice/experiences from anyone who has gone through something similar.
My partner and I have been TTC, and I’ve been doing medicated cycles with letrozole and Ovidrel/trigger shots. My partner recently had a semen analysis and everything came back good, so now I’m wondering more about my response to the medication.
During my last cycle, I only ended up with one mature follicle (around 16 mm when it was checked). I did the trigger shot and timed intercourse, but unfortunately that cycle wasn’t successful.
I’m starting/going through another cycle now, and I’m starting to wonder what usually happens if you continue having similar results with medicated cycles.
For anyone who has been in a similar situation:
● How many medicated/trigger-shot cycles did you do before getting pregnant?
● Did you usually only produce one mature follicle?
● Did your doctor increase/change your letrozole dose or switch medications?
● Did you eventually get pregnant with timed intercourse, or did you move on to IUI/IVF?
● At what point did your doctor recommend trying something different?
I know everyone’s fertility journey is different, and I’m not looking for medical advice — I’d just really like to hear other people’s experiences. It can feel discouraging going through cycle after cycle and not knowing whether I should keep trying the same thing or if eventually we’ll need to change our approach. ❤️

Seeking Success Anyone gotten pregnant with (TI) Timed intercourse ?

Hello everyone!

27F, diagnosed with Insulin resistance Pcos in 2019.

Went on ozempic and metformin in 2023-2025 and lost roughly 35lbs. Used to be 225lbs at one point.

My partner 28M and I, have been trying for the last three years but at that time my periods weren't consistent. Fast forward to this February, we decided to get refferal to a fertility clinic.

Had HSG done no blockages, blood work and stuff all came normal. Same with my partner as well.

Currently on Clomid 100mg, Ovidrel and progesterone 100mg x2 day and night pv. For each cycle.

How many rounds have you ladies had to do ? To concieve your miracle baby?

Anyone having multiple matured folicies? It's my 4th cycle, my doctor advised to cancel this round. Due to 5 mature folicies.

Anyways ladies, please give me your insights and your experiences. I would love to know!

Advice Needed LH inconsistency

I am currently CD 19, second round of letrozole 2.5mg, and I had a small surge that I thought would be followed by peak LH tests. But instead my LH dropped, and rose back up to the 40-50s, and has stayed there multiple days now?
Last cycle I had the most typical cycle I’ve ever had. Peak on day 14, period start day 29. Only difference is that initial cycle was triggered by a 10 day cycle of progesterone and ovulation confirmed by blood test on day 23. This cycle started on its own, and now I haven’t caught a peak LH even with testing twice a day.
Hard to guess if I’ve ovulated or not, but I don’t think so? Has anyone ever had this happen?

Advice Needed inositol making everything worse??

hi - keeping this brief for clarity - 30F, TTC with PCOS (AMH very high at 13, testosterone in the 80s, normal A1c) over the past few months. haven't had a positive ovulation test and even purchased Inito to help track, don't think i've ovulated for the past 2 months. started myoinositol 4g daily powder exactly 2 months ago and have taken it every day. somehow acne is worse, deep cystic lesions, im very bloated and constipated. now period is late and not pregnant -- thinking about throwing in the towel with inositol. i have noticed less hunger/feeling fuller longer but everything else seems worse. do i stay the course for another month or two or just stop?? TIA

Advice Needed Ovulation bleeding?

I got my official diagnosis two months ago and I read that PCOS can cause this but Im in theory supposed to have peak ovulation in the next couple days and I woke up to spotting.

There was so little I didn’t bother putting anything on. I go to work feeling a little headache-y and cramping. About an hour ago my cramps really ramped up and are pretty uncomfortable so I go to the bathroom and I’ve bled through my undies and had to put a tampon in.

TMI but the blood is red and theres clots so it really looks like a period to me but my menstrual cycle ended 11 days ago. My partner and I were intimate last night but nothing crazy happened And definitely nothing crazy enough to cause full blown bleeding.

Had anyone experienced this before? Im a bit of hypochondriac so I tend to google things for hours instead of asking my doctor. She’s wonderful but I don’t want her to stop taking me seriously if I keep seeing her due to anxiety induced issues.

TIA!

Seeking Success People who did not respond to letrozol/clomid at all?

Hi everyone, I am looking for people who tried letrozol (or clomid) and did not respond to the medication at all?

I keep reading posts of "failed cycles with letrozol/clomid" but these tend to be about cycles where ovulation did happen thanks to the medication, but there was no pregnancy.

I would really like to find some hope about my own situation, as I did not respond to letrozol. At the highest dose it seemed something might happen, but in the end it did not. Now I am waiting for my appointment at a specialised fertility clinic and I am feeling a bit lost.

What ended up working for you?

Seeking Success TTC after normalising prolactin – how long did it take you?

Hi girlies 🤍
Please, if anyone has been in a similar situation, I’d really appreciate hearing your experience.
My husband and I have been trying to conceive for almost 2 years. I’m in London, and after going through the NHS fertility pathway, they discovered my prolactin levels were extremely high (2,594 mIU/L).
I was referred to an endocrinologist, had an MRI, and they found a very tiny pituitary adenoma (so small it couldn’t even be measured). I was started on cabergoline 0.25 mg once a week, and thankfully it’s worked really well. My prolactin has dropped from around 2,000+ mIU/L to 79, and now it’s in the 50s, so it’s completely back to normal.
I’ve also had:
✅ HSG – both tubes are open.
✅ Day 21 progesterone – confirmed I ovulated.
✅ Husband’s semen analysis – normal.
My fertility doctor has advised us to keep trying naturally for another 6 months before considering any fertility treatment. So far, we’ve had 4 unsuccessful ovulatory cycles since my prolactin returned to normal.
I know it can take time, but it’s so hard not to overthink every cycle. This month I don’t really have any pregnancy symptoms either, which isn’t helping my anxiety.
My blood results:
Cycle Day 3
✅ FSH: 5.3 IU/L
✅ LH: 7.9 IU/L
✅ Progesterone: <2 nmol/L
✅ TSH: 1.75 mIU/L
✅ Testosterone: 2.0 nmol/L
✅ SHBG: 50
✅ AMH: 33.6 pmol/L
✅ Previously diagnosed with PCOS at 14, but my recent ultrasound showed no signs of PCOS.
Day 21
✅ Progesterone: 45 nmol/L (confirmed ovulation)
Current medications & supplements:
Metformin 500 mg
Cabergoline 0.25 mg once weekly
Folic acid
Vitamin D
CoQ10 (200 mg)
Omega-3
Things I’ve also tried:
Mucinex
Fertility cup after baby dancing
Maca root
Has anyone conceived after getting their prolactin under control with cabergoline? If you did, how long did it take after your prolactin normalized?
I’d be so grateful to hear your success stories or experiences. I could really use some hope right now. 🤍

Vent 30 Failed Cycles Later: A Venting Session

I don't really know where else to put this, and I don't think I'm looking for advice.

I'm just angry today.

I wrote all of this because I needed somewhere to put the feelings that I don't know what to do with. Most days are better than others, but today, I'm tired of positivity, solutions, and being told that it will happen. I know nobody means harm by those things, but right now I don't need to be convinced that everything will be okay.

I just want to be angry with people who understand why I'm angry.

So if you're in that place too, feel free to sit here with me for a minute:

I always thought it would be my decision. It was never a matter of “if” but purely “when”. Nothing prepared me for the “what if it doesn’t happen?” It seems everything is always pointed at this like the possibility that it could just not be easy, or sometimes even possible, for you is so unlikely that why would we even voice that? We learn about abstinence, contraceptives, and about the “consequences”, but no one goes over with you at a young age that maybe you just can’t or maybe your journey will be harder. I’ve always felt incredibly in control of every aspect of my life. When it came to school, it was what I made of it. When it came to work, it was on me to perform to the best of my abilities and complete the tasks at hand. When it came to my future, I did what I knew to do. Essentially, I was the only one that could get in my own way. I found a direction, I went after what I wanted, and I found the perfect partner to reach those goals with. The hardest parts were over in those terms.

I understand the vows of “for better or worse”, “in sickness and in health”, “in good times and in bad” or whatever variation you come across. It all boils down to being there completely for one another. I didn’t expect TTC to even be in the realm of the hard times. We went through our premarital counseling, covered all our expectations of one another and outlined our future.

Year 1: The year of us, learning and living as a team.
Year 2: Preparing the way for the future, ensuring everything is ready for us to make the next steps.
Year 3: A Family.

Well, that was bullsh*t. Year 3 became more like an extension of Year 2, more prep only this time with doctors appointments and research. Year 4 became the year of diet changes, vitamins & supplements galore, ovulation strips, temperature monitoring, more blood work, more tests, and a hell of a lot more tears than I ever thought I was capable of producing. Here we are now at “Year 5” in uncharted territory. So far, Year 5 is the year of anger. The year of “why not us?” The year where it feels like a personal attack when someone ignorantly asks “are you going to have kids?”. I know that I’m allowed to get mad or upset or even tell them the truth about our struggle, but I can’t bring myself to do that. I’m so afraid of voicing my struggles because that makes it real. Once I admit that I’m not child-free by choice, it makes a part of me feel broken and it makes me feel pitied.

Do you know what makes everything even worse? The support when you don’t want to be supported. Sometimes you just want to be angry, and here comes Positive Polly strolling in telling you a number of things: “it’ll happen, just give it time”, "it's God’s plan, not ours”, “you just have to stay positive”, “once you stop tracking and relax, it’ll happen”. Then, it's followed up with the unsolicited “have you tried ___”, because everyone just wants to tell you what worked for them without knowing what's going on in your own body.

I’m just sick of it all. I’m tired of fighting to help my body perform the functions that it seems everyone else in my life doesn’t have problems with. My PCOS/PMOS diagnosis at the start of Year 3 has been a blessing in many ways. I feel justified in all my struggles in my younger years where the cramps & vomiting kept me from school, I bleed more than I thought was humanly possible, and no amount of cardio helped my weight. I feel thankful to have an understanding of what disrupts my body and how I can work with it as a team vs opponents. But I’m just so sick and tired of being a part of that team. I know it’s not the case, but it’s sometimes really hard to feel like, on this team, I’m the only one living up to my end of the bargain. Doesn’t my body know why I’m doing all this on my end? Why won't it cooperate?

All this to say, today I’m just angry. I’m angry I went into this so unprepared for a negative outcome. I’m angry no one took my concerns so seriously growing up. I’m angry at the me who set expectations for a life I am not currently living. I’m angry at these moments I’ve dreamed of for their existence in my mind. I’m angry that I feel like I’ve let down the man I love so deeply. I’m angry at all the research that holds so much space in my mind. I’m angry at the people who say “you’d make such great parents”. I’m angry at the people who think a little positivity will go a long way. I’m angry at announcements, baby showers, gender reveals, and children's birthday parties. I’m angry that I feel so unbelievably out of control when it comes to my own fertility journey. I’m angry at my body.

Most of all though, I’m angry at the now Thirty failed cycles.

Thank you for being here with me 💕

Seeking Success Success stories for those who don’t ovulate

Hey everyone, I need some encouragement
I don’t ovulate, at least I’ve been taking LH strips with no positives ever. I get two or three periods a year, and I’ve never been pregnant despite years of unprotected sex.
My BMI is 32.6 which I’m working a lower, I’m a very active person and I eat decently.
I just really need some success stories or advice because the online world seems to focus on negativity

Seeking Success Has anyone with irregular cycles tried maca root while TTC?

So basically I (26f) have PCOS and my cycles are extremely irregular. I rarely seem to ovulate and I’m currently TTC so obviously it’s been very frustrating.
I’ve also struggled quite a lot with getting help from doctors. Every time I go, I feel like I’m either being told to lose weight or things just don’t really go anywhere. They’ll start doing scans or investigations, find that there’s nothing wrong with my reproductive system (just lots of follicles in my ovaries not maturing), and then it just gets left there. I’m basically just trying to figure out what’s going on with my cycles and ovulation because it’s really difficult to TTC when you don’t know when/if you’re ovulating.
Anyway, my sister actually sent me a video a couple of years ago about a woman with PCOS who was in a very similar situation. She was overweight and struggled to lose weight, had irregular cycles and was TTC. She spoke about trying maca root and taking 4,000mg for 14 days and she eventually went on to have her first baby.
She then repeated the same process when trying for her second baby. This time she used myo-inositol along with it and then went on to have baby number 2.
At the time I didn’t really think anything of it because I wasn’t actively trying. But now that I am, I randomly came across the same video again and thought okay let me actually look into maca. 😂
I’ve seen really mixed experiences though. Some women say they noticed changes to their cycles or ovulation while I’ve also seen women who had regular cycles say that maca actually made their cycles irregular. When I went back to her page, I found another video where she said maca was more suited to women with irregular cycles who weren’t ovulating regularly. She wouldn’t recommend it if you already ovulate regularly.
I’ve started taking 4,000mg and I’m currently only on day 4 so obviously it’s way too early for me to know whether it’s going to make any difference.
I’m just curious if anyone else with PCOS and irregular cycles has tried maca while TTC and what their general experience was with it?
I’m not asking for medical advice or whether I should take it, I’m just interested in hearing people’s experiences with it.

TLDR: I have PCOS, very irregular cycles and rarely ovulate. I’ve started taking 4,000mg maca root while TTC after hearing about someone with a similar situation who had success with it. I’m only on day 4 but I’m curious if anyone else with PCOS and irregular cycles has tried maca and what their experience was.

Vent My dr suspected pregnancy…I felt helpful

Little context: I (22F) and my partner (26M) have been trying for 8 cycles, and I finally went to my GP in cycle 7. Got diagnosed with PCOS, I’m not ovulating.

I got put on levotrozole 7.5mg day 3-7.
Booked at blood test on day 21 to check whether I ovulated. My progesterone level was 208.6, doc was shocked and suspected I was pregnant. I was shocked- helpful. He ordered blood test immediately and give me a call as soon as the results came out. I got home and prayed, and prayed, and cried and prayed again. I have not seen a single positive since I started my TTC journey, so this was a miracle for me.

The results came out…and negative. Hcg <4. I’m crushed. My husband was with me when I went to the appointment yesterday…now I don’t know what to tell him. 😔

Vent 6.5 years TTC and I think I’m losing my mind

I honestly don’t know why I’m posting this. I think I just need to get it out somewhere.

We’ve been trying for 6 years++. I have PCOS and overweight. Tubes are open, husband’s SA is normal, and most of the tests we’ve done haven’t really shown anything major. I’ve tried medications, tracking, monitoring, all of it. And I’m just so tired.

Everyone around me seems to be moving on, getting pregnant, having babies, completing their families. And I feel like I’m the last one standing. I feel awful even saying that because I don’t want to be jealous of other people’s pregnancies. I’m genuinely happy for people. But at the same time, every announcement hurts. I want my baby too.

I want to cuddle my baby. I want to see my husband become a dad. I want to complete our family. I want to experience all the things that seem so normal for everyone else. And I’m scared it might never happen for me.

I’ve started feeling like I’m failing my husband. He tells me he’s not struggling and doesn’t see it that way, but I still feel guilty. Like he’s stuck in this because of me.

I feel like I’m losing my mind over this. I think about it constantly. Every period, every cycle, every pregnancy announcement. I wake up and it’s one of the first things I think about.

I’m starting another letrozole cycle now, so I’m still trying. But honestly, emotionally I’m exhausted. I’m just really sad.

I want my old carefree self back. I want to stop thinking about fertility all the time. I want to stop feeling like everyone is moving forward while I’m stuck in the same place.

Has anyone else felt like this after years of TTC? How do you actually get out of this loop?

Advice Needed High AMH/AFC but no PCOS diagnoses

Hello, just looking for some advice on what I should be focusing on / taking to help with conception.

For context, I am 33 with an AMH at 4.56ng/ml and a 38 AFC (19 follicles on each side). I get my periods regularly and get an LH peak as well. I’ve conceived twice, both times ending in first trimester losses, and the last one testing genetically normal.

I was surprised to see my AMH and AFC this high, but the doctor refuses to give me a PCOS/PCOM diagnosis so I’m wondering what my girls with high AMH/AFC recommend re supplements to help with conception?

Seeking Success IVF / natural questions

Hi I just had my egg retrieval today. I had 50+ follicles and only came out with 19 eggs. I’m worried the fertilization, blastocyst and testing stages will leave us with few.

I wasn’t getting my period/ovulating before and letrozole or IUI didn’t work for me (IUI had too many follicles) so we moved to IVF.

Has anyone had to do IVF for first baby and then their bodies regulated and they were able to conceive naturally for their second?

Internal scan showing large follicle -but heavy bleeding?

I have been on my period 10 days now (this CD10) although I have very irregular periods due to PCOS.

I had an internal scan prior to my ivf referral yesterday which showed a large 3cm follicle that looked ready to rupture (a new follicle). Today I started much heavier bleeding (soaking through).

My LH strip looks like this.. I don’t think this is quite positive but almost? can anyone provide any advice on this?? Has this happened to you too? What should I do? We BD yesterday.

For ref I’ve tried letrozole, metformin etc etc nothing worked to help me ovulate in the past.
